Leveling 4x paladins 1-85 worth it?

Im thinking about leveling 4 paladins 1-85, they seem like fun, and should be able to heal a tank up from LFG. Anyone has an idea? I heard they are crappy atm on 85.

I have several single toons, and Ive run 85 heroics, with pally healers, and pally tanks. the play style is different from the Wrath style of "run in, AOE, blow up stuff, loot epics"

I think you should be fine.

Rets are more than fine in instances.
You won't have an issue healing an appropriately geared tank, with a Pally healer.

If you want to play Pallies, go for it.

If you're gonna try to pvp, Prot might be the way to go. Massive survivability, decent DPS.

Rets are more than fine in instances.
You won't have an issue healing an appropriately geared tank, with a Pally healer.

If you want to play Pallies, go for it.
The critical point here is "Pally healer." If you go 4 rets, in my experience you will NOT be able to adequately heal a decently geared tank. If your tank is way overgeared for the content, you may be OK.

Why not 5? Good choice as paladin is one of the two classes capable of performing well in all aspects of the game (Tank/DPS/Heal).

The OP's comment referenced healing a tank from LFD. Presumably, this is a question that questions if they'd be viable having tanks from the dungeon finder tool while having a healer as the 5th in arenas/rated BGs.

I don't believe, at this stage in the game, it's feasible to heal a random tank through heroics with 4x ret palys (I assume what you're asking). Even if 4xWoG could keep up with average dmg intake (which I don't believe it would), there is just a ton of different healing mechanics that you'd be ill-equipped to handle.

Maybe this will change with gear, and I could be wrong since I haven't actually tried. Just thought I'd give you my impression from having a semi-geared retribution paladin at the moment.

Ret Pallys are terrible AE healers in my current experience, although I don't have the lvl 81+ AE healing skill.

I use 1 Tank, 3 Rets and 1 Holy. The 3 Rets can recover some DPS lost due to speccing one Holy by using their Holy Power on DPS abilities. The Holy heals via Grid-Clique and is not including in the IWT spam, but he stays in range to Judge.
