View Full Version : Gearing up
Does anyone else have a minor case of OCD when it comes to gearing up their army? I refuse to upgrade one of my toons gear unless I have enough for everyone so as to ensure the 'uniform' look of all my toons. Any suggestions, anecdotes, etc?

That's why I like quest, crafted, and instance boss drops. Repeatable loot. :)
*nod* Makes sense. I can't wait to get to level 10 so I can boost my toons through VC and start getting boss drops. Although I probably won't be equipping the gear until the last of the toons gets the drop :P
OCD is nice, but at some point you're going to want to take whatever will benefit the TEAM more, not just the eye-candy. :)I wish I could but I'd sooner delete the toons than let them come to that point. I guess I should have mentioned; I do have a severe case of OCD so I can't quite help it. I've deleted toons on my account because the slots didn't line up(ie., bank alt on 1 account so that toon was a spot further down than the other accounts...)

I don't mind in gearing up my main first. He is their leader so its cool if he looks different then the other 3. But I will not put the gear on the other 3 without them all having it.

Is this a pure "similar attire" thing, or are you trying to balance the group, stat wise? I bring it up because if its the later, rarely will a "normal" group have identical toons (even if they have the same classes), and they can perform exceptionally well.Purely for similar attire...my OCD makes gearing up 4 toons at once rather challenging...

For my 3 mages, they don't have to wear the same attire.
Anytime there's new gear, I see who can benefit. Then I see who can benefit the most while trying to keep the general important stats within each other.

My girls are a bunch of lootwhores. Aebra doesn't use KTM and only cares about +dmg gear. Aedra wants to hit 375 enchanting, so she DEs anything that's left on the boss for more than about 5 seconds. Aeera is emo and will take stuff that she doesn't really need and then vendor it, and Aecra just ninjas things to piss the others off. Aeara has a major case of main-tank-entitlement-syndrome and takes pretty much anything she can equip.
So I try to keep them uniform, but it's tough with the clashing personalities.

Item Rack (addon) + Tuxedo suit (tailoring) : Activate Event (About Town) = Uniform Dress Code! :D
Don't forget to make your toons /roll against each other to see who get it. :PThat frickin' brilliant and hilarious! <3

Why can't we all get along?!!

Leveing up my quad-shaman all I used (except for the 100+ SM Cath runs) was quest gear, so they were all uniform all the time. Did this all the way to 70. Now that I'm farming instances and high-level crafting gear, I'm letting them get a bit diverse in gear. I just give the drop to whoever can use it most, in regards to overall stats.

Pretty much the same here. Pre-outlands you change your gear pretty often anyway since it becomes obselete so fast, so you can go with quest qear and instance drops (if you can be bothered running them multiple times for the drops). Once you hit Outlands though, particularly as you get closer to 70, you won't be changing gear as often, plus you'll be trying to get as much +damage/+healing/+AP/etc to be competitive, so looking the same takes less priority.

I agree with the obsession to make things look neat and symetric. In that respect I can only recommend the [Simple Black Dress] FTW!
It is not like you are going to miss the stats of the chest piece that much in the low levels, certainly not while multiboxing.
I have mine enchnated with +100hp and they do not bind, so can be recycled for other lowbies =]
