Hey guys! I'm new to dual boxing and have started playing with 2x mages and 2x priests. I really like the mages because it's just so easy to spam a few arcane explosions to AoE multiple mobs down at once. I'm thinking about adding a third to kill even faster, as well as get some group bonus xp :) .

What's your favorite class to dual (3/4/5) box with? It seems like shamans are very popular among multiboxers...is chain lightning too good to ignore?

For dual (2) boxing, I liked the paladin/mage the most. AoE-tanking with AoE dps.. great combo.

For 5 accounts, I like my current Paladin/4xShaman setup and it's the one I spend most of my WoW time on - mainly because that combination seems to be the most beneficial for my goals of end-game instances. I've got a couple other groups (Paladin/Hunter/Priest/Mage/Warlock, Paladin/Priest/3xMage, Priest/4xWarlock, 5xHunter, 5xShaman, and 5xMage) on other realms for different goals/gameplay dynamic. If I were to go with 3 or 4 accounts, I'd still keep a Paladin/2x or 3x dps setup.. it's just much easier to pull/tank with a true tank and burn down dps with the others without having to kite/face with an entire dps group.

I've 2 boxed the following combos:

Paladin/Warlock

Shaman/Warrior

Shaman/Warlock

Paladin/Shaman

Hunter/Shaman

So far, I like the Hunter/Shaman combo when I group with friends, but if I'm by myself, the Paladin combos are pretty nice.

I have run and enjoyed:

Shammy (enhancement) + Druid (Balance)

Pally (Retri) + Priest (Shadow)

Shamans. I have only tried that. Seems like the all around class.

I don't think I could veer mix things up. Would be hard as hell.

I'm currently at level 54 with dual Orc Drain-Locks. No downtime during kill quests which makes leveling pretty fast.

Whenever I want to take just two characters out - mote farming for example or when I'm not in the mood for the heaps of BG attention that a full 5 man team gets - I always find myself logging to two mages.

I got 150 days played time with the shaman class prior to multiboxing on multiple characters, and I love the class with heart and soul.

For me, there's not other viable class ingame. xD

before i added my other 3 accounts i duo'd a mage/priest combo for a couple years. I tried a number of different combos, for for 2boxing that was the one that stuck with me. Bringing a holy/disc heal specced priest along seemed to make PuGs much easier, and the mage allowed me to keep my sanity since the priest couldn't dps anything down to save her life. I think i am sitting at about 112 days played on those two.

aside:: Pocket priest for pvp is always fun too!

Prior to going the caster route, I duo'd a rogue/priest pair that was a lot of fun too (again, bringing dps/heals to the group helped make instances less painful, i would swap the priest for a druid in that setup these days though).

My favorite so far that I dual boxed was my 70 Paladin with my 2h fury warrior from 20-60 then dw fury warrior 60-70. SS+imp. Cleave -> WW = Good times 8)

As far as lvling up both together I'd probably go with a shaman for WF totem and a warrior.

if its ease you want then 2x hunters 1>70 in no time really.. just when u get to 70 you are limited to what u can do

at moment i play 2x priest... started off shadow got them to 30 and then i decided to spec holy just to see how it was... and boyyy was i missing out on alot... 2x burst priest sooo much better than 2x DoT shadow... at 40 will have to spec back just to see what shadow form is all about but im liking the holy dps... not to mention holy nova 2x in bg has saved my life no end of times :P and the renew in instances is my 90% of healing, normaly get about 6% flash heal and 4% normal heal. so renew is worth specing into :P hehe

got the standard pali + 4 shaman to 70 there fun but lack of CC is anoying.

currently running a pali priest 3xwarlock setup and i got to say theres not much these litttle lvl23's cant handle lol. alll lock are aflic with imp drain life they get 4% extra dmg for each afli spell on the target so atm 9x4% once i get siphone life and UA thats going up to a total of 60% extra lifedrain damage and that is going to be one hell of a lot of dmg on an elite :) not to mention they never ever run out of mana with lifetap, have lots of CC with seduce banish fears etc. there just seams soo many more toys than with shaman

Moonkin. Oh my god (Buddha) it is so much fun!

Just finished a level 40s AV, my guys were 43 up against level 40s alliance twinks and owned them so hard, even managed to live in melee and run around with hunter pets on my guys, shifting out to heal sometimes, oh man.

I have 19 gigabytes of FRAPS from that one half hour long AB game, I will be back!

(edit) To add some words, I like handicaps. Dual locks, dual mages feels too easy, hard time leveling them because it's so "PRES BUTAN", the priests have crap for defensive mechanisms with a power word shield you can fart to pieces but good dealing and CC with fear cycling and mind flays and dots. The druids are a mix of good and bad, easy and difficult. Gonna put videos from the druids in the video subforum after I have this AB one done, it will be Doomkin 1.0 :)

Here we go! Tauren moonkin duo - From start to finish ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=6131')

Druid/warlock was the first dual box I ran 3 years ago. I still think that was pretty fun. Paladin/warrior is pretty fun, though actually I run paladin/warrior/hunter. Anyway, almost anything will two box well, a lot depends on whether you like to be at range, or be right in there. Given the way content is balanced, a two box really runs against solo content with the ability to take the group quests, but you can't instance run by yourself.

i like my hunter/druid... add a mage for dps, and lowered downtime

Darth,

Did you attack with your Paladin as well or just auto-follow and heal? I am curious to see how difficult it would be to dual box 2 melee characters, even if one is just on Auto-Attack...how challenging it would be to drag them both up to the same mob to attack. Perhaps something that can be solved using keyclone, etc and leaving movement keys bounds together?

Shadow Priest/Affliction Warlock using a friends account to test. Now I bought my second key and am doing Mage/Shaman.

Whilst I never dual boxed any of my 70's to 70 the closest experience I had was levelling a shaman with a mates shaman to the mid 40's anyway.i then solo'ed from there to 70.

I can say though that 2 shaman will just cut through anything you encounter. And if one pulls more aggro than the other, the other player backs off on dps and heals them through it. It works like a charm.

Before I started 5 boxing, I 2-boxed a Fury Warrior / Shadow priest. It was a great combo IMO. Using the warrior as the "main" and the SP backing them up, you could do a lot of things. Plate DPS w/ healer, good stuff.

My two favorite combos have been Warlock/Priest and Rogue/Druid. Lock/Priest for pure PvE farming mode with DoTs and never stopping. Rogue/Druid for instance farming, stealthing through straight to certain bosses for alt or AH loot, etc. The next duo I want to do is a DK/Paladin though...Consecrate + Death & Decay sounds interesting. Plus having a GOOD knight and an EVIL knight together just sounds interesting. I would love to be in a RP server for that duo there! The only problem is that I don't like BE's and their 'pretty' look. I would pay an extra fee if they would let me have an UD pally

I have always leveled separate classes. I guess I like the challenge of getting all the different skills working together. People usually choose similar classes to keep macros and keybinds to a minimum.

I also like semi-roleplaying and having a mini story that goes with why my characters are together. The triplets/quadruplets/quintuplets thing only works so many times :P

I would also recommend against multiple melee classes unless you are very patient. It is doable. But you will be constantly realigning to always be in range. My Warrior and Paladin have been fun, but any groups from here on out will be a Warrior/Pally/Death Knight with a bunch of casters, or an entire caster group.

In the long run a hybrid class will "win" this discusion as of the ability to DPS, Heal or ress.. Thats probably why you see so many Shammys with a pally or druid tank setups. Imagion runing a 5man team without a healer and you keep losing one toon all the time in BGs etc... thet must be sooo anoying.. Ofc. i have only tryed my druid shammy team and are a true Hybrid fan :D Druid and shammy FTW!

just started 2boxing myself and chose 2 mages, fire spec and i must say its quite fun :)

havent tried much pvp yet,but for grinding its pretty awesome, start with 2xpyro then 2x fireball...and if it still aint dead i do 2xfireblast and thats pretty much one dead mob 4 levels higher than me :)

if u can run 3 mages thats even better ofc,but if u want to stick with just 2 i think mages are fun in my (short) experience

Just to toss it out there I was looking to raise two toons up so that one of them could be gifted to 60 with my RaF bonus. The one I wanted to raise up was a shammie so I rolled a priest/shammie combo. That was a painfully bad idea. I think I wiped them at least 6 times getting to level 15 and into Stockades. Now they're happily following my mage around in SM but man, that was a bad combo.
