I was getting terrible FPS with my background windows until I turned on the "Make game believe it is the foreground window." option. It fixed it perfectly.

Anyone else have any tips for Rift?

I have no tips, but have you found a way (without multiple install Locs) to save configs between chars?
I just might have to use 2 install locs. 1 for main, 1 for 4 alts.

I'll just use the exact same setup on everyone I think. Easy solve.

I can't remember what graphics setting they were on, and it may be that I hadn't burned in my comp yet, but when I ran 5 on my i7, the last instance loaded got some SERIOUSLY wierd graphics glitches, so I turned them all on low and prospered.

Be nice to have the main at Medium or something tho :/

Also, an annoyance is having to retype the Email for every login.

I think its time for me to graduate to Isboxer now, i have tried to set it up many many times with WoW, but i fail at it.

I think ISBoxer will prevail in this game over my previous setup.

FYI: RIFT-related Inner Space patch and ISBoxer 38 ninja update this morning.

ISBoxer 38 now includes RIFT in the Quick Setup Wizard and Virtual File Wizard, virtualizing rift.cfg and riftpatch.cfg for keeping separate audio/video settings and login account names per Character. Lokked: This is the answer you are looking for; if RIFT is not in the Quick Setup Wizard and Virtual File Wizard, re-grab ISBoxer 38 from http://www.lavishsoft.com/downloads/mods/Lavish.ISBoxerSuite.38.exe. To add these virtual files to existing RIFT Characters in ISBoxer, right click Virtual Files in the top pane and select Virtual File Wizard. Select RIFT from the drop-down box, and the next page will ask you to pick the Characters to add it to. Export after and you should be good to go -- ISBoxer is not currently filling in your account names for you in riftpatch.cfg but that option will probably be added soon. (It will just remember your last settings per Character, for now)

And Inner Space build 5374, now live, fixes other known issues with RIFT. Just re-launch Inner Space and let it patch up.

Where is the option to "make game believe it is the forground window" in innerspace or isboxer?

The option to Lock Foreground is in ISBoxer.

Select the Character Set you've created in the Upper Window.

In the Lower-Right Window you will see the option "Make application believe it is in the Foreground" or something like that.
