I have a 5box team which just completed questing in Mount Hyjal and they are 81.5 now. If I don't want to go to Vashj'ir due to the huge amount (in my opinion) of gathering quest and I dislike boxing under water as well; are my only options dungeon or battleground now? Cause Deepholm won't work until lvl 82 right?

i did not do Vashj'ir at all and no battegrounds.

I skipped Vash till I was done with every other zone. I dont recall what level I was when I finished Hyjal, but I rolled right into Deepholm w/o any problems and no rested xp etc a day after launch. Pretty sure I got the Deepholm starter quest off the bulletin board.

The board quest that sends you to Deepholm won't become available until 82.

I just started with my group, but I leveled them individually to 81 in Vash'jir first, because it takes like an hour or two via the quests. It was repetitive and boring, but didn't take long and the hunters in my group got the quest bow (279 DPS) which was a nice DPS boost for them from the 138/186 DPS weapons they had.

If you're halfway to 82 you can try Vash'jir just for the last bit of exp you need, though I cringe at the thought of trying to multibox that zone. It's difficult enough as a solo character. On the other hand, players seem to avoid it like the plague, so you can usually quest in peace and don't have to stand in line for mobs or drops.

I had no rested at all, and camped in Hyjal (without the inn bonus, for some reason could not find an inn that gave rested). The team did every single quest and left at 81.90.

Then did every quest in Vashj'ir, then Deepholm. Was 30% into 83rd at the end of Vashj'ir. And barely into 84th by the end of Deepholm.

I've barely started Uldum, maybe 20-25% through the zone and am 60% through 84th.

Ualaa, you should skip Uldum, it is the worst zone for multiboxing. Get the twilight highlands breadcrumb and finish 84 off there. Twilight Highlands is easily the best MB zone in the expansion with many of the quests MB friendly.

I Agree. Uldum was a never-ending nightmare of phasing, cut scenes and crappy quests in general. I wanted to puke every time I saw a continuation of the Harrison Jones questline.

I am trying a different approach.

1 ) Level my tanks individually to lvl 85 and gear them properly.
2 ) Discover instance entrances with the other toons and level them instancing.

So far I have leveled my tanks almost 100% instancing. After I hit lvl 85 I did the hyjal quests... all of them for the gold and reputation. Other than that, my tanks have only the portal opening quests from the other zones... don't think I will do all the quests there because phasing and cutscenes are just boring.

Another possibility : level archeology a bit but I fear that doing that on 5 characters at the same time would be a nightmare :(

I found Vashj'ir not that much of a shitty zone. Maybe that was because i already did some quests on the beta. Just make yourself mad and do them all in one day, if you level up to 82 you can go straight to a new zone :)

I didn't liked Uldum either, lots of annoying quests. I was stuck there aswell because one quest was bugged. It was the survival guy that i couldn't see. When i abandoned the quest, and did some research and used /reload ui and running away from the guy and zoning back in i was able to continue with the quests.

You can try to do some PvP, but i don't think it is worth it 15 minutes queue. You can try to combine random BG's with dungeons and/or kill quests.

I'm just following a quest stacking thing.
The Zygor guide, which is pretty much a waste of money with how they implemented quests.. would have been worthwhile, if they were random in what you could take and when (like BC/WotLK).

Anyway, have done every quest in every zone.
Some are annoying, many are not.
Hyjal on opening day was the most annoying.
I've had slow collections in every zone, but nothing that bad yet.

Awww, it was fun to single box through:)

The Harrison Jones quests tend to wear you out even as a single boxer after a while. Eventually you feel as if you're being dragged off into another cinematic every couple of minutes. It tells a nice story, but it just feels excessive. Or maybe that's how I feel after completing it three times. :x

I'm still not sure what kind of special crack you guys are smoking. Twilight being better? I'm about 20 quests in and 1/2 of them have been collection quests so far! Give me a cut scene any day over this!

It's not simply the quests are better... It's a bit more then that actually

Each quest gives substantially more xp then Uldum quests to start with because Uldum is an 83 zone.

Twilight has SOME gather quests but once you get out of the main start area there are very few that are collections. Much better area, much faster and much more xp.

Uldum is fun once, after that it's like bashing your head into the wall....It feels good when it's over.

I am on my 2nd team. I don't know about other servers. But on my server, Twilight highland has this crazy server lag spike that seems to be specific just for this zone. I lose follow all the time. and I get lag spikes where I cannot perform any action. Only in this zone.

I notice this because all other players in the same zone report the same lag. and my friends who are elsewhere are all fine.

edit: this just started recently. I did not have this problem on my first team when I just hit this zone.

TH zone wide lag spike? You wouldn't happen to be on Ner'zhul?

There are a TON of phased areas in TH, I think this is what is causing you lag and follow issues.

On my single toons I've followed this route:

Hyjal 80-82+
Vash 82-83
Uldum 83-84
TW 84-85

Like others have said Uldum was fun the first time after the 3rd time I wanted to scream every time a cut scene came up.

for my pal/shams I went with full zone quests (yay for silly achievements)
vash 80-82+
deepholm 82-84+

currently at 10% into 84, may go back and do hyjal or may jump straight to TW

Hyjal 80-82
Deepholm 82-83
Uldum 83-84 (cmon its not that bad)
TH 84-85

Im surprised by the amount of people who didnt hit 82 in hyjal... I wasn't even trying and still was a good bit over 82.

With no rested at all, Hyjal got me to 81.92.
Pretty, with even a minimal amount of rested either of Hyjal/Vashj'ir is 80-82.

On my 4 shammies, I did all of Hyjal first (finished at 82.5), then Deepholm until I hit 84 (a quest bugged out as well which prevented me from progressing any further in the zone) then finished off in Twilight highlands.

I had already lvled my prot pally to 85, and I work away so when I finally got to my shammies, the zones were empty. I also did 1 thing to keep the lvling interesting, every time I picked up a collection quest, I did a BG (eots weekend yay :P). I did a LOT of BGs lol. About 50 wins - 3 losses, the xp/hour wasn't too bad.

Also, because I was the only one in resilience (full wrathful) I kinda dominated more than usual, especially at 84.

Great point - I did hit Vash with full rested
