View Full Version : [WoW] Easiest Heroic Cata Dungeon to multibox

I've been working on leveling 5 teams and haven't done much Cata Dungeons at all. I would like to get a hold of some chaos orbs for crafting tho and would like to try and multibox a heroic once a day per team.
I'm not the best multiboxer right now.. so the closest to Tank 'n Spank the better.
My teams are setup with a Pally Tank, Shaman healer, Boomkin DPS and a hunter/mage/shadow priest taking up the other 2 slots.
Any suggestions?

I would say the easiest I found so far is SFK. Most of the bosses are tank n spank. First boss is all about interrupting, no movement required. Second boss is a simple tank and spank get adds stuff. involves 0 moving. 3rd boss you can skip him, he is a pain in the ass and considered one of the hardest heroic bosses (although you can beat him if you pull right). Fourth boss is all about moving left and right all your clones or even jump when he does the poison aoe (you will see a green glow on him when he does that) and no movement on red (stand still, but can cast, like Shade of Aran fire thing in Karazhan). Last boss you don't need to move except the tank when he does the barrage, very easy to dodge but may be a dps check, you will know when he does it since he crosses his arms when he is about to pull it off.
P.S. Vortex Pinnacle is also another heroic which doesn't really need moving. First boss you just clump up in the boss, heal through when he brings the clouds. Second boss you clump your team on a corner where you cannot get knocked back. The only thing you have to move is your tank to dodge the hurricanes, and healing heavy when you got the wind debuff on your team. Otherwise its quite straight forward fight. Last boss is the only boss which requires your team to move when he does that aoe lightning thing. If you have a priest there is no problem the root that he does. You can mass dispell it.
Other dungeons I don't know I only do those two and normal dungeons for rep grinding. Good luck.

Awesome - thank you! I know I have to do a lot more to become a better multiboxer.. like I right now I don't even have a team strafe key. I also don't have stuff like mana tide totem, innervate, or rebirth on keys. I've just been trying to get my guys leveled up right now, figure out the best dps rotations and how to gem/enchant/reforge.
The rep grinding will help a lot too as there is decent gear on rep vendors. I look forward to trying these out.
Thanks again!

This is a variable answer. What is working for the standard trinity and tank+shams teams now does not work the same for all melee folks.

This section isn't really for questions like this. It is for strategies :(
SFK is pretty easy...

Some additional comments on SFK:
1. Boss 1: The sequence is mostly: around 50%, after magic damage on single target (dispel or interrupt) he will do the self-heal ability almost every time (some exceptions). You must interrupt this every time to win.
2. Boss 2: I keep the team next to the tank and just pick up the adds and kill them. Very simple.
3. Boss 3 (Silverlane): Pull him to the courtyard. You just get the first 2 adds and that's it. The only caveat is that you need to clear the courtyard (except the horses).
4. Boss 4: Jumping on green works fine. Otherwise you don't really need to move out of the frost as you can heal through it, but don't clump everyone in one spot if you can help it.
5. Boss 5: I put the team at the bottom of the stairs to make picking up the zombies easier. Also, for me I was barely able to heal through a single curse, so if you can't decurse, you must absolutely interrupt every gunfire curse to win. It's nearly impossible at this gear level to heal through 2 curses, and you can get 2 at once if you don't interrupt.

I think Vortex Pinnacle was the easist i have done so far. The middle boss was a pain in the ass but like the first boss, the last was simple. I wiped a ton in SFK with one interrupt and no aoe for the ghouls on the last boss. Tomorrow I hope it goes better in SFK. If you have a priest in VP the last boss is super easy with mass dispel glyph.
I've only completed Vortex Pinnacle so far, but it was easy. Tried H tol'vir and the first boss is very mean with his placement of land mines, even if you spread out it doesn't help much.

Just to add he does it at 33% aswell unless he does the strangulate before but pretty sure he will try to use it as soon as you interrupt his heal. Also he uses not once but every time his life reaches 50% and 33%, which means if he aoe heals and his life goes above 50%, he will try to mend again when it reaches at 50% health.
For boss 4 you are right, appart from all the aoe he does, he has got a nasty poison damage which seems to be a small aoe which affects anyone around the potion's blast radius. He moves from place to place but very slow. You have enough time to position around his room to avoid getting more than one person to take the poison damage.
For Boss 5, you can let the debuff wear off when he is summoning the ghouls or doing the barrage. Just get away from him a bit till the debuff wears off.
I would say appart form boss 3, SFK is doable on any group configuration. VP I agree, the 2nd boss could be a pain in the @ss on all melee group, but since I have no exp on such group config I can't tell.

Can anyone confirm if SFK and VP are still the easiest heroics? I'm wondering if any hotfixes or patches have made these harder, or others easier.

I would not suggest hugging the first boss in VP anymore. His storm damage is no longer trivial.

Yes, they are. I can confirm that. I had them on farm now for awhile, and really not much changed with content patch that made them impossible to complete.
Not to hijack this thread or anything, but I am now 4/9 in terms of heroics (VP, SFK, BRC. AND HOO) and with the new changes to the random heroics I really want to increase the number under my belt so that I am able to start getting those valors with my team.
So the question is: What next? Any of the other 5 (deadmines, grim batol, throne of tides, lost city, and stonecore) 5-manable and any farmable? My team ilevel is 350

Im getting ready for normal dungeon spamming, once some issues are sorted, really looking forward to taking on dungeon soloing with my team.

I think if you just want to farm for the valor points Thone of Tides is pretty good too, you only need to do first and last boss to complete the daily there.

I've been able to get everything but Grim Batol (sigh!) and Stonecore on farm by about iLvl 346 - once you start pushing towards 350 things are a bit more forgiving.
From your list I'd suggest progressing through your remaining heroics in this order:
Lost City - first guy is all about dragging him around the room and keeping alts out of mines, I find its actually easier (and a lot slower) to do this with 3 toons rather than all 5. The remaining bosses are just varying levels of gear checks it seems.
Throne of Tides - Again, first boss is the one you'll likely spend the most time learning. Key for me was to get the adds sheeped ASAP in P2 transition and again, keep moving around the room due to water spouts.
Deadmines - I love this instance, but it took a good 2+ hours to get the reaper encounter figured out
stonecore
Grim Batol
Fuck Deadmines in the ass. Seriously could there be a more melee unfriendly fight than the second boss?

Thanks for the feedback!
The first boss in Lost City is driving me nuts. I have been sifting through these forums and the consensus is it is a matter of luck with no real strat to bring him down, and I can say I have not been lucky
The problem with some of these encounters is that we need to micromanage movement on the alts, which is really difficult. Does anyone have feedback on how to do this? I tried swapping screens, macroing movement with toggles, but they have proven not reliable.
Another pain is some of the fights require to actually do 2-3 things at the same time. The last boss in GB is the perfect example. In normal you have one add to worry about but on heroics you have two and the boss that keeps doing his own mechanics while you need to neutralize the adds. One thing I tried on normal was tank the boss with the healer focused on healing the tank and send my mage on to dps down the add assisted by the remaining 2 toons. Sometimes, it works and when it does it is beautiful but sometimes it doesn't....

I have just geared up enough to run heroics, my healer is the worst off and had to carry some pvp gear in my bags to be able to queue.
I have tried a couple heroics but so far can only complete Lost City, I can do every boss in there.
I park all my toons except for the tank to the left of the door to the next area, then when the boss throws them they get stuck up high on the pillar, just turn them to face the boss and keep attacking, no longer worrying about the mines.
