Anyone play this? It's $50 on steam and just came out a few days ago. It seemed to get decent reviews so far, but there aren't many reviews out yet. Seems pretty cool, but there are already quite a few superhero games out there.

I downloaded it last night and will be giving it a shot this weekend.

I'm not really into the whole DC universe like some, but I don't hate it, so hopefully I won't have a fanboy review here in a few days.
However I must admit I was kind of drawn into the universe after playing Batman Arkham Asylum for the first time last week and couldn't stop playing it until I finished it!

DC universe looks pretty good, and admittedly, the lengthy trailer was sweeeeet, but the $20 a month ($AUS) is a bit hefty so I will have to be pretty drawn in for me to stick with it.

I played a few days of the open beta and it was fun as a diversion but it didn't seem deep enough for me to enjoy long term.

I have been playing it and I am just blown away. Blown away by the combat, graphics, voice acting, etc...

Haven't had this much fun with a new MMORPG in quite a while. It is just so different from the normal 1231233 in WOW. The combat feels very viceral and satisfying. PVP is off the hook.

Will be playing this game for some time to come.

I don't have time to write a lengthy review yet, but jinkobi pretty much sums it up.

It has both ups and downs, but for a brand new game, it's #@$ing fun :D

I just bought it today and 2 hrs after starting the install process, I still can't play. Some things to keep in mind if you buy it (PC version):

1. The activation code is printed with an OLD dot matrix printer. It seems prone to errors. My code had two errors in it. don't be surprised if your code is invalid.
2. SOE tech/account support for PC has no phone-in support on the weekends, or at night (pacific).
3. Live chat support is available, but even though you are number 10 in the queue it will take an hour for a person to help you.
4. You will need to download about 3 gigs of extra data after your code is verified.

I had high expectations for this game, but the install process has been so ridiculous, the game really needs to blow me away if they want my sub after the first month.

More impressions to come once I get in....

Bought mine off Steam and things went smooth as silk- but I had pre-ordered/pre-loaded. Not sure what's up with your code and things. I haven't encountered any errors, crashes, or even lag. Why they'd have such a shitty printer is beyond me, lol.

I watched TotalBiscuit's vids and it looks like a promising and somewhat different MMO than WoW. I may jump in at some point.

Looks like the leveling process is fun, but I wonder about the post 30 play - how dungeons and raids will be at max level.

Anyway, for those of us who may jump in, any suggestions as to which server most of you are playing on?

I bought this yesterday and am leveling hero's on Brave New World. Very refreshing game play; very entertaining!

I would certainly recommend a PvP server if you don't mind getting a killed a bit (sometimes a lot and repeatedly)
However PvP is one of the coolest parts about this game, unlike WoW I was able to kill lvl 20's while I was lvl 10, and sometimes it was the opposite.
It all ties in to the way combo's and the block system works and that most people don't know how to use it.

Anyways, I'm not big on PvP, but I'm enjoying it, I'm also on the most populated PvP server (Death and Glory I think) but if you guys are on any particular server, mention it and I would be happy to start a new toon

I don't know.... is anyone having a problem with how to move & fight in this game.
I can't get over not having a mouse cursor and any movement of the mouse causes the screen to move. I end up look at the sky or the dirt at the worst possible times and I can't get over not being able to turn using the keyboard or not being able move with just the mouse. I hate it so far and want my $50 back.

it hasn't bothered me so far. I just treat it like an FPS and am ok.

my major complaint with it is that on my system it is rather unstable. I expect it to lock up at least once every time I play. I have the graphics turned down and everything. It can be pretty annoying. Otherwise the game is pretty fun.

Play it like you're playing COD or any other FPS.

I will join you on Death and Glory, but are you guys hero or evil?

I haven't had any problems moving with a mouse and keyboard. Well actually I use a trackball (have for ump-teen years) but it's basically the same. Try acrobatics- have found it the easiest and most controllable for a mouse+keyboard. The chat system sucks like a Hoover.

It's not a perfect game by any means- but it is fun! We can nitpick any game and some with justification. Outside of the chat system and maybe a need for a tad more content at a few levels. There's not really any outstanding flaws I can see.

I've come to the conclusion is't meant to be played on a play station with a game controller. I guess I never played any of the FPS games other than Doom and it's been so long I can't remember what it was like for movement. The graphics do seem very nice but I'm still having trouble with the fact that the character doesn't actually turn to the direction the screen is facing until you move so the screen pans to looking behind the character without him turning that direction until I move him forward.... I just can't stand that. oh well... it is what it is.
