I have a G11, I never did get any use out of it. I use Xkeys Pro instead. That works with multiplexers. G11 was just to damn big. I'm not sure on the newer G series keyboards, maybe they're smaller now.

I honestly preffered a nostromo pad along with a standard keyboard and mouse. A nice mouse with additional buttons is something I'm looking at buying soon.

I have a G11 and couldnt do without it. but then again I use ISBoxer and that has native support for it.
for example I have my shamans totems on the Gkeys in 1 block, I have oh shit buttons on another block so i dont have to press difficult button combos, I have buffs and stuff on another block. I just find it useful to have the extra 22 buttons ( and they can utilize modifiers too.. ) as hotkeys for ISBoxer.

I never found I needed anything more than a regular keyboard. Got one with lighted keys so I could see it in the dark.

Okay, maybe I should look into that Xkey thing..

I use a X-keys Pro USB which I ordered direct from P.I Engineering shipped to Australia cost me $295 AU total. A real bargain compared to their AU Resellers price. :)

I also use a Logitech G110. It is the same as a G15 except it has two rows of G-Keys instead of one and it has no stupid LCD screen. If I want a screen I have monitors. :)

I put alot of stuff on the G110 keys like:

Drop AoE Totems
Drop PvE Totems
Drop PvP Totems

Bloodlust
Fire Ele Totem
Mana Tide Totem
Thunderstorm RR & Thunderstorm on All

Those are all on the keys closest to my hand using the WASD keys. On the outer set I put stuff like.

Toggle DPS on/off on Resto Shaman
PvE to PvP Change Spec/Gear Toggle
Cast Earthquake on All
Toggle IWT with Melee DPS
Clear All Repeater Regions
Console Reload UI
Toggle ISBoxer RR/Click Bars Panel

etc

On my X-Keys I put stuff like:
Clear All Focus Targets
Toggle CC type between Hex / Bind Elemental on Shaman 1,2,3,4.
Set Raid Icon/Focus Target on Shaman 1,2,3,4.

I use this for setting up all my pulls in heroics/normals in PvE

Hope this gives you a rough idea on the uses for all the extra keys and ISBoxer handles both natively, make sure you 'undefine' all the G-Keys and delete any macros bound to the X-Keys Pro in its software. :D

GL on your search!

I have the G15 with the one column of G keys on the left. I've never really used any of the actual Logitech macro functionality but those 6 extra keys make all the difference for me when boxing. I'm not sure Id use any more than that though. That's why I'm holding off on the new G510. It looks pretty nice and it's getting good reviews so, maybe check that out if you don't mind the size and want some extra buttons.

I love my G11... I literally wore out my #2 button.

I got a G510 that is the new G11... smaller, no usb ports, added screen, isn't natively supported by isboxer.

It has it's pros and it's cons. I'd recommend to anyone that boxes a G11. They are bad ass. I have a basically unused XKeys pro.

I've got a G15, the original version with 18 G-Keys.
Depending on the team, I use 8-14 of those keys.

I also have the M1, M2, M3 (which with the Profiler Software, switches which bank of G-Keys you're using, ie G1-G18 = 01-18 (on M1) or 19-36 (on M2) or 37-54 (on M3)), which I use for Keymaps On/Off, Keyboard Repeating(Broadcasting) On/Off and Mouse Repeating On/Off.

I like that the M1-M3 keys are lit up, so I can do toggles in IS Boxer, which turn the light on when Repeater is on, and turns the keyboard light off when Repeater is off.

Could get by with fewer keys, but I personally would not want to.
If the new G510 has the full 18 keys, and M1-M3, I'll probably pick a couple up.
Just as "backups" for the G15.

G-15 keyboard is what I've used for a few years now and love it. For one thing they are very durable and mine is still working perfectly. I ran through cheapo's like crazy.

The G keys have lots of uses. One use for mine was to find rare mobs. Just made the macro and had my G key repeat. Also has the ability to run several macros at once and have them automatically repeat.

For example I made a macro just using the macro record feature to strafe my slaves left and right automatically during heavy movement fights.

Anyway- think I paid 80 bucks US 3 years ago for my G15 and it's been worth every penny and more.

Exactly this... I use MR as key repeater, M1 Key Maps are On, M2, CTM is turned on, M3 Mouse Repeating is enabled... Etc... by far one of my favorite parts to this. Yes I could have used a click bar, text notifications etc... ISboxer didn't have that option when I set my stuff up :)

The G19 has a programmable set of events that you can code for with lua for each key and each mode. This is distinct from the basic macro / hdi setup.

Some distinct examples I have my backspace key throttled when in M2 to only allow a set number of key smashes per second, after that number is hit it drops the backspaces and doesn't pass them.

In M2 when I press H/J/K three times in a row within 2 seconds it will remap key for backspace to be ctrl-backspace until I press numpaddivide (my all in one / buff / smartres button). This is a hack for when I freakout at the keyboard and want to do some healing, but I have the healer dedicated to a rotation of some sort ctrl-backspace is what the multiplexer expects for a all dps minus the healer.

The keyboard knows how many copies of wow I am running and the paths (even if you don't allow the wow modules to run), you use that potentially. I have not looked into knowing if the character name is available to the key events. Potentially that could be interesting.

When my multiplexer is toggled off, certain keys are noop ... breathalyzer key essentially.
