After boxing on and off for 3 years, I finally made it. I finally stuck through it, and made it to the cap. Now I can start the other grind! ;)
Anyway, I am playing the infamous 4 Death Knight + Pally Team, and I was wondering what order I should be upgrading my gear.
I am planning on doing as many TB's as I can, but from the looks of things, Alliance don't seem to win too often. So between the TB or Conquest weapons, what should I focus on getting first? I already have the crafted resil gear, so I was thinking go with the off-set pieces first. Cloak, rings, trinkets, and the like. Then start working towards my set pieces all the while filling in the others with Conq gear.
What route did you guys take?

yes fill any slots that dont have resilience first. So get crafted and fill offpieces. Resilience is way OP.

Why would resilience be OP? The current resilience situation avoids that HC raid geared players come into a BG and just lol around like back in ICC just by their insane damage pressure. Now having pvp gear actually means something in pvp. For me personally gap between pvp & pve gear should even be bigger.

Hit your battleground Call to Arms hard to grind up honour.
AV and IoC are coming up :)

I would get your 300 resilience, 2 minute pvp token.
After that, probably go four piece (from the five piece set).
As you have bonus resilience for two pieces.
And something better for four pieces.
If the four-piece bonus is not amazing, definitely consider two different two-piece bonuses if your class has two semi-useful sets (example: Balance + Resto Druid).
Consider the pvp cloak, with spell penetration, as an early piece for caster DPS or Frost DK's.
With the spell penetration enchant, that gets you spell penetration capped and helps a lot.
The random and the battleground weekend get you the most honor.
But the larger battlegrounds are generally more fun when undergeared and gearing up.

Im pretty much in the same postion as you. Next wednesday i will have conquest weapons. Currently have the crafted BoE set of gear, revered Therazane rings and a crappy weapon.
Make sure you have 5% hit chance, for pvp/arena. After that i would go for the viscious necklace with spell penetration. You need around 195 spell penetration (correct me if i'm wrong).
After that i should get two parts of gear first, to get the +400 resillience 2 set bonus. I already farmed 2/5 bloodthirsty.
Also the +strength trinket is really, really nice from TB. You will need to be exalted. I heard getting exalted can be achieved quite fast, if you do most dailies everyday. Notice that if your faction holds TB, there are more dailies aswell in the middle of Tol Barad Peninsuela.
The trinket is so nice because when you use it, and gain +1600 strength, you will get 20% extra strength if you use Pillar of Frost. It ampifies your whole strength by +20% wich can easily give your around 1000 extra strength, thus meaning you will get more ATKP.
Kind regards,

It is OP compared to any other stat when gearing for PvP. I'm sure at higher level arena play you will swap out some pieces for a pve strength increasing item (like a trinket) to be able to kill someone. However my guys are near 3k resilience and nothing kills them in BGs unless a guild arena group is in that BG. I haven't died in 5 random BGs, not once.
The only BG that is the exception to that is AV, I get stuck on too many damn things or my guys get feared with trinket on CD in a tower and you might as well just die. So damn annoying how they run halfway down the tower before its over.
But ya, I am gemming for resilience and spell pen up to 195. I havent even bothered with a str gem unless the bonus was resilience.

Not sure I would use OP to describe Resilience.
But it is definitely the best bang for the buck.
Then again, the one stat is better than anything else, for basically everyone...
Unless a socket bonus is amazing, gem entirely for Resilience unless you need 2-3 gems of another color to activate your meta gem.

Scaling wise resilience is great definitely. If you compare it to stamina in an effective health type comparison similar to what tanks use though 40 res (0.42% damage reduction) compared to 60 stam gem (600hp), It only pulls ahead of stam for health after 143,000ish hps. Now keep in mind if you already have 30% damage reduction from resilience, any additional stam is 30% more useful in effective health calculations. My DKs buffed sit at 125k hp and 3k res so for them 60 stam offers about an extra 1000hp in effective health which is equivalent to 0.8% effective health.
Now obviously if you are getting heals also, res makes them more potent whereas stam does not. What I am trying to say though is that if you have a blue slot, I don't really think it is worth gemming all resilience and losing a bonus which you could potentially achieve by using a stam gem instead (after your spell pen gems obviously). Added bonus is that stam is actually slightly useful for PvE also whereas res is not.
Basically I have gemmed red for strength, yellow for res and blue for spell pen to 125 then stam. I have enchanted for hit, then reforged all hit over 5% to mastery and all available crit to mastery for my frost build.
