hiyas all

I was playing EQ in 2004 when WoW was released ... i bought the game and got a char to level 14 and quit before the 30 days was up ... in 2008 i tried it again and bought BC and WOTLK but all i did was add those to my account and played for about 5 mins and continued on with LOTRO which i still play and box ... with that said

I received the latest WoW expansion for free so i figured what the heck .. i redownloaded and added the key to my account

I picked a Worgen and played through the starter area where im transformed into a worgen ... and something clicked with the story this time and im really digging it ... my main problem all these years has been graphics but the story trumped graphics this time and now im kinda attached to this worgen i made ...

So with all that said .. i DO NOT LIKE mmo's usually unless im boxing and I would like to box WoW ...

QUESTION: what is the current cheapest way to pick up all 3 exansions plus vanilla ... a lot of mmos usually have a package of all previous expansions bundled when a new one is released but this doesnt seem to be the case with WOW that i can find ... i did find a battle chest at best buy that had vanilla + burning Crusade

Is there a package that has Vanila + BC + WoTLK that i am missing somewhere before i buy the battle chests + WoTLK + CATA
??

or do i have to buy battle chest + WoTLK + CATA to get caught up

little bit too late :( they just had a sale where you could get it all really cheaply before cata. Doubt your going to get cata cheaply atm.

im not looking to get cata cheap as i understand thats a new expansion ...

what did i miss BTW?

im looking for an all in one option that may be cheaper for WOW + BC + WoTLK for all three instead of ala carte if such an animal exists

it seems at the moment best i can find is

battle chest for 30-39 dollars
WoTLK for 33-39 dollars
and CATA for 39 dollars

seems like a lot to pay between 100 and 120 dollars plus a monthly fee for a game per account ... i would just assume they would have liek a 40 - 50 dollar battle chest that includes WoW + BC + WoTLK then buy cata at full price since its new ...

i guess when you get over a hundred dollars to get "caught up on a video game" before monthly fees its like a mind barrier or something ... wierd i wouldnt think twice about about WoW + BC + WoTLK + CATA for 99.99 or less but that over a hundred mark is like a barrier heh

heh at this rate in 5 years it will be over 200 or 300 to get all the expansions up to date before your first monthly fee

There was a black friday sale where you could get vanilla, burning crusade and wrath of the lich king for $20 total. I dont imagine a battlechest including wrath being released til summer, maybe christmas even. I imagine the store prices are $10-15 for battlechest and $30 for wrath. Check the wow website and see how much they cost there.

Just buy vanilla first

Since you already played wow earlier without succes and quitted, maybe you dont like it at all, then you at least save yourself some cash.

Go with Battle Chests, at the moment.
That's Vanilla/Classic + Burning Crusade, for a couple bucks more than either of them.
Almost half the cost of both.

Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm, are the expensive part, each costing full price.

I would imagine, in the near future (3-6 months, but purely guessing), as the existing Battlechests sell out... Blizzard will create a new Battlechest which will include Classic + Burning Crusade + Wrath of the Lich King (basically following Sony's very successful example with their battlechest like programs -- everything except the current expansion).

I have not checked but ebay may have vanilla and or battlechest cheapernthan stores. Some people try to buy black friday items and resell them later. Since battlechest was ten dollars back then you might find some resellers.
