So what's the new perks to engineering? I see nothing good for boxers anymore. Since the nerfs to nitro boots.

Anyone else drop it for another ?

I dropped Engineering on my shaman and replaced it with Alchemy. Since I rarely pvp, the only benefits I really got from engineering were the portable mailbox and Jeeves. It's much nicer knocking down a minimum of 1k gold a day with alchemy.

Electrostatic Condenser (http://www.wowhead.com/item=67494) is nice if your other profession is gathering.

Engineering enchants now can stack with normal enchants, although they've been reduced (example: the AGI bonus removed from flex underlay)

I like Engineering, have you seen the Tazik Shocker glove enchant? Also, the cogwheel gems are nice.

my question would be, how is the new boomerang thinger ? does it work like i'd hope it does, on use loot a nearby corpse?

The loot-a-rang is ok. Would have been a godsend for multiboxers if it worked without having to target a corpse but other than that, works as advertised. Target corpse, hit loot-a-rang, corpse gets looted to you. Useful for those corpses that land on a slope.

I made the Epic Head thing on all 4 of my shaman which gives you a great head piece plus I put 208 haste and 208 mastery cogwheels in it, I have a 18,000 damage shield on my belt, and I put 480 int to gloves usable for 12 seconds every 60 seconds.

So I'm really happy with engineering.

500 nodes later and only 12 volatile air.... that thing is worthless.

I get a volatile air every 5th node or so, i have 100 ore picked up and 22 volatile air just from mining. lucky i guess

Yeah I thought the rate was about 15% although I haven't tracked it myself.

Looking at that, I think i'll stay with eng. Thanks for the info. That belt is great for bursty incoming dmg.

Honestly, after looking at the perks I dropped 450 Eng on my DK's and pleveled JC up to 500. Here's the skinny:

You can't use ANY of the Engineering perks that get attached to your armor in arenas or rated BG's. No 18k shield on your belt, no Tazik Shocker on your gloves, no parachute cloak, no nitro boots. Period.

The Cogwheel sockets are just for the epic Eng helm. It's nice, but next tier there most likely won't be a new helm and you'll want to replace it.

That means for pvp Eng is basically the worst profession right now. Sigh.

Haven't leveled the Engineering yet, but was planning to.
This primarily for BG's/Rated BG's, but if you cannot use the toys, what's the point?

Currently sitting at 5x Alchemy 525 and 1x Enchanting, 1x Herbalism, 1x Mining, 1x Skinning, 1x Open.
I don't farm much, but figured get some Herbs/Ore, while leveling.

The Tazik Shocker actually does work inside rated arenas as do the Synapse Springs, however the belt shield does not (I just confirmed this in a rated match a few minutes ago). Any item with an on use Engineering enhancement will say "not usable in arenas" in red text when you highlight it during an arena match, but the glove enchants indeed work. I am not sure what to make of this text as it was also on every other on use item I had, including both trinkets...one being a Medallion of the Horde. :confused::confused:

It's very possible that the glove enhancements are not suppose to work, yet they are due to a bug...however I have been able to find any official statements on this one way or the other.

(to bad its ground target but if you have that set up and you go against another boxer with 5 guys on the same spot, no idea if it hits more then one but ground target spells ususally do .....)
