What XP an hour are you guys capable of doing? I have tried asking in /2 but no one is very helpful.
Plus I want to know as a Multiboxer what to expect.
At questing in Vashjir my lowest is 200k (over a five hour period) and the highest is 250k (over a two hour period).
At mob grinding in Vashjir my highest is 680k (over a twenty minute period) - I'm about to farm this place for a few levels now anyway.
And instances.. I have no idea. To low ilevel to enter.

Sorry for being offtopic but this statement surprised me a bit.. You mean normal instances have an ilevel requirement ? Yesterday I did right enough quests in Vash'jir to reach level 81 and only got a handful of green cata gear, half of them not well suited for my class/spec. So I wonder how long people will have to wait before they can enter Cata instances when they'll only be wearing green gear and a few blues from Northrend. I guess they'll have to wait until they're 82/83 before they can enter level 80/81 dungeons.

Daeri: Yeah I am a little annoyed tbh.
I am an instance grinder, I dislike quests. I'm now 8 hours of grinding, at 99.96% of level 80, and I won't be able to join an instance on my team, even when I hit 81 cause I am still below the 226 ilvl requirement. I've been doing all Vashjir quests.

There is no ilevel to enter, only queue. If you go to the physical location of the instance you can instantly enter.
I had about 600k rested xp before I finally started trying to level. I spent an hour the previous night farming herbs/ore (and sold what I farmed - less than 6 stacks total - for 3k) and earned 400k XP for that hour. This morning I played for ~ 2 hours and hit 81, which means in 3 hours I got 1.68 million xp or about 560k/hour.
That was solo-boxing - I'm sure it would be cut by 50% with my full team, but I am not crazy enough to try and level in this crush with 5 characters at once.

True, also you can enter higher level instances, like the level 83 instances if you are level 81 if you have the item requirment through dungeon que. So getting all tier 10 actually paid off for something in the end it seems

I spent a stupid amount of time with the 2nd boss of Blackrock when I should have just leveled elsewhere, and I spent a lot of time PvPing around the quest turn ins ( I never knew how many alliance my server actually had!!!)
But as far as time spent leveling and not failing on the 2nd boss of Blackrock, it toook about 6 hours on my 5 man team to get to 81. This was questing in Mount Hyjal.
If you quest it will still take longer than a solo toon since you get 1/5th the exp from mob kills, but we all know that already. I would guess when I run my second team that I should be able to get to 81 in 3-4 hours now that I know where to go and what to do.

My ferals were average iLV199, at the start of Cataclysm.
I've not finished Hyjal yet, but have recently reached 81st.
Going at a much more casual pace this expansion... actually played sub-80's more than 80+'s so far.
Anyway, my ferals have increased to iLV248 so far.
So 226 to queue shouldn't be that hard to get.
*Edit*
The level was approximately 5 hours, of casual play.
Following a quest stacking guide, but frequently having 10 players in a small area going for the same thing.

80 to Maxlevel aside ...
Playing causally and a bit of "which way do I go?" I would expect 5% per hour, or whatever is between a win/loose in a battleground game that feels like an actual fight. At that rate the xp is working as intended and a good base line. If you falling below that, your sort of "doing it wrong" in terms of power leveling.
I would expect someone power leveling where they are something like ~65% idle per hour at 18-22% xp per hour ('vanilla gold farmer style, murder until your gear is broke or the mobs don't give the right xp anymore)
When leveling I do 5 guys ten levels, then another 5 guys 10 levels, and switch back and forth and mix up the comp every ten levels without RaF/BoA I am at 8-12% dorking around and hitting mid-20% when I am at the sweet spot of a level range for spells and looting isn't a concern. The instancetimer numbers get faster and faster / higher and higher and fighting to get the idle timer down is really my goal.
With BoA hitting 45% in the high 60s and early 70s is pretty easy with patches / enchants. I tossed blue spell power gems into everything that had a slot and hit pretty hard. ZA/SW has some nice items that can be twinked out, wands with stats, gem slots, etc that are hard to replace.

exp/hour lvl80-82 been something like 250k-300k so far... did find good quest called Without a Captain or Crew in deepholm that has nice way to boost exp/hour to 800-1m / hour :P just go to main deck with full 5man team and loot robe so that 4 mobs spawn then start aoe with slaves. With main you can loot rope and destroy it as many times as you want and every time 4 mobs will spawn than gives exp :P

I went with my lower 80 team (pal-4xshammy) with about a 3500 gearscore average to Hyjal and just quested for four hours with tons of waiting, and I mean tons.
With no BOA gear on I got about 70% into 80 before giving it a rest and starting my all Worgen mixed team which I got to level ten in about an hour of questing.
In beta it was much faster leveling a single toon but I'd rather my toons stay the same level.
Lots of green quest rewards were huge upgrades for my lowbie level 80 team. I have yet to take my 5500 average gearscore mixed team to the expansion.
I was getting about 700k / hr unrested XP gains in BRC. I love that instance. You can really rip through it.
Only challenge is the second boss. But, if you have the DPS for it, she just falls over. After that, it's a piece of cake.
Stonecore is a whole other story. I gave up on it after the second boss when I saw the trash to the third. I'll get it figured out here eventually. The first boss is pretty easy, it looks like a mess at first, but there's a neat little area just to the right of the worm as you're looking at it where you can park your team and they won't get hit by the underground ability.
I hit 83 finishing the quests in Deepholme, and ripped to Uldum. Hit about 600k / hr just questing out there, and should have 84 here in an hour or so, and then it's off to Twilight Highlands.
Now - the major pain in the ass in Uldum is the gathering quests in the underground temple area. They're a nightmare. Absolute nightmare. I'm not sure if you can avoid them though, since they are the gate to the rest of the Harrison Jones questline.
