Rift, what PVE server will you play on?

There is a PvP server thread, post there if you plan on playing on a PvP server. This thread is for those planning on choosing a PvE server. For beta I'm on Gnarlwood. I will post here when i choose what live server i will play on.

It looks like most the Rift boxers will be PvP, i might be alone 8(

Im currently on Keenblade with several other Guardian friends. However we are still in a debat over PvP/PvE/Guardian/Defiant....You know how it goes.

I am still inclined to go PvE for sure, but PvP does open up other things if you can handle the random ganks and getting messed with while question and/or rifting.

Have you decided Guardian or Defiant yet?

I am going to be PvE in this game, not sure if I am going to box it though. Most likely going to level at least one toon solo first to make sure the end game is worth investing in additional copies :)

Well i was going to go evil this time, but if live is anything like beta.. Guardians have short que times for BGs.. so I will be going Guardian for sure. On a PvP server, I'm sure Defiant will dominate open world PvP.

Well Im tired of being the good guys.. in WoW I played horde pretty much the whole time and maybe ill explore the darker "evil" side in this game if i decide to pick it up in March.

Guardians are the good guys and on beta they have very short BG queue times. Something to consider if that is important to you.

Lol I was waiting for somebody to jump on me for saying horde were the good guys :) Just playing around. I dont really greatly care, especially in beta. I am signing on now and will try to go to Gnarlwood. Will update this post when I get a char made.

I started 5 bards on Gnarl.. but i cant handle the slowness of 5 on my PC.. so I went down to 4. 4 are a lot more stable and playable, but i think 3 will be the magix number for me. So far 4 bards seem very powerful, i cleared a rift by myself, only lost a few pets. I also only have 2 of 3 points spent in invigorated soul, so 66% of the DPS from my cadence heals. This is with ranger pet as well.

5 bards will be insane DPS and Healing i think. I will have to upgrade i guess to 5 box.

Once you register your account for open beta and setup your beta profile, a key will be assigned to the account and then within the hour generally 5 to 10 minutes youll get your beta invite email and be asked to download it.

Based on something i heard in the rift podcast i am under the impression that Trion is shifting server names on headstart, so its unsure what all the server names will be at launch for pre-orders and going into launch.

Yea, I'm sure once beta ends they will post a live server list, we can choose one then. Be nice to form a guild and start getting guild perks. I will only be 3 boxing to start. I'm going to take my time. Explore, finish artifact collections, keep trade skills maxed etc.. Since i wont be able to 5 box right away, ill use my first trio to finance my future alts. So max tradeskills etc..

I've pre-ordered one acct, trying to talk myself into a second but dual-boxing the beta right now is only giving me 20-30 fps at min settings.... :(

My comp is not bad, Q6600/8GB ram/Radeon HD 5770 - I five box wow at 60fps no prob, but two-boxing RIFT is pushing it to the max lol.

I'm playing Belmont right now on the beta, checking out dual clerics atm.

I decided today to take the plunge... going to play 2, I tried adding a 3rd and everything slowed way down even on low settings, 2 seems to run comfortable so there it is.

Just let me know where you head Lyon for the early start (thats on Thursday right?) and Ill roll there. I dont know anybody (RL friends etc) playing so Ill roll with boxers =P

I am on Wolfsbane, wether it stays that name, I don't know. Started out on the Guardian side as a warrior/whatever but then started over again on Defiant side as a ranger. Only read a little of the lore, but sounds more like there really isn't a good/evil side. If anything, it sounds like the Guardians are the bad guys.

I'll be playing on the Defiant side, played the Guardian side to lvl15 and swapped to Defiant and really like the layout of the Defiants area much better. Probably just going to play a single account and see how I feel about that later.

Defiants have long warfront wait times. I do not like PvP servers, but i do need my BGs. And Guardians have near instant queues. It should be the same at launch.

After playing both Guardian and Defiant up to mid 25s in a 4 box setup, i have come to the conclusion that the Defiant side seems to be where i will be going on a PVE server.

Tried boxing 5 clients this morning and managed after tuning to get each running @ 7.5 FPS. :)

Tried 4, not much better, however 3 is nice, so, I think I'll be 3 boxing.

Currently on Deepwood boxing a Cleric and a Warrior with a RL friend of mine ( a rogue ).

He wanted to do PvP but I'm not sure if I will enjoy the PvP while questing.
So, going to talk him into a PvE server. :)

I don't mind moving over to a different server once headstart begins.

I have decided after much debate between 3 and 4 boxing, to straight up 5 boxing. Its very advantages IMO to run 4 or 5. 4 is you have a friend who will be following 100% of the time, or 5 if he will not be running with you 100% of the time.

I had several friends join up with me but their play times vary, and i ended up surpassing them level wise which then i wished i had the 5th.

Im considering doing this as well. Even if i cant run 5 at a time for a few weeks, ill level 3 together then the other two.

Damn I wish I could run Rift x5 on my computer, I only got 25fps with 2 running at min settings. Other issue is finding $$$ for 5 - 5x$60 is hard to come by around here, not counting replacing a 4 month old video card and buying a pair of SSD's to make it run smooth :)

Oh, I definitely want to 5 box. :D

I may be able to run two more clients on my laptop, 1 for sure and maybe I can hobble something together out of spare parts to either run 2, or use it to run the 5th client.

I have an ATI x1950PRO sitting in my server which is not needed maybe run out and buy a cheap Core2Duo (need to build another PC for the kids anyway).

i just order 1 copy. if things look good at end game will probably add 4 more. but for now looking to join a shard/guild with other multi boxers. thinking of rolling a cleric . to heal or tank to help out other multi boxers if the like and that way i can tank/boost with the cleric if and when i add 4 other accounts.

just do not see my self going back to wow (playing eveonline right now) even though i got close to 38 lvl 80 and could lvl 85. cata just did not do it for me.

I left wow a year ago almost to the date, to play EVE, but my EVE accounts are on the shelf now while i play some Rift for a bit.

think we Wolfsbane ( PvE ) Defiant is where we some/most of us pve people are going may be we should make a post just about it so we can make it easy for people to find maybe even see if we can get it stickied. i for one look forward to grouping with other boxer was all ways my self when i played wow. for now only rolling one toon to see how the game is at end game but still think would be fun to run rifts and warfront with boxers and follow them around healing or what ever for them

I just got two more copies lol, so ill be 5 boxing bards! I'm going to OC my cpu a tad and see if i can get the performance i need to run 5. If not, ill play 3 and then 2. And go back and forth until 50, or i upgrade my PC.
