Hey kids,
So I've been messing around trying to get a dual-box up and running:
Using one machine and HotKeyNet - currently with the basic 2-in-1 script.
Things _seem_ to be working OK so far (fat chance they are, but we'll deal with that when we get there). And I'm now trying to set up macros and what not. Being a complete n00b at this stuff, I have to admit I've never written a single macro before in my life (/cast followed by /yell for instance annoyance does not count) and I'm running into some trouble here.
I thought about just using jamba-macro, because it seems I can set up pretty much everything there, right? I read Jafula's macro thread (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=24694) and I'm just trying out some simple commands, like targeting etc. Except they won't work. Any commands I've tried, any variations on variables, anything, will only give me a message that the unit is unknown.
If anyone would care to give me a guide to this, or tell me if there are better ways to do things, I'd really appreciate it.
I'd also appreciate some info on what jamba-proc is and what it does?
I did try doing as the "plea" said, but I've been working on this for nigh on ten hours today just trying to get this far, and it's now 04:00, so I hope you'll excuse me if I missed something patently obvious =P
Also, a couple of off-topic questions:
First, I don't know what's up, but the forum won't accept me simply pressing Enter for line-breaks, I have to manually insert break tags =(
And second, I'm running on the i7 Alienware m11x, dual-screen with one external monitor. Now, when I run WoW in windowed mode (fullscreen and not) my framerate drops to around 30 (max!) and below. This is suckage, especially since my machine will only let me run fullscreen off the internal 11 inch screen. Using my 24 inch for my slave seems pointless xP Tried any and all settings, but I can only manage around a 5fps difference. It's the same when running one screen (only tried external) and one instance. Does running in window mode really take that much out of the system? Anyone know of similar problems and/or, hopefully, solutions?
In addition my fps will periodically drop to around 15fps for no apparent reason. I'm thinking it's because I'm running two instances, but what do I know.
Thought just struck me: WoW runs on two cores, right? Do you think it would help if I assigned specific cores? I forgot to try this with the set-up I have now. Will have to try tomorrow.
Appreciate any replies, and thanks for your time ^ ^
