Hi all,
so we have dailies pretty much for every faction but I am wondering about what instances are worth trying to run purely to farm rep. I have done the lost city trash mobs a few times and it gets "ok" rep for reasonably easy kills.
Is anyone else just farming instances for rep? If so what are you averaging per hours etc?
Thanks for the insight

Don't know my averge but normal Halls of Origination is good, 7 bosses at 150 per. Actually one of the few instances that have *gasp* actual tank and spank bosses. Except for that Setesh... oh I hate that guy... or at least his stupid gates. The others are easy though.

And lots of trash in GB, but tougher trash, out of the normal 85 dungeons.

I've just been alternating those two, and killing the only 3 heroic bosses that I have down on a daily basis for rep.

As longshot above alluded to, there are 3 normal lvl 85 instances (Lost City, Grim Batol and Halls of Origination) you can get rep with a tabard at, so you don't have to do heroics for rep. And you can reset the normal instances after you clear them, so that seems like better rep/hr than heroics.

If your sole concern is reputation...
Do you get rep, with the new factions, in level 80 normal dungeons?

It seemed like I got the most rep from Normal GB. The insane amount of trash there helps. Halls may be more with the bosses but you are not getting a 5 pack trash every 40 ft like GB.

Which heroic bosses are you able to down?

Sorry for late replay, at the time of the post, I was doing the 1st and 2nd boss in SFK, and the 1st boss in VP. The first boss in VP should be the first boss anyone attempts as they scale up the heroic gearing curve. Pretty straight forward tank/spank.

Boss #1 in SFK would be the second one, not a huge gear check, just make sure you have your interrupts down pat. Then boss #2 in SFK is real simple. I skipped the 3rd boss in SFK for the first few days until I geared up a bit more.... just drag him back to the courtyard to kill, no adds other then initial 2.

Edit: forgot all about Baron Silverlaine, he is quite easy compared to the others.

Didn't see any other threads about heroic progression.

I've been killing the 3 named you mentioned (first in VP and first 2 in SFK) and will keep doing that. From what you said, you stayed in SFK and worked on the 3rd named?

I can start looking at that one.

Any other tips for named to add to my list?

The first named was just wiping me right and left, turns out biggest issue I had was my aoe healing not working right, change it around and was able to heal fine through the last phase. Still have some issues where I get a strangulate right before the transform, but better at adjusting to that now.

Heroic Bosses progression for me was:

1st Boss in VP
1st boss in SFK
2nd boss in SFK (real easy)
4th boss in SFK (just move when he glows green... strafe back and forth... my dps goes to zero during this time, but he's super easy)

After a few days of farming these 4... i did:

3rd boss in SFK, kiting back to courtyard, stay out of his consecrate or dnd area, kill adds first. even with these workarounds he's a pretty good gear check

Then I did 2nd boss in VP which in hindsight is probably easier then 3rd boss in SFK, which then opens up the last boss in VP which is easy... just bind a key so entire group jumps, and watch bar for static cling (which you should be use to doing after farming Baron Ashbury for a few days)

Then did last boss in SFK. Just tank him pointing away from group, wait until pistol barrage before running behind (avoid turning him at all costs until he goes into that mode). Be ready with decurse for the debuff and setup aoe's for the adds. Basically just use the guides in the Heroic SFK threads that's what got me through these guys.

Somewhere in there you should be able to do the first bosses in Deadmines and the first boss in BRC, but honestly I haven't had much luck in those two after the initial bosses... so don't really farm them... I got the 8 above to farm for honor and orbs, which has gotten me almost to 346 on all my toons (provided you're doing tabard/rep thing as well)... I used the blue PvP bracers and relics to fill out those spots so a few days of random BG's for those can help, and the purple caster belts are getting pretty cheap on my server.

Exactly what I was looking for.
