Maybe it's lack of sleep driven me insane.
I was just wondering what four resto shaman would be like..
One pure DPS key and another with DPS with staggered healing on the tank.
Imagine four improved healing totems :) although you might have to leave one out for a mana spring.
Would DPS be too poor - or would you be 'unkillable'?
Ahh... I wonder :)

What are you trying to accomplish really? I mean sure your magma totems and lightning bolts will burn stuff down just fine for questing, and the leveling instances are a push over so you won't have a problem there.
I would guess as you level your likely starting out at level 40 at 25% less damage, at getting worse. When mastery kicks in it will be very significant. Your also overkill on talents that won't stack for healing, earth shield being an obvious one.

My main wonder is passive healing of totems - and would it be worth it :) for instances.
My group is already 82. Maybe I'll just give it a go :)
I have no real problems with instances - I wondered whether it would make them a cakewalk. Or whether the DPS is screwed.

Looking at Gunsun's double-healer thread.
Which are basically, Tank + 2x Healers + 2x DPS...
With only two healers, instances are trivial for the most part.
The idea being, spam your DPS + Passive Heals macro.
And watch exclusively for the fight's gimmick or movement.
Four healers would be even easier.
In that your passive heals would make dying hard to do, unless you ignored whatever the gimmick of the fight is.
But the pace to finish anything would be pathetic, and everything would take forever.
Definitely take a look at double healer teams.
Especially if your two healers can contribute for a bit of DPS so your party is maybe 2.25 or 2.50 DPS toons worth of damage instead of just 2.00 DPS.
I like both 2x Paladin or 2x Shaman as healers.
Because you stack two classes, which is easy to macro and play.
Pallies can Beacon the tank, and each heal another toon.
Which gets 1x heal on both DPS, 50% heals (x2) on the tank via Beacon and passive heals via Holy Talents on themselves.
The two shammies get Riptide x2 and Healing Stream etc.
Two different healers get you buffs that stack better.
Say Might + MotW or Fort + Earth Shield/Totems.
But are a little harder to macro or set up.

I would think boss fights would take so long your healers would build up tons of aggro.
Also, what if a boss has an enrage, waves of adds, and/or healing/regeneration?
What about 2xTank and 3xHealer (druids wrath spamming or disc priests smite spamming)

Healers would never outaggro a tank. If they do then you got more than healing problems.

Well if the tank is squishy or if there is group wide damage, then the tank is incapacitated. There are problems, but your right in general.
Also with adds there are problems with constant healing strategies. The tank basically will never have lulls in healing aggro.

You can round robin your heals if you think you might have an aggro problem.

Well I tried four resto shaman, 4 x riptide stacked on tank and four improved healing streams, oh and earth shield made trash mob a breeze...
...a lonnnng breeze. But even when I pulled three mob groups at once - oops, I survived with 100% health and mana as the last one died.
It did make grim baton trash mobs a piece of cake, I used the fast heal off all four shaman at once on tank if things got a bit iffy.
Unfortunately but the time I got to the boss with the dragon, I just needed more DPS. So I went back to 3 elemental + 1 resto to finish the dungeon.
I am looking forward to trying it out on heroic trash, and then I can just have 2 healers as said and 2 dps if needs be.
Thanks for the update dancook. I also run a 1xPaladin, 4xShaman low level team, and this is very interesting (for future adventures!).
