Hi all,

I was introduced to this site a little more that a week ago, and thought the idée of dual, or multi-boxing was just amazing.

Since I already spent several hours appreciating this forum and the experience here in. I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself and chare my initial experience. By the way I live in Sweden and play at Al’Akir-EU.

I played WoW mainly before TBC came out. Once TBC was out and I hit 70 with my shaman I got bored. Multiboxing however brings a new twist to it….

So Friday I ordered (and picked up) 3 x computers with

AMD SEMPRON 3600+ AM2 64-BIT
Kingston 1024 MB DDR2 667MHZ
DIAMONDMAX10 80GB DMA1SATA
LG DVD+-RW DL
Palit pcie 7300LE 128MB/512MB DVI TV,DDR3

Not the hottest spec I the world but serves the purpose well ;)
I also picked up 3 pre-owed 15” monitors.

I hade two computers before. One sort of new and the other one 2-3 years old. I also had a 24” Dell and a 19” Dell.
I already hade 2 WoW accounts. For the 3 additional accounts needed I signed 3 guest/trial account.

So Friday was installing the 3 computers, sorting out the additional accounts and have Synergy and stuff sorted. Saturday I started my five-boxing experience. I use the modified Synergy with key broadcasting for control of the 5 computers.

My 5 – box party consists of 5 x orc shamans. The main reason for this it: Im lazy. I played shaman before. And having more than 1 class would never work (I had trouble remembering the key bindings on one char). I know a 5 man shaman set up i already out there, and frankly i’ll take my hat of for team xbox. I will never get that good. Xbox, your videos are just amazing.

So far I think multiboxing is wonderful. Although there has already been quite a few /w and chat in general about me. And a serious amount of ppl thinking I’m botting. But I guess that goes with the territory.

One thing worth mentioning is when using the trail account you can not trade, use auction house and thinks like that. That causes a problem because I usually loot every thing with my main. So the char on trial account don’t really have loot to sell. And I can’t pass money from my main to these trails. So it’s hard to get $ to train new spells and things like that.

Hello fellow Swede! Just like you I got bored and quit after 70, only to find multi-boxing made things much more interesting. Gonna reroll on Sporeggar with old raiding buddies, eventually.

Are you going to buy new WoW right now, or wait until we (hopefully) get hold of lower price ones? The US can get new boxes for $9.99, the cheapest I've seen here is El-Giganten for 160-ish SEK.

Im playing this week, using the trial account, after that I’m off on a 2 week vacation. When I come back I guess I’ll buy as cheep as I can. But I wont sit around waiting for prices to drop.

Anyone that has converted a trial account to a real one once the trial period ended?

Who does that work? Do I still need to pick up a copy of WoW in a store, or can I take care of that online?

I bought another WoW account from the official site last week, paid $19.99 but they gave me a month free. Might still be valid, I'll find out in a day or 2 when I grab yet another account.

On my Second and 3rd box to get 2 free months on my main account i would do "recruit a friend" and input the code then after the 10 days went to Walmart and got the cheap 10 $ wow and fully upgraded.

since i recruited a friend after the first paid month your main will get 1 month free.

i'm not sure of prices over there but the cheapest i have seen is Regular wow@ 9.99 and TBC for 13.99 .

That is what i done... i think the cost for wow i still abit higher in Sweden then in the states, but i just invested in 3 computers and 3 15" monitors so i guess a couple of $ more wouldn't kill me...

I am in canada but when compusmart was going out of business i picked up my 60 day play cards for 20 bucks for 2 months as well as a couple copies of both wow (9.99$ ) an d TBC for 13.99 .

remember when multi-boxing as expensive as athe set ups get shaving off a few bucks always helps.

one of my friends once seen a price error in a Staples ad for the 60 days cards , for 19.99$ and he bought 20 boxes of 60 day cards . lots of money upfront but that gives him 60days for 20 $ or 33 cents a day.

For some reason, TBC is much more expensive than the regular retail WoW box over here in Sweden. Looks like I'll wait until both of my priests have hit 57 (just to feel more obligation to level faster) before buying :(

Any EU player looking for trial accounts to try multiboxing with - send me a pm, I've got ten to share so I don't do something crazy like rigging up several players.

Mini-site about my dualboxing ventures coming.. when I manage to take a break and produce it! This is so much fun!

Just a note, TBC was available for $25 per copy, free shipping on Amazon yesterday.

Still up there, but $33 per copy now. Still free shipping.
