Over the years I know I've seen several posts on Alchemy as a money-maker when multiboxing. So now that I'm working on a new tri-box team, I'm finally considering making all of them Alchemists.

What I'm interested in is what people think is the better Mastery for Alchemy these days.
Is it still Transmute Master, but now for Truegold?
Is it Elixir Master for extra flasks?
Is it Potion Master?

Or since I'm tri-boxing, should I just get one of each?

tailoring

make 1 of each mastery if you have someone who is herbalism to get the herbs etc, if not you get more profit from x-mute if thats all you are really going to use them for.

golden era of mass transmutes is over for me .. per alchemist (transmuting volatile life), i can make about 150 gold a day ... therefore I need to travel with them to uldum (or leave them there while I can use them for other stuff); the 1500 gold a day ain't worth the trouble for me ... and transmuting truegold pfff no thanks, there are way easier methods to make the same amount of gold with less trouble and faster. Not to mention that many herb costs increased (many doubled over the past weeks, outland herbs are x4 x5). Seems to be valid for quite a few realms last i checked. Which means leveling alchemy *x quite expensive.

150 gold now ain't the same as 150 gold in wotlk (where you had a decent chance for extra procs if you had many alchemists)

You would want to be Transmute spec, although Potion-Master or Elixir-Master and then paying to respec to Transmute-Master will be cheaper.

Level your alchemy to 485, for Transmute Elements.
That is 15 Volatile Life = 14-16 Random Element.
If you do the transmute in Uldum, you are guaranteed Volatile Air (Hyjal = Fire, Vashj'ir = Water, Deepholm = Earth); Volatile Air is the most valuable.
You can get procs, of any element usually 10-16 extras. Long term, expect 15% extra Volatiles of a random type.
This recipe is orange to 510, and remains yellow at 525; it will eventually get you to 525 (maximum skill level), for Truegold (which isn't as profitable, on average as Transmute Elements).

I have four of my five alchemists on each team, at the summoning stone for an Uldum instance.
The fifth toon (on the same account as my AH alt) receives 75 Volatile Life.
The team summons the toon to the summoning stone.
The Volatile Life is distributed, 15 to each toon, and then transmuted.
The same toon receives all of the transmuted results, and then hearths.
Mails to my AH alt, and the entire team camps.
With six sets of alchemists, this is a 30-40 minute process.

I've got bulk suppliers of Volatile Life, so spend 7 gold per Life.
Volatile Air is selling for 22g (after AH cut) as singles, and 24g each (after AH cut) in stacks of 10's.
I average 100-150 singles and the rest as 10-stacks sold each day.

The instance is Vortex Pinnacle.
Had no issues flying 75's there from Gadget.
