So you're probably aware of this but Champions Onlione goes free to play sometime early this year.

There will be two types of account: gold and silver. Gold is for paying subscribers and gets you access to everything except additional stuff from the in-game store whihc costs extra (mostly costumes). Silver is for free to play and limits you very heavily as to what you can play, you also have to buy almost everything from the in-game store but you can level up all the way to max.

Champions Online can be multiboxed using Innerspace or any other multiboxing software that tricks the client into thinking it is the 'focus' window. The game has a 'follow' feature which also allows melee classes to get into range of targets (although it was a bit fiddly the last time I tried) and simple macro support.

I've already got a lifetime sub so it would be silly of me not to use it. I'm planning on rolling up two to four additional accounts, depending on what my PC can handle, and forming a superteam.

Is anyone else interested in the game or intending to do something with it?

I played it when it first launched, it was alright for a week or so. In the end it just gets so boring, it's easy as hell solo playing anyways. All the powers seem the same to me "do your little move to build up enough power for your big move" All classes play the same, no matter what powers you take. PVP in that game is crappy as well. Just a bunch of people running away from eachother. No balencing. Some guys need 4 people to ever kill, some guys are like Jackie Paper. lol so I guess that's a no from me. ha.

I tried the game out for a while and enjoyed it. It was a nice change of pace from the elves and dwarves we get so used to.

The game seemed to get pretty tough to solo in the 20s so I pretty much stopped. Free to play is an interesting development and I may go back to it at some time, but I'm having too much fun with WoW at the moment to dig in now.

I too have a Lifetime sub, that I got right when beta came out for a discount.
I loved the Pen and Paper rp game back in the day, and thought it would translate well to the Online experience.
It didn't really!

Still it was fun to play for short periods. It never really held my attention for longer than a few months. That could be due to WOW though, as Mercurio put, being too much fun.

I might give dualboxing a try, and if that works out graduate up to 5.

However I said that with LOTRO too, and have yet to get on with my my team.

For anyone interested in CO now that F2P has hit I've raised an issue on the IS Forums with how to get CO working so hopefully that will get sorted soon. Then I'll give it a whirl and report back.
