I'm starting a new alliance team. In the past, level 1 dwarves & night elves could do the quests in the human starting area. tonight I brought my new toons to the human area and they couldn't get any quests.
Did they change the way that the starting areas work? Is there a minimum level and/or rep requirement now?
I'm totally confused.

Hmm that's strange.

Maybe they changed it to the way the Belf and maybe Draenei areas are, where other races can only start into the chains at the lvl 5 part.
Especially since there is probably phasing there now.

An update on this.
The first handful of quests in each starting area are phased. Even with 3 humans in the human starting area, none of them were sharing quests (looking in quest logs for how many were on what quest). They were all individual quests to each other, but they could all be done at the same time.
The last quest in the human area (kill orc leader) was the first that was viewable in the quest log across all toons (all shown as on the same quest).
I ended up leveling everyone to 5 in their home area and meeting up at goldshire.

Wasn't that always the way to go? Level to level 5-6 and then you could move to any starter area?

No...it's much faster/easier to get them all to the same area, group up, and just kill things for 5 levels while getting the 3x RAF bonus.
It takes very little grinding to get those 5 levels, and it gives you a chance to setup and use a few simple macros, like following and assisting...depending on what your set up is.
Plus, it's just fun to blow things up as a group :).

Very true, but i recall that it never was possible to just summon all the level 1 characters to a specific area and start there. That's what i ment.

You could bring vanilla races to other vanilla starting areas and they could do all the quests. You couldn't take vanilla races to BC starting areas, but could do the reverse.
Now you can't take anyone anywhere.
