General

Many tooltips have been updated to reflect any changes made via recent hotfixes.
The guild reward Armadillo Pup now requires revered faction instead of exalted.


PvP
Arenas

Bloodlust, Heroism, Time Warp and Ancient Hysteria can no longer be cast while in Arenas.


Battlegrounds
The Battle for Gilneas

The time it takes to capture a flag has been reduced to 5 seconds, down from 8.


Strand of the Ancients

The damage done by Antipersonnel Cannons has been doubled.
The missile speed of Rocket Blast (Antipersonnel Cannons) has been increased by roughly 50%.
Some Antipersonnel Cannons could shoot the platform they were spawned on. These spawn locations have been fixed.
The Battleground Demolisher no longer has two additional seats and now only has room for the driver.
A PvP duration flag has been added to Battleground Demolishers. This should make it so crowd control effects cast on unmanned demolishers does not last an extended amount of time.
There should no longer be a discrepancy in time when the Battleground Demolishers spawn at the start of each round.
The Battleground Demolishers spawned on the docks no longer despawn when the north graveyard is taken by the offense.
Massive Seaforium Charges should now be useable in rated Battleground matches.
The duration of the Teleport debuff has been lowered to 10 seconds, down from 20.
The radius of the Seaforium Blast has been lowered to 10 yards, down from 20.


Races

The draenei racial trait Gift of the Naaru now heals 20% of the target's health over 15 seconds, rather than a scaling value.
The dwarven racial trait Stoneform now reduces all damage taken by 10%, rather than increasing armor by 10%. It also increases the dwarf's size when used.
The gnomish racial trait Escape Artist now has a 1.5-minute cooldown, down from 1.75.
The human racial trait Every Man for Himself has been reverted back to a 2-minute cooldown, down from 3 minutes.
The night elf racial trait Shadowmeld can now be used while shapeshifted.
The tauren racial trait War Stomp can now be used while shapeshifted.
The worgen racial trait Darkflight now has a 2-minute cooldown, down from 3, and is no longer on the global cooldown. In addition, the movement speed bonus now stacks with existing bonuses, but cannot be activated while Sprint or Dash is active (and they cannot be activated while Darkflight is active).

Icebound Fortitude now breaks stuns when used, in addition to providing immunity to them.
Necrotic Strike's absorption effect is now reduced by the target's resilience.


Talent Specializations
Blood

Crimson Scourge has been redesigned slightly. Instead of a 50/100% chance to make the next Blood Boil free when Plague Strike is used on a target with Blood Plague, the talent now gives a 5/10% chance to provide a free Blood Boil when the death knight lands any melee attack on a Blood Plagued target.
Will of the Necropolis no longer refunds a Blood Rune when it resets Rune Tap's cooldown. Instead it makes the next Rune Tap free while Will of the Necropolis is active.


Frost

Howling Blast now deals 40% less damage to all targets other than the primary target of the spell.
Might of the Frozen Wastes now also increases all melee damage by 4/8/12% while wielding a two-handed weapon.


Unholy

Desecration is now also triggered by Necrotic Strike.
Runic Corruption procs while the aura is already active now add 3 seconds to the existing aura duration, instead of simply refreshing/overwriting the existing aura.
Unholy Might (passive) has been reduced to a 5% Strength increase, down from 10%.


Glyphs

Glyph of Death's Embrace no longer refunds Runic Power when self-healing via Lichborne.

Barkskin is no longer dispellable.
Healing Touch is now trained at level 78, up from level 3.
Lacerate damage has been reduced by approximately 20%.
Mangle (Bear Form) weapon damage (at level 80+) has been reduced to 235%, down from 300%.
Mangle (Cat Form) weapon damage percent (at level 80+) has been increased to 460%, up from 360%.
Maul damage has been reduced by approximately 20%.
Mount Up: This guild perk now applies to Flight Form and Swift Flight Form as well.
Nourish is now trained at level 8, down from level 78.
Omen of Clarity can no longer trigger from helpful spells (aka heals), unless the Restoration talent Malfurion's Gift is chosen.
Rake damage has been reduced by 10%.
Rejuvenation is now trained at level 3, down from level 8. In addition, its mana cost has been reduced from 26% to 16%.
Rip damage has been reduced by 10%.
Shred weapon damage percent (at level 80+) has been increased to 450%, up from 350%.


Talent Specializations
Balance

The Shooting Stars buff duration has been increased to 12 seconds, up from 8 seconds.
Wild Mushroom is now instant cast, down from 0.5 seconds. In addition, the radius of detonation has been increased to 6 yards, up from 3, and damage done increased by 15%.


Feral

Berserk (instant Mangle proc) now has a new Spell Alert identifier. In addition, Berserk no longer breaks Fear or makes the druid immune to Fear.
Pulverize weapon damage percent has been reduced to 80%, down from 100%.


Restoration

Empowered Touch now also affects Regrowth.
Nature's Bounty no longer affects Swiftmend, but now has a new effect. When the druid has Rejuvenation on 3 or more targets, the cast time of Nourish is reduced by 10/20/30%.


Glyphs

Glyph of Regrowth now causes the heal-over-time effect to refresh itself on targets at or below 50% health, up from 25%.
Glyph of Wrath now increases damage done by Wrath by 10% and no longer requires Insect Swarm on the target.

Aimed Shot! weapon damage has been increased to 200%.
Aspect of the Wild, Aspect of the Hawk, and Aspect of the Fox can now be cast while mounted.
Deterrence now provides 100% chance for melee attacks to miss instead of 100% parry chance. This means that attacks that cannot be parried, notably some rogue abilities, can now be prevented by Deterrence, and the hunter will gain the benefit of Deterrence even if disarmed.
Dust Cloud's cooldown and duration have been modified to make it closer aligned with Tailspin (same effect, different pet).
Kill Command's damage has been increased by 20%.
Kill Shot's attack power scaling has been increased by 50%.
Master's Call now has a 35-second cooldown, down from 1 minute. In addition, the visual effect is more obvious.


Talent Specializations
Marksmanship

Chimera Shot's attack power scaling has been increased by 20%.


Survival

Into the Wilderness (passive) has been reduced to a 10% Agility increase, down from 15%.


Pets

Pets now have 70% of the master's armor, rather than a different value based on which type of pet they are.
Shale Spiders now correctly have a special ability (Web Wrap).
Bad Manner (monkey) now properly breaks from damage.

Flame Orb now ignores critters.
The mana costs of Arcane Brilliance and Dalaran Brilliance have been reduced by approximately 16%, making them roughly equal to the cost of Mark of the Wild.
Ring of Frost: Radius shrunk to 8 yards, and inner "safe" radius is now 4.7 yards (exactly matching graphic). Dispelling the effect of Ring of Frost will now make the target immune to being refrozen for 3 seconds. If a second Ring of Frost is cast by the same mage while the first is still active (via Cold Snap), the first will now disappear and cease functioning.


Bug Fixes

Ring of Frost can now be cast, and works properly, on transports (this includes elevators, trapdoors, etc.).

Divine Plea now lasts for 9 seconds, down from 15. It grants 4% mana per tick, instead of 2%, for a total of 12% mana, up from 10%.


Talent Specializations
Retribution

Divine Purpose: The chance for applicable abilities to generate Holy Power has been reduced to 7/15%, down from 20/40%, but instead of generating 1 Holy Power, the next applicable ability used consumes no Holy Power and acts as if the paladin has 3 Holy Power.
Hand of Light (Mastery): A percentage of the damage done by Templar's Verdict, Crusader Strike, and Divine Storm is done as additional Holy damage.
Repentance is no longer broken from damage done by Censure (Seal of Truth).


Glyphs

Glyph of Divine Plea now adds 6% mana, for a total of 18% over 9 seconds.

Talent Specializations
Discipline

Focused Will now procs when the priest is critically hit, in addition to its current effect.
Improved Power Word: Shield now also increases the amount absorbed by an additional 15/30% when cast on oneself.
Pain Suppression is no longer dispellable.


Holy

Blessed Resilience will now proc when the priest is critically hit, in addition to its current effect.
Chakra states now last 1 minute, up from 30 seconds.
Desperate Prayer now heals the priest for 30% of their total health, up from a very subpar value.
Holy Concentration now increases the amount of mana regeneration from Spirit while in combat by an additional 15/30%, down from 20/40%.
Holy Word: Chastise now has a 30-second cooldown, up from 25. In addition, it properly breaks from damage.
Lightwell's health has been increased by 50% (for PvP purposes).
Serendipity now has Spell Alert and Floating Combat Text feedback support.
Surge of Light can now also proc from Flash Heal and Greater Heal, and can now also critically hit.


Glyphs

Glyph of Mind Flay no longer requires Shadow Word: Pain to be on the target.
Glyph of Pain Suppression has been renamed Glyph of Desperation and now allows Guardian Spirit to be cast while stunned, in addition to Pain Suppression.
Glyph of Psychic Horror now reduces the cooldown of Psychic Horror by 30 seconds, down from 60.
Glyph of Spirit of Redemption has been converted into Glyph of Prayer of Mending, which increases the healing done by the first charge of Prayer of Mending by 60%.

Cleave damage has been reduced by 20%.
Heroic Strike damage has been reduced by 20%.


Talent Specializations
Arms

Juggernaut no longer increases the cooldown on Charge, but instead increases the duration of the Charge stun by 2 seconds. In addition, Charge is usable in all stances, however, the talent now causes Charge and Intercept to share a cooldown.
Lambs to the Slaughter: Instead of granting 10/20/30% damage to the next Mortal Strike, Overpower, or Execute, it now grants a 10% buff to any Mortal Strike, Overpower, Slam, or Execute that stacks 1/2/3 times.
War Academy no longer buffs Heroic Strike or Cleave. It now buffs Mortal Strike, Raging Blow, Devastate, Victory Rush and Slam.


Fury

Unshackled Fury (Mastery) now grants 5.6% benefit per mastery point, up from 4.7%.


Glyphs

Glyph of Rapid Charge has been changed from a 7% reduction to Charge's cooldown, to 1 second off of the cooldown. This change is primarily to clarify the exact cooldown reduction this glyph provides.

Professions
Cooking

Multiple spawn locations now exist for the Confectioner's Sugar (daily quest item) in Stormwind.


Items

Bell of Enraging Resonance can now trigger from any damage spell instead of only critical strike.
The Fury of Angerforge internal cooldown has been drastically reduced so this trinket will build up charges much faster.
Mandala of Stirring Patterns now grants Intellect instead of Mastery.
The PvP Priest 4-piece set bonus has been redesigned. When Power Word: Shield is cast on the priest, movement speed reduction effects are temporally suppressed for 4 seconds.


User Interface

For opening cinematics there is now a streaming option interface in the login screen for play-on-demand.
The Character Info window (C) now saves for each specialization how stat categories are ordered by players, as well as whether categories are expanded/collapsed.
Character movement speed is now displayed on the Character Info window (C) with all other stats.


Archaeology

There are now number displays on the summary page and dropdown menu.
Ready Flash has been added to the race icons.


Guild Interface

A View All button has been added to the profession display regardless of whether Show Offline Members is checked.
Online members can now be sorted to the top of the View Crafters list.
The guild reputation cap is now displayed in the tooltip.


Real ID & Chat

Real ID login notifications now include character and game icons.
Players can now right-click close a chat window tab even if it's not the current tab.
There is now an option to auto-pop whispers into a new tab.
Popped out whisper windows now show online/offline status messages.


Bug Fixes

Many bugs... handled them!


Quests & Creatures
Tol Barad Peninsula

A new achievement, Just Another Day in Tol Barad, has been added for completing all of the Tol Barad daily quests.
Crazed Guards now drop Rusty Rifles.
The spawn rate of Alliance and Horde Infantry for the quest "The Leftovers" has been increased.
The Magnetized Scrap Collector for the quest "Magnets, How Do They Work?" will now be correctly removed from players' bags upon completing the quest.
Both the Baradin's Wardens and Hellscream's Reach Commendations are now Bound to Account items.


Bug Fixes

Worgen now work properly in the Barbershop.

so they're more than tripling the strength of power word: shield
from what i've seen in 5's it's already been a massive part of damage prevention/effective healing and that's even when used by a shadow priest. i thought they said they thought purge/spell steal was OP and now they're making it even more necessary.

For Spriests it's probably a bit OP idd. Allthough Disc priest, atleast is pve, are much weaker then holy. So this might be a try to sort that a bit.

Considering how much INCOMING damage SP's take, I wouldn't think so. I leveled to 85 as Shadow, and I was constantly having to heal myself after killing 2 mobs at once. Leveled my feral druid, never healed myself unless I had 5+ on me at once.

Just wait, they're going to nerf dispells/purges INTO THE GROUND. Supposedly that's wrecking arena atm.

Dks AOE nerfed to the ground. Frost 2h dmg up by 12% overall. IBF as a stun remover... lulz.

Warriors buffed and less mobility because of no intercept.

Anyone else feel like Elemental needed a little love? lol at bloodlust change. Can anyone who is fully geared speak to the manna problem? Is it simply a gear thing, or are we just manna pigs now?

I was really hoping to see:
Unleash weapon brought off the GCD
Spirit Walkers Grace given a shorter CD or longer duration
A manna fix (At least for DPS spells, heals can remain a hog for Ele)

Just wait, they're going to nerf dispells/purges INTO THE GROUND. Supposedly that's wrecking arena atm.

This will hurt for ele/enhance - purge is op for resto and enhance(endless mana), along with tremor for resto now that they can dispell fear

SP never needed a defensive dispell as shadow- that was always kinda op

They will need to hit on interrupts also while they on about dispells.

With that said I think meleecraft is back


Edit: they still need to nerf CC(mages) like the said they we going to, then the transformation will be complete

Looking at this from a Feral point of view.

Buffs:
Barkskin not dispellable = nice.
Berserk not a fear break/immunity = incredibly shitty
Bloodlust/Heroism = boost, via nerfing the opposition.
Mount Up = bug fix.
Ring of Frost = slight nerf to the most annoying caster to play against.
Shadowmeld in a shapeshift form = decent.

Mixed feelings on these; Berserk providing fear immunity/break was huge, but ferals are already immune to polymorph and virtually immune to all stuns/snares via power shifting. With diminishing returns, trinket the first fear, and IWT + Feral Charge (at 25 yards) it doesn't break the composition. The nerf to mages is very welcome, and removal of heroism/bloodlust is a larger loss to those compositions and thus a larger relative gain going against them.



Damage:
Mangle Cat 360% > 460% = 78% relative increase.
Shred 350% > 450% = 77% relative increase.
Rake/Rip -10% = bleed nerf, and bleeds (dots) ignore armor.

Moving the damage away from the bleeds and towards straight physical damage. Aside from the Ravage opener from stealth (or after a Feral Charge), burst will definitely increase. More of a PvE raid loss, although with Mastery tied directly to bleeds, it might not be much of an issue as gear progresses.



Glyphs:
Regrowth is interesting, if the Berserk change goes through; Berserk was never a DPS increase via glyph because by the last five seconds, energy was gone; it was taken for increased fear immunity.
I'm already not using Thorns nearly as often as I thought, so might need to take a hard look at glyphs again.

If you're not hit capped as ele you aren't getting your RNG mana regen from Rolling thunder.

They need to either increase the mana returned from rolling thunder or make it 100% chance.

I PvP, there is no hit cap.

I just think they need to lower the cost of everything (DPS). More manna regen will just bring us back to WotLK. And manna was a total joke then. That entire expansion was a PvP joke. That's why I quit a month in.

Also does anyone know if / when feral gets the nerf bat to the face? Is that the patch before this one? Or is bliz taking the normal attitude "They are fine"? (LOL brings back memories of my Ret pally 3.0 patch...)

I PvP, there is no hit cap.

Check your interface, the PvP hit cap is the one required to make you not miss level 85 characters, and its a set number.



If you're not hit capped as ele you aren't getting your RNG mana regen from Rolling thunder.

They need to either increase the mana returned from rolling thunder or make it 100% chance.

I disagree; planning to roll a Druid team, so I added up the mana returns per 5 sec from Talents/Innervate compared to Thunderstorm/Rolling thunder, and its almost Identical.

Draenei look to become a viable option potentially comparable with Humans unique to multiboxers.

While the draenei racial doesn't look that impressive singularly, cumulatively you've got what equates to a 100% heal on a 3 min cooldown that you can use incrementally or all at once to ease pressure on whoever is primary target. I can see the min/max possibilities already. Focus resil/stam on your paladin main healer and suddenly that 20% heal x5 is even more impressive if they try to focus your healer down. Of course it is susceptible to dispel, but in the total chaos that is melee MBing, I think against all but very good teams you can rely on Gift to get most of its healing off.

I think for me, this is huge enough to choose draenei in my race swap to alliance tonight.

The Rebuke (http://db.mmo-champion.com/s/85285/rebuke/) talent has been replaced with a new passive talent, Sacred Shield. Paladins who had Rebuke before will automatically have Sacred Shield. Sacred When reduced below 30% health, paladins gain the Sacred Shield effect. The Sacred Shield absorbs X damage and increases healing received by 20%. Lasts 15 seconds. This effect cannot occur more than once every 30 seconds. Undispellable.

To me atleast for my character the resilience to affect NS is the only nerf I cared about and I think the IBF stun breaker will not make it to live.

the bloodlust change is not bad, most high rated teams reset the fight when I pop bloodlust or I'm getting ccd and mass dispel'd
in most cases I dont have enough time to purge bl from the enemy team so I dont see any big shaman team nerf here, but that change should make any dk or ret combo more powerful (oh yeah and tsg is gonna be insane in 3v3 now)

I'm happy about the dk/feral/warrior/smokebomb and drain mana nerf but I'm missing the icelance/frostnova nerf

at all nice patch

That's my thought as well. You get pretty close to revered with them by the time you have enough emblems to buy anything useful anyway. Now if the commendations provided a bit of honor to go with the rep, this change would be something to get excited about.

Restoration

Cleansing Waters no longer fires its heal effect twice when a shaman removes a Magic and a Curse debuff with a single cast.
Deep Healing (Mastery) has been increased to 3% per point, up from 2.5%.
Greater Healing Wave mana cost has been increased by 10%; healing done has been increased by 20%.
Mana Tide Totem has been redesigned. The totem no longer multiplies the Spirit of those affected by it. It instead gives a flat amount of Spirit equal to 400% of the casting shaman’s Spirit, exclusive to short-term Spirit buffs affecting the shaman when the totem is dropped.

The tremor totem change makes a lot of sense from a non-multiboxing point of view. Tremor was almost worthless only pulsing every 4 seconds if you only had one of them. You were never right on top of the totem, so the chances of it not getting the fear before you were out of range were a LOT.

The change has its benefits and drawbacks. The benefit being you don’t need 4X tremors down all the time. The drawback being that it is no longer automatic, you have to react to a fear (And fast)

As for the CC changes, if it were up to me I would take about 1/2 the CCs out of the dam game. I have had it up to my neck with frost mages and ring-o-god dam-frost.

Still waiting for the Ele shaman buff though... Feel neglected with my gimped Ghost Wolf. “Less hindered by movement slowing effects”… Ok “Less hindered by some slowing effects”… Ok well, “not really less hindered by the vast majority of slowing effects.”

Heres the thing though, everybody is losing BL. So there is no real loss for anyone except elemental. I would forget all the time to BL after I popped wolves and I dont think it made a huge difference. I was either going to win with out it or lose even if I used it.

I can understand the concern for PVE shaman, who may have fights where they would drop the totem pre-emptively to deal with random fears. But I think that's exactly the sort of design Blizzard is trying to get away from.

However, I see shaman complaining about this for PVP, and it mystifies me. It's a group-wide PVP trinket on a 60 second cool-down, and they worry that the totem only has 5 HP and can be destroyed? Yep.

I can understand the concern for PVE shaman, who may have fights where they would drop the totem pre-emptively to deal with random fears. But I think that's exactly the sort of design Blizzard is trying to get away from.

However, I see shaman complaining about this for PVP, and it mystifies me. It's a group-wide PVP trinket on a 60 second cool-down, and they worry that the totem only has 5 HP and can be destroyed? Erm, dude... by the time they destroy it now, it has already done its job. If there is something I'm missing, please fill me in, but I'm not seeing the downside here.

1 tremor totem is not that good currently. I think it pulses every 5 seconds. and you may run out of the totem range before it ticks. So having one is almost like having none.

This change is a buff to single tremor for sure. Maybe considered as nerf to 4 tremors where you stack them to get 1 second pulse.

It sucks for pvp shaman groups because staggered totems would almost instantly stop fears and I continued dps like nothing happened. Now I actively have to drop a totem to break fears. This is NOWHERE near as fast, I'm sorry but people can't react instantly. So yes a nerf.

Well elemental shamans got bigger problems than tremor totems right now.

Burst is low (relative to HP pools). Survival not there in pvp.

Elemental is on the other side of the balance. When melee raises, elemental falls more than other range casters.

Although from all the talk about "larger HP pools" and "Less burst" from Bliz, I don’t see this changing. And without a Mortal Strike or survivability, I don’t see how they are going to make us PvP viable. I bring so much less to the table than a DK. (Why im leveling 4X DKs :p)

If I am not mistaken, this is a buff to unholy DK damage. and a rather large buff since major damage comes from DND/SS/DC, not from disease.

So unholy was topping PVE meters in raid, and needs a nerf. Now they buff unholy again. OooooooKaaaaaaay


edit: I guess the change is intended to make mastery viable for unholy DKs. Unholy's damage might shoot up the roof after this. On the flip side, Frost DK can tap into Virulence, grab that 30% disease for free. The riches just keep getting richer and richer.

Level 85 players can now choose any normal dungeon via the Dungeon Finder. Choosing Random Dungeon will still not add Blackrock Caverns or Throne of the Tides into the rotation.


Blackrock Caverns

Beauty now spawns with only two pups in Heroic difficulty. Not to worry though, the missing pup has been adopted by a wonderful, if not insane family.


Grim Batol

Faceless Corruptors now move 10% more slowly.
Players may still use spell and abilities while afflicted by Forgemaster Throngus's Impaling Slam.

She grew! She's now 175% the size of a human, up from 125%.

The size of the warning visual for Seismic Shard has been increased to more accurately reflect the area it affects.

Slabhide

The ground phase lasts longer and has fewer stalactites.

Ozruk

There is now a precast visual on the ground to make it clear how far away a player must get to be clear of Shatter.
The cast time of Shatter has been increased to 3 seconds, up from 2.5.
Shatter damage is now reduced by armor, but has been increased by 33.3% (repeating, of course) as a result.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that made Ozruk's Shatter knockback component 10-yard range while the damage had a 15-yard range. Both are 15 yards now.



Throne of the Tides

The damage done by Lady Naz'jatar's Shock Blast and Naz'jar Tempest Witch Chain Lightning has been reduced.
Tainted Sentries Swell damage has been reduced.

Creatures

Desperate Speed cast by Temple Adepts has had its duration reduced significantly.

Skyfall Stars are now summoned to help him defeat players.
Static Cling has had its cast time increased to 1.25 seconds, up from 1.

Bug Fixes

the shaman team should still work in arenas and rated bgs after the patch but if your team is in different groups in nonrated bgs that change sucks
but seriously I dont get it why do they buff earthquake I mean were the only spec with an useless 31 talent for pvp, blizz should buff rolling thunder for more mana and give elementals something like astral shift again or a defense cooldown
and change lightning shield glyph that the shield does no longer deal damage when you get attacked to stack up orbs, thats really a joke atm in duels vs melees I dont get more than 4 orbs at all

the joke is that blizz thinks elementals are fine because they can heal themself and others just because we dont need to switch any form .... jk healing surge 6k mana 10k heal
without focused insight up you cant even outheal a pet and that effect does no proc from wind shear

The 9% spell hit was added to a passive for all deathknights.


The spell hit bonus previously given by Virulence (Unholy) has been rolled into the Runic Focus passive effect that all death knights possess.

* The Windfury Weapon proc can now trigger 3 additional attacks, up from 2.
* Glyph of Hex now reduces the cooldown of Hex by 10 seconds instead of 15.

Elemental

* Lava Burst's damage has been increased by roughly 10%.





Hunters can, you just gotta have an auto shot counter, good latency and pause when it's just about time for another auto shot to go off.

With the patch hunters can autoshoot while moving without having to stop step every few secs.

the damage from lava burst should be fine then, with cooldowns up I'm doing about 42k instant lava bursts on dummies, I tried the fs ue lava burst tazik shocker combo yesterday on a 3950 resilience priest (42% dmg reduce) he dropped to <5% hp and died with the following flame shock tick, should be enough damage for quad boxers then
elemental damage should be fine after the patch compared to other classes, example feral druid looses his most important escape mechanism (no more root remove when shapeshifting), and warrior/dk damage is also nerfed, only mages seem still overpowered

It looks like they added stuff to the patch after the OP? I just realized how hard they are getting hit as well. Not being able to break roots is going to piss a lot of long time druids off. It was a druid’s primary strength IMO.

Of all the changes, I'm suprised the most with the druids nerf for roots. While druids have pissed me off from day one from that bs, it's also what defines them. They are also the only melee that stand a chance against a mage due to all the CC bs that mages have. I know people threaten to cancel accounts over stupid changes here and there, but I can honestly see this being one of those changes where people will quit. This will be nice for my DK rets for finishing those ferals that take off and disappear right before death, but I really feel their pain on this one.

Looks like everybody is getting hit by the nerfbat.

Unholy DK damage nerfed. Druid is gone. Hunter is nerfed. Rogue is also nerfed. Shaman lost bloodlust in arena.

I first thought Retribution paladin will come out alright. Now I am reading for -50% on hammer of wrath. So Retribution paladin is also nerfed.


The only winner, so far,

is fury warrior. Raging blow with all CD having a 300k max (300, not 30). Fury warrior is running around 1 shotting people on PTR.

2nd to that, is the frost mage 15% buff on Icelance. It is already criting for like 19k. Now Blizzard adds more.

and The sneaky warlocks are slowly back on top of the damage meter.

Thats strange because Blizzard specifically mentioned they nerfed icelance spam by making it hit 15% less hard on frozen targets. They did however buff frostbolt.

We did buff Frost Bolt. And we did buff Ice Lance when Fingers of Frost is up. However, we've decreased all Frost damage to Frozen targets by about 15% from previous values. The net result is intended to be that Frost Bolt is a little better against non-Frozen targets, and about the same versus Frozen targets. Ice Lance with FoF is still good, but Ice lance damage against Frozen targets is down a bit.

the 10% lava boost is a not a flat number, it's base damage, on a trainings dummy in pve gear it's a dps increase of a few 100 (2-300), where a lava burst hits about 1k harder. For boxers thats very nice of course, but it's not really a needed buff for shamans.

They just increased Spirit walk grace to 15sec. I can see what they are doing, rather than giving multiple buffs at once, they do one by one; and then check how it's going. None of these will solve the defensive / mana issues shamans have in pvp.

Restro Shamans seem to have gotten a bit better. If you go heavy spirit you get a really nice mana tide totem, and their mastery seems to have improved.

Will be nice to see how the tremor totem works, hope I am fast enough.

Hunters started as a pretty easy to play class that had some maintenance (keeping pets alive and happy required some effort) to a class that became too easy to play. And then with WotLK they somehow found a way to make it even easier. The change from mana to focus is, IMO, a good one, but it will take some time to properly balance it. Focus turns the hunter from a class with massive and extended burst to a class with a relatively short burst that can maintain DPS afterward only if they make an effort.

After years of not having to make an effort, bad/lazy hunters are dealing with a bit of shock IMO.

I assume that this is in conjunction with the change that will make warlock self-buffs a toggle instead of a fixed-duration. An always-on aura that provides a constant HoT might have been a bit more mindless than they wanted.

Fel armor normally provides an automatic 2% health regen every 5 seconds, which can be talented to 4%. With the large Cata health pools, that's some pretty huge regen (4000 to 5000 heal every 5 seconds!). Now it will be 3% of spell damage dealt, so it could be a lot less overall (or more, no idea atm). That's another of those areas that they may need to balance, but changing warlock auto-heals from passive to semi-active could wind up a nerf, but since it's pretty much a damage class in PVP it could be a big buff if they don't balance it properly.

In some ways, I'll agree. Guess it just depends on what you call "skill." And really, everything just got a whole lot more retarded in 4.0, so you could apply that to every class.
Back in the day it was wether or not you could kite Drak, stay away from rogues, Jump shoot, Triple trap.

For wotlk, an example of skill would be in melee range of an opponent and being able to use your surroundings as well as abilities to remove yourself from your opponent. Take a bunker (not tower) in AV for example. Jumping out into the donut hole, turning in mid-air and disengaging onto the other side, making the melee run all the way around while you rain pain on them.

You can even count having traps down at your feet BEFORE you engage, so you don't waste a gcd setting them while a melee opposition is moving toward or on you.

Locks WILL hit 35k dps this xpac, don't worry about that. We were doing near on 20k dps in ICC, minus 30% buff you are looking at roughly 15k dps. That's 3 times more than the dps at lvl 70. Which was roughly 3 times more the dps at 60. (top end dps). I'm sure our dps will at least double when we are rolling fully phat purples.

Either way, reading the PTR forums, it seems there is a lot of QQ by locks about it being a nerf. There was talk that they wanted to reduce passive healing by affliction locks, but considering they don't use fel armor much, it seems to be a small unintended nerf to the other builds instead.

Your hp doesn't scale up as fast as your dps in pve gear. I was 19-20k hp with 264 gear at 80, yet in full blues for around 16k hp. Unless you wear plate.

Well PVE dps is unrelated. and it is getting a nerf with 4.0.6 (a minor one, but still a nerf)

This is a pvp buff. and PVP is messed up as usual. Hint. Just look at Frost Mage (Do they reallly need another control/ ? hint, ROF)

This change gives unholy an anti-snare, and I think it was long due. The change was to bring unholy to be inline with Enhance shaman and Retribution Paladin on anti-snare front. Its almost like they took it out of druids, and just hand it to DK minus the anti-root part.

They seem to just be changing stuff, just for the sake of changing it. They completely disregard imbalance, and buff who ever they feel like.
DKs, the new druid class. Cool.

True, PvP damage and PvE damage don’t line up, but with all the interrupts / silences in the game now, I would say that only holds true for casters. It is easy as all hell to avoid a LOLmental Shammy’s damage, but good luck trying to stop a DK from beating the %$#& out of you (Even without this retarded change).

don't have much to say about elemental. They were good for a while in Wrath when burst was the name of the game. I guess elemental had its time. Enhance is not bad currently, at least you got 1 spec thats ok. When you compare unholy to warrior/Rogue/enhance shaman/ (not going to compare it with retribution, which currently sucks so bad), Unholy DK is just another melee in PVP. Not OP like feral druids right now.

Historically, melee is always more powerful at that beginning of an xpac or major content patch. As resilience grows melee gets weaker. Although with the changes to lust I am not sure how its going to play out atleast in arenas.

Just like this patch with LB getting 10% buff, if its not enough then it will get buffed again.

I don’t view this as a minor tweak. This isn’t like… Oh, 10% more damage to this ability, 2 sec off the CD on this ability, 1 second increased duration of this ability. This is as massive a change as taking root breaking away from druids. How do you stop a DK now? Literally... what is left?

Why would they give such a massive buff to a spec that is doing just fine. There has to be something I’m missing here...

They're still rootable and if you can just kite them for a few seconds their Unholy runes will cycle back around and they'll be snareable again.

What is the maximum range you can hit someone with a DK ability, that will consume an Unholy Rune?

I mean, Howling Blast could be used at a target 30 yards away, and that used the Frost Rune.
So it would be relatively easy to prioritize Howling Blast > Other moves, putting the Frost Runes on cooldown.

If you're in melee as Unholy, you would spam very quickly and prioritize the Unholy runes.
And because of the GCD and being in Unholy Presence, aside from the opening (2 moves, 2 seconds), the longest you'd have an Unholy rune available would be 1 move or 1 second.
But if they were to root your team, or ranged snare your team before closing to melee range, what are the options to deplete the Unholy runes?

Once someone is at range you've got two options: Anti-Magic Zone and Death and Decay. They both have long enough cooldowns that you won't be able to just spam them to get back your unsnarable every time you drop off target.

Why did Unholy get this buff? Why did Unholy get ANY buffs. Even if they are still stoppable, and they are by all means the most unstoppable class in the game right now, WHY on earth did they get a buff, and a buff of this magnitude? They gave the exact same thing to ghost wolf, and then nerfed it into oblivion.

What are they thinking with Druids. Why is Ele completely worthless? Is 10% lava damage really their answer?

There is no excuse for a game THIS mature to be this poorly thought out. I can sum that last sentence up in 2 words "Tol barad"


This is a company with about 11.5 million subscribers. NOT counting the Aprox 460 MILLION dollars they just sold in the Cata upgrades, they rake in around 170 Million dollars a month. In 2008 blizzard released figures showing that the total upkeep of the game (Original development costs, Hardware, employees, customer support) has cost 200 Million from 2004-2008. That's around 50 million a year. Giving my math the benefit of the doubt, they are raking in about 1.8 BILLION dollars each year from WoW. BILLION, with a capital B!

And this is the best they can come up with.

As for PVP, like I said, the change to unholy is just to further homogenize classes. To make it the same as enhancement shaman/Retribution paladin/Rogue/Feral Druid for anti snare. Chains of ice root is another step, making unholy exactly the same as enhance shaman. This change was long considered and scheduled, not something they came up out of the blue.

Whether unholy needs this change or not, I agree with you. Unholy doesn't need it. But this is blizzard's intend, to homogenize everything, so not much we can do about it. With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if elemental is getting an iceblock or at least something like shamanstic rage.

I immediately transfered one of my new Paladins over to PTR and went to a target dummy. Sure enough, it's exactly as advertised. If you are running Seal of Truth then Judgement, Exorcism, and even Holy Shock (used offensively, of course) will stack Censure on the target and proc the bonus percentage of weapon damage. The tooltip on the Seal of Truth buff even clearly states that all single-target attacks now trigger it.

I can't wait to start throwing this on anything and everything in pvp.

1. showing bh dps as proof to say ele is fine in pve ... thats not a very realistic way to do it. It requires hardly any movement, and in that movement phase we can use long cooldowns. every raid boss that requires movement (i.e. 80%+) makes ele sitting on the lower end of dps
2. you can't compare shaman specs with rogue/hunter/lock/mage. we have 3 roles, them just 1. i'm elemental shaman, i don't like enhance or healing at all. whereas when i play my dk for example, i care less if i play frost or unholy, depending on situation( pvp/pve ..)

I am not gonna argue with you guys that shaman is fine~. They are not fine. I merely pointed out a dummy dps case where shaman was in the middle. But then again, a lot of the classes/specs are not fine. Not everybody is DK/Warlock/Rogue/Hunter.

The game would never be balanced. and you just have to adapt and focus/enjoy the content.

So it procs seal damage too ?? i.e. I can just exorcism you from afar. That would stack the dot as well as proc the seal damage ?

If that's the case, ret dps is back~. I've already seen people reporting 10% dps increase on PTR vs live.

Dont know if im going crazy, but I am thinking that the Justice Points needed to buy the weapons increased.... I thought it was 2 weeks for the 1h and 3 weeks for the 2h. It looks like they added a week for each slot.
