Anyone tried arena with 4 shammies 1 healer?

Curious how it is at 85 as i kinda cant play untill next year due to housebuilding/woman/baby stuff =/

With cata, what's for arena really ?


we are either 2200+ or not 2200+. everything between 1500-2200 is the same. Any combos, if you can win some, you get points. you get armors. you get weapons.

So ,, 5 druids, 5 mages, warlock team, 4 warriors, all priests. anything.

will work.

I run bg's with 5 shamans and the tol barad. works great in tol barad when sit in back of the zerg and rape face. I'm not toally geared yet, bout 50/50 blues/greens. I can outdps heals, but it definitely takes more than one lava burst to kill folks. Couple more pieces of gear should tell more.

I'm hoping to hear more about peeps rated bg heists honestly. That's what I'm interested in

i been takeing down a lot of 85's with my shammy group at level 83 am sure they will rock at level 85 as long as i can sort out CC in some way.

What is it that hits shammies so hard at 80? i dont understand... is it the gear others get or what? scaling?

It seemed the game scaled pretty good with the first 4 levels then 85 comes and you need allot of gear to see and bonus of being 85.when you first turn 85 any 80 will be able to kill you lol.

He's saying, if I understand correction, the rating scale at 84 is vastly different than 85...

(numbers made up for simplicity)
i.e. 100 haste at 84 = 3% haste
100 haste at 85 = 1% haste

The jump once you hit 85 was severe compared to the other levels. By dinging 85, you gain spellpower but your haste/crit/resilience/mastery will plummet.

Conversely...

At 84th, you might be mostly wearing a combination of level 80 raid/pvp gear and/or whatever quest rewards were improvements over your level 80 gear.

At level 85, as a fresh toon, the rating conversion sucks initially and you might even be worse in the same gear than you were at 84th.
But you should acquire level 85 gear, which will eventually make you far better than you ever were at 84th.
The trick is just getting there.

why did they not make it a gradual shift from 80 to 85 for the scaling? or maybe they did and there's still a huge disparity on the last level. I didn't notice.

BGs are kind of wack still too. Even playing 1 toon. Health pools got too big too fast. Dmg remained about the same. Healing is great and all, but CC is really the game winner now.

The post you replied to might be slightly exaggerated about level 80's killing you but what he is talking about is how things like crit and mastery scale dependent on level.

So at level 84 you might get 1% crit from 100 crit rating, but at level 85 it is .25% crit. This means that you need to significantly gear up at level 85 to get back to the levels of crit/mastery/haste/etc that you had before you hit level 85.

Ah yeh thats troo... arena shammies are kinda gear dependant so i guess it will be better once gear starts kicking in. but time will show i guess.

Killing me that i dont even have cataclysm yet, so i wont be playing untill late in january =(
