Hi, I have been two-boxing and at most quad-boxing at low lvls, but never really was able to step in next lvl, but I always dig multi-boxing and knew/did boxing before wow even existed, but only thanks to this awesome site (as of 2years now) I was really emerged into it like never before, and I thank you for this xD

Sorry if this post not so coherent so to speek, because I just really wanted to share my "awesome" train of thoughts before going to sleep. BUT you can of course save yourself trouble and skip to TL;DR part >.~

So, now for why I wanted to post this you may ask, well because I was just brainstorming about cata, and boxing lately a lot over past week or so, and today I got to a point where I really wanted to give a try to 5boxing in near future like never before. so first priority i thought i will need every hybrid healer and tank at top lvl so i can easily pick and choose flavor of the month so to speek =P
at first i trowed in my head short list of specs i want to have in grp, which was: protadin, Spriest, boomkin, ele, and then i though what i would have in my 5th slot? another tank? a melee? in mostly tank+range grp? hmm, then thought to myself, what if i trow pally on back as heals, and war as tank (dk pref but after hit 55) and then it hit me, that their holy is quite viable dps now >.<
yes, i finalized 1-55 lowbe team of war/holydin/spriest/ele/boomking as group of a tank and 4 range, but now i have another concept that completely novelty so i though.
I think it could be (in theory) somewhat viable team (pve?) dk+4holydins?
holydins can putout somewhat decent dps as exorcism spam AKA shokadins =3
I know crazy idea, i though that myself. if even with virtually unkillable 4holydins and their massive defensive CDs and some passive healing, bosses have enrage timers and if shokadins cap only at 5-6k dps it won't be enough in heroics bosses/trash as single target dps figures =(
so even if this concept trown out of window, main fact remains, shokadins can heal like any healer and when needed still do more dmg then any other healer (as far as i know)
With the way content is now, it not unheard of two-healing to make content easier even at coast of dps, so if this concept could be applied to dk+pally teams and then trading one dk for another pally will gain unparalleled toughness imo.
and there always that protodin+3dk+holydin setup for pve as well ^.^

TL;DR IMHO 2paly+3DK could theoretically be most robust, toughest, flexible combo team yet!
Yet there still shadow of a doubt in my own assessment of this team's "superiority". I favor it because of defensive nature of it with ability to offensive switch, but yet i know it doesn't so conveniently works like that.
trading DK for pally will hurt in dmg, heal-adsorb, deathgrip, utility department. and really you might be asking if doable bubbles/layhands/healoutput is really worth it, but i think it is when you can put some real dent with Inquisition/Divine Favor/Avenging Wrath when needed as trade of anyways xD

I've never played a holy paladin; I made a paladin just because I needed a tank for my first team back in the day, and they're one of two surviving members of that original team. They've only tanked and very limited experiments in ret (even PvP as prot)

I'm going to reply, I guess, to the good and bad I see happening:

GOOD: The shockadin was a viable build at the end of TBC. Then Blizzard changed some things around and made it suck as a side-effect. What I think would be awesome is the rotation of Holy Shock->Exorcism->Word of Glory on whoever needs heals. It would be even better than the old days of running with 4 rets waiting on Art of War procs to make your flash heal instant. Also that conical AoE heal healadins do now (Light of Dawn?) is going to be useful here, as is the other one that heals better if people stay close.(Holy Radiance)

BAD: DPS is going to be an issue here, as are global cooldowns when damage gets a little out of control. Were you talking about having 1 tank and 2 dps DKs? Or were you talking about having 3 tanks? (Spread the love a little) Long cooldowns on holy radiance (down to 30 sec with talents), which isn't really good enough to keep up with the kind of damage you'll be facing in heroics, could be prohibitive. Also you need holy power to run Light of Dawn, although you'll be generating all kinds of holy power just from casting heals through beacon of light (through talents) it'll still take quite a few seconds to generate a really big heal out of it.

running 1 dk + 4 pally gives you tons of possibilities ...
dk as dps or tank brings quite some utility ...
with the reduced cost of dual speccing, you could off spec 2 shockadins as ret, 1 as tank and 1 as healer which gives you the possibility to run pally tank, dk dps 2x ret dps & healer if fight requires
but dk + 4x shockadin sounds a very interesting idea to me, even for pvp

At first i was thinking along the lines of 3dkFrost+2shokadins pvp, and variety of similar team in pve for more controlled heroic progression, like 1blood+2frost+2holy, or prot+3frost+holy, or even 1blood+2frost+ret&holy =3

Honestly I am sold on 4dk+pally team for both pvp and pve, but with fact that pally could be specced in such way that it could output considerable dmg when needed or possible to do so. Just like feral can switch on the fly from kitty to bear in midfigh when situations calls for, so as shokadins have such convenient option to switch to healing on the fly, well at least i presume that there little to no downside to it, but it is only just a theory...

As is, I don't see downside to 4dk&pally, but i though 3dk&2pally had some kind of unprecedented robust flexibility =P
and my first thought on dk+4shokadins was "immortals" lol
