I'm having trouble with my druids. Their DPS absolutely sucks as boomkin. They're barely putting out more than my smite spamming disc priest or a wrath spamming resto druid. I tried changing one to cat to see if the dps improved. The dps improved over boomkin, but not by much - maybe 10%. I've looked at mmo champion and elitist jerks and can't seem to find a cat macro. The ones I've tried making up on my own haven't worked very well either. I'm about to give up and use it as a bear off tank but I read they're as difficult to box as a warrior it. :(

Because the cat is not the main, I don't care about any abilities that can't be macro'd into one button. Does anyone else use feral cats? Does anyone know of a good macro for them?

I'm using a very simple cat macro.

#show
/castsequence reset=target Mangle(Cat Form), Rake(Cat Form), Mangle(Cat Form), Mangle(Cat Form), Rip(Cat Form)

Shred will do more damage then Mangle, if you're willing to ensure your kitty is always behind the mob. Mangle is about 80% of the damage of a Shred now, and does not care about your facing. Even if you do go with Shred, ensure you use an initial Mangle and re-use it once a minute on the mob (assuming it lives that long) to keep the bleed debuff up.

You could preface the macro with a Feral Faerie Fire if you like.
Something like:
/castsequence Faerie Fire(Feral), Null
Not sure that this is the correct syntax for it.

The syntax is correct for the Kitty DPS macro.

Thank you. This doubled the damage output.

What level is your boomkin?

I'm doing arcane/frost/boom and seeing fantastic numbers for my level 69 team (on some fights it beats the mages). Are you using your treants and the all the way to both eclipses extended boomkin macro?

The druid was not my main screen so i did not bother with the lunar/solar stuff. That was certainly part of the problem. I wish theyd never implemented that gimmicky stuff. I might have bothered if it was all druids or even four but not for one out of five. Also, outside instances the mobs die before the druid could even cast starfire. Changing to cat helped a lot.

I did finally find ualaa's cat macro in another thread while searching for rogue macros.

The druid was 69 when i changed to cat.
