My group is 80, all greens. Caster gear dropped up the ass, so my Shaman was almost decked out in blues by the end of the instance. However, Chain Heal is nigh useless, I have to cast it 4 or 5 times to heal 50%....it used to be wayyy more useful than that. I might as well just click click click through healbot.
I'm pretty much burned out. I've only been playing Cata for a few days and have no motivation to level to 85 at all. BRC and ToD piss me off to no end, and there's no way in hell I am going to level in a water world. Doubt I will upgrade my accounts after the 10day trial is up. I don't think I would enjoy grinding BRC for points when I'm 85...fuck that.
Ummm yeah....I doubt I could make it through hc without putting a gun to my head.
Eve Online.....I hear your beckoning....
*edit*
Oh yeah, a pretty awesome glitch happens to me on the first boss. Hmm a glitch.....something I'm so used to with IWT, the buggy piece of shit it is.
*edit2*
On the second boss my tank dies (wasn't paying attention). The cool thing about this group is, all I have to do is mouse over to my druid and shift into bear form. She has a macro ready to go in case of MT death :D Worked perfectly.

first 90 seconds: Reason I will never level on a pvp server ever again.

you're level 80, your HP pool will go up dramatically as you level and make it way easier.

Give it another few tries, I also found BRC pretty rough at level 80 with my melee team but it got far easier with a bit of practice. The 2nd boss is definitely the worst, especially on heroic mode, but you can actually skip her if you want to by clearing to the bridge, exiting the instance and re-entering (a portal to the third boss will be to your left). You might want to avoid Throne of the tides for now, but when you hit level 83 give Vortex Pinnacle a shot (very easy for melee) :D
Another thing you may want to consider is running dual healer's since you have the classes to make it possible. When I hit 85 I tried to start on Heroics right away and found them pretty tough, some were definitly doable with 1 healer but double healer made them so much more comfortable (I used Resto Shaman + Holy Paladin).
If you decide to give questing a shot, there is no reputation associated with the water world so you can just skip it all together (I did).

My paladin at level 80 in full frost icc25 ilev264+ gear had 54k hp unbuffed. After questing to 85, the blue rewards put him at 134k hp unbuffed. I think around 10-15k hp were granted at each level. I expect to be at 150k+ unbuffed by the time I max factions and pick up around 3 blue drops from heroics. Then its raid time.
Im getting a lot of Earthen Ring rep in water world.
I also second the use of 2 healers. It can make some encounters go from rage quit to facerolling it.

I sorta feel teh same way as the op here. Cata sucks, the stats scale down, and its just going backwards right now. Everything is irritating to play. I have ran some solo heroics, and shit ain't any different. Wipes and tons of them. Healing especially is horrible. So gimped.
I just feel cheated with the way they did this. I'm playing less and less lately.

Wait, are you saying that he should level up before doing BRC because hit HP will go up dramatically? Isn't that a way of saying wait til he overgears the instance? Once you've quested through all of the Cata zones, your gear will be better than anything you can get in BRC anyway, so what would be the point of going back?
Am I missing your point or being dense or something?
/me is so confused.

just saying not to get discouraged, he's doing a cata instance with wrath HP pools and eating a lot of aoe being melee heavy. i don't think there's been an expansion where the game mechanics were so drastically changed in the form of hitpoints literally being multiplied by 4-5 over 5 levels. it may not be so bad for a traditional pve boxer 1 tank, 3 ranged dps 1 healer group at 80 but for a melee group (blood DK groups are an exception) you are going to find it very difficult if not impossible.

With more practice I'm able to fly through this instance now. It's so weird, my dps hasn't gotten any upgrades, yet the instance is much easier now. I'm still 80 (trials do not let you hit 81).
Caster gear continues to drop in BRC and now my shaman is decked out, yet chain heal still sucks balls.
Looks like practice makes perfect. I've become so comfortable playing a melee group I honestly think a lot of these encounters would be harder with a ranged team.
What I liked about WOTLK is once I got to about 73, I was overleveled for at least two instances. This meant I could grind them very easily with no downtime. I always had a few instances to choose from at any given level that I could breeze through. Now I only have 1 option - BRC....over and over and over and over again.
