Hey guys,
I've leveled my deathknights without a problem 55-72 but the quests i have now are just sooo boring and i don't feel like playing. Is there any way to make 70-80 faster/more fun?
I am thinking of farming dungeons but 2-3 blocks of experience doesn't really add up a lot...
I have done Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra and i am doing Dragonblight now but its really boring...
Any suggestions? I want to get my DK's to 85 asap and start doing arena/pvp with them.
Kind regards,

I just recently leveled a new team to level 80 via dungeons. I used my Level 85 Prot Paladin to boost a mage, lock, priest, and hunter.
I did these dungeons in order
Utgarde Keep 70-72
Drak'Tharon Keep 72-74
Gundrak 74-75
Alterac Valley Weekend 75 - 76
Halls of Stone 76-78
Halls of Lightning 78-80
I used heirloom shoulders and chest with guild perk Fast Track Rank 1
It took about 20 runs per level. I could do about 3-4 runs per hour. Since it was a boring grind, I ended up watching a ton of TV and movies at the same time. Questing likely would have been faster, but wanted to see how long dungeon boosting would take. I will definitely not be doing it again any time soon.
AV weekend if probably the best way to level if you side wins most of the time. Unfortunately for me, my side loses most games.
Pro-tip: Once you hit Level 77 you can buy cataclysm greens and outfit your team. The grind goes faster when you slaves can do 3K dps with cata gear :)

Check out this at level 75

There's a small quest line in the Amphitheater, tons of gold, exp and weapons for 10 minutes fighting. :)

Too bad you just missed AV weekend :(
AV xp at 81+ is terrible but during AV weekend 70 to 80 is really good, and freaking amazing if your team is winning a lot. like 2 or 3 hours a level max.

i do a bit of AV to brack up the questing miss out as many quests as i can if not just kill it out
am 77 now am going to be doing SOA this weekend till 80 but questing gives so much more gold then just doing BG,
at 80 AV is about 10% a win
Mix it up, that's the best way to have fun, IMO - here's how I approach it:
Quests: Quest when you feel like it in zones appropriate to your level. Sometimes I am in the mood for questing, and I don't mind running gather quests x5. Usually I'll spend about 2 hours or so questing if there are a LOT of gathering quests in a chain, before I feel a little burnt out. Usually I will quest to gain XP when I don't have any rested xp, as it's often a bit faster this way.
Grinding: If I don't feel like questing and I have plenty of rested xp, I might grind. In Wrath, there's a really nice spot in Sholazar Basin right by Freya that has pretty much an endless and instantly respawning set of undead mobs, so you can sit in one spot and just beat the crap out of undead for as long as you like, getting plenty of frostweave and vendor trash in the process.
Instances: Usually I like to do these when I have some rested xp and a specific boss loot in mind - it's kind of grindy, but it can be fun. Look up an instance on WoWhead and see if there are any quests you can get to add a little extra. Also look for achievements, if that's your thing, and do those.
PVP: Battlegrounds, as have been said, can be a nice way to get xp, especially during an AV weekend. I personally don't really enjoy PvP much, but it is a neat break from the other stuff.
Work on professions: If you're burnt out on any of the above but still want to play for some reason, go farm mats for your professions or something.
Play 3 teams at once: I usually have 3 teams that I'm working on at the same time. Usually they're at very different phases and different class compositions, so they can be different to play. Right now I've one team at 85 that I am working on getting geared up for heroics (thus lots of reputation grinding and instancing), another team of gnomes that's a mixed composition group that I'm running through the new old world, and finally a gimmick team (5 druids) just to have fun. What is nice about this is that at least one of the leveling teams ALWAYS has full rested, so if I'm in the mood to play WoW but don't feel like doing whatever is going on with one team, the other team is probably fun, and will probably be well rested.

20 runs a level???!! Drop the 85 IMO as he's robbing your group of a ton of XP, and just random queue. All mine are dual-speced, with one being blood, the others unholy. Using the dungeon finder you'll get instant queues since you have the tank, in addition to the nice XP for finishing it. I did UT Keep at 68 and Nexus @ 69 with no issues and most healers ask me for another run as this group is so easy to heal. I've only had one healer where he had to actually sit down and drink a few times, all the rest were chain pulls. My guys are only 74 now, and are already pulling sustained 2k DPS which makes for very fast runs. Next time I log on them, I'll grab a screenshot of their /played time for the current level to give you an idea, but it's more in line with 3-4 runs / level (With heirloom chest/shoulders/weapons and fast track rank 2).

I'm boosting a new team at the moment with an 85, would it be more efficient for me to use a level 80 instead? Not sure what the experience loss would be with an 80 vs an 85?
Also, I was going to boost to level 70 and then level normally from that point forward. Is that a wise move, or is it faster to simply quest or run dungeons 60-70 as a team without the high level?

Depends on group makeup. Since this thread is about DKs, unless you are already leveling a 5th toon, I would do a mix of quests and dungeon finder, and the occasional BGs. I'll usually do enough quests to open up quests within dungeons (nexus chain etc) along with all the elite quests for an area, and skip just about everything else. What I like with dungeon finder and someone else in group: Finding a healer takes usually less than 10 seconds. I set my slaves to autopass loot, then if something i need appears i can grab it on main and give to slaves. Healers like it cause it makes them a lot more gold and I like it so I don't have to waste time and loot. As long as healer is looting, you'll get group gold and chunk for guild (with guild perk).
I did 60-70 simply doing the same strategy of a few quests for the dungeons and elite quests and dungeon queued past the rest.
I know some boxers absolutely hate to group with anybody else, and if that's the case, then yes - boost the toons yourself, but I say give dungeon finder a shot. It really helps that DKs are so OP from 60-79 as this has been the easiest group for running dungeons so far. I figured at 80, it should be just a good as you'll have 4 armys to pop.

I did some dungeon finder dungeons, i did UK and Nexus but after 2-3 runs it gets boring and since i don't need anything for my toons i don't feel like doing that.
I'm just going to do some dungeons in Dragonblight, and mix it up with PvP and dungeons.
Once 72-78 is done im finished with the crappy part and the fun can start ^^

takes the guesswork and aimless wandering out of leveling
If you are are boosting thats another story. use a high level tank and healer to boost three other toons in dungeons. simple.
Utgarde Keep
Old Kingdom
Halls of Lightning

I use zygor guides. A problem i have with them is if you skip the gathering quests the addon isnt smart enough to stop telling you about the next quests in a gathering chain. This gets worse as you progress through the zones as more and more chains youre ineligible for keep getting recommended. Teh site claims the addon adjusts for raf (it doesnt) and quest skipping ( it doesnt) and heirloom bonuses ( cant verify but i dont believe it).

I agree with you. but as long as you follow the instructions to a T it will have you pretty much doing 3 quests at a time.

On level 85 boosting lowbies. I found an 85 most use from level 60 to 68. A level 85 pally can do huge pulls which in my opinion makes up for the loss in XP. It makes clearing SH very painless with very fast runs.
I previously did this with the same pally at 80 and it was much slower runs.
