This is mostly for PvP as thats my focus; I use Keyclone also;

Hi all, was tempted to get a melee team going and i have my CTM on and IWT keybound to F. Now my question is, do i need to hit IWT for pvp all the time while smashing my ability macros bound to another key? or is there a way to write IWT into my melee abilities macros?

So for example

Howling blast = keybind to #1
IWT = keybound to "F"

Do i have to smash F key and #1 at the same time?

Any answers would be appreciated

I used to box Frost DK + 4 Ret Pallys. IWT is great, but I always had the "problem" of my toons running in circles around the target when spamming it. "Problem" because if your target is trying to use directional spells/attacks against you, then circling them like that can break LOS quite easily.

What I ended up doing was only using IWT if my main toon was dead. Since I had my 4 pallys follow strobing on the DK, and the DK was speced into Chilblains and other slowing attacks, I would position the DK on the far side of the target and turn around. This put the target between the DK and the Pallys. Since the target was slowed, I would move the DK backwards, side to side, etc. to keep my target between us.

One thing that used to be really fun with that setup was to hit the target at range with something that would proc Chilblains, Grip them to me, and move forward slightly while they were in mid air. They would land in between me and the Pallys, and I'd press my Go-To button. That was usually Frost Strike for the DK and 4x Crusader or Divine Storm on the Pallys. Good times...

YMMV

Every time you hit IWT your character recomputes and executes a path to the target. If the target is mobile in any way your going to be running as you an see if most melee "maypole dance" videos. This pathing also queues with latency, so running off into the distance, the obvious attacking the next mob targeted moments after you have pressed IWT, and most annoying I think looting corpses in combat.

Anyways you don't want to chain your IWT with every DPS spell your melee guy casts more than you have to to get the character at the hitbox. On movement fights and in PvP obviously people need to keep up with the target and they find the run around disorientating and funny. Looking at the videos of people doing it its hard not to see why it should be removed from the game as used. It just looks like an exploit on its face.

You for sure don't want to automate the IWT key and your DPS key to be both sent via the multiplexer. You could code the multiplexer to rotate two keys IWT on the first press, DPS on the second, IWT on the third, DPS on the fourth, etc (likely a IWT,DPS four times, IWT, DPS four times) off one physically pressed key.

Having DPS keys, a manual "all melee dps IWT", then in the multiplexer "IWT/DPSxn" rotation asym key, maybe a "IWT/DPS" tight loop asym key if needed for some reason.

The IWT/CTM circling (SPAMMING IWT), is beneficial in pvp... in pve, selective pressing (not spamming) is probably better.

It confuses the opposition more than static dps from one side.
And lets you stay with them, as they move; especially if you're faster and/or they're slower via debuffs etc.
When you're behind, they don't dodge/parry/block, which is a tradeoff from not always being on target.

You have to deal with your toons running off, no fix for that as it is how game pathing works.
You can re-send IWT, either the same target or another.
Or quickly issue a Follow command.

Occasionally your camera will uncontrollably circle about.
Fix this by right clicking anywhere on the ground, to "orient" your position.

Not sure that Keyclone supports alternating keys.
Where one thing is sent on press 1, and another on press 2.
Which some addons or software can change to Press = Action A, and Release = Action B.

I would probably change your bindings to something like 1 & 2 (DPS & IWT).
IWT is not on the Global Cool Down, so a penny across the keys so both are mashed together would work quite well... I'd just mash both keys, and not glue anything to the keyboard =p.
