In light of this thread (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=34037), I've made some changes this morning on how new users are treated here on DB.

New users are in the "Registered Users" user group. They are limited to posting in Welcome to the World Of Multiboxing New? Start here! (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8) section until they've made 5 posts + waited an hour after the 5th post. This is nothing new, we've run the new users this way since March 2009 (http://www.dual-boxing.com/announcement.php?f=15).

What changed today:

Registered users cannot use Private Messaging
Registered users cannot use Signatures
Registered users cannot use Avatars or Profile Pictures

Now this won't affect the majority of you because you're already promoted to the "Member" user group. What may happen is you may / may not need to reset your signature or avatar. If you do, sorry >.<

I've also updated the signature settings to allow for larger signatures. The current signature cuts off at 600x160, up from 475x125. If you have an unusually obnoxious (or slow loading) signature, it may be nuked.

Please let me know if you have any issues.

Have you considered (if not yet in effect) disabling the ability for 'novice posters' to use links?

How the forum works using links it's not* something I can set permissions on. I'd have to do some heavy lifting on the back end to restrict it.

Edit: + not

Thank you so much for this change.

I love this site, and the people, but it was discouraging to sign in in the morning, and have to wade through and report 4-9 spam messages on Green bay penile enhancement tube sock make up Teddy bears each day.

What if you disable Reg Users using HTML vBCode and BBCode? If that is possible? I know it was on phBB maybe not in VB?

We've never allowed HTML for anyone. BBCode is limited to new users, but as I said before, the way the forum handles links, it's currently impossible to limit. (Since links get turned into clickable URLs just by having the text link in the post)
