This is ONLY for mob kills, does not impact quest XP so really this prevents mob camping for easy XP

What this does is stop us all from farming WotLK heroics tomorrow to get extra experience.

This. Though based on incomplete data, I still disagree with the change. I mean, anything that alleviates the crowding in the new zones should be a good thing, right? I _liked_ being able to run strat/scholo for XP at 61-65 and build ARgent rep at the same time. Why is that so evil?

/doesn't understand their motivation.

This totally ruins my plans :/ This is worse than butt sects ;( Why on earth would I want to go anywhere near the new stuff for at least a week? I planned to wait for the bugs to be found and fixed and for guides to surface.

I think it is TOTALLY aimed at people grinding WotLK heroics, a side effect would be to keep everyone else in the appropriate level zone.
Think how fast people here on this forum run heroics, some saying they can clear in 10 minutes, multiply that in XP and you start to level above the curve.

will heirlooms work? I know I seen the world's first guy had them on, but thought blizz said they would only work originally to lvl 80?

The WotLK heirlooms only scale to 80th.
And don't provide exp bonuses beyond 80th.

The Cataclysm heirlooms will go from 1st to 85th.
And the guild perks apply to all levels too.

Which can add up to +65% 1st to 80th.
And +45% 80th to 85th.

So that is 110% right? Coool ;)

Killing mobs that are gray to anyone in the group was a waste of time anyways....

I know everyone is focused on leveling from 80-85, but the implications of this are bad, imo. Most likely this is the death of boosting via instances.

No...

65% for the levels where everything works.
But 20% of that 65%, will not work at 80th or beyond.

I assumed that it was to keep level 80s from farming exp mobs in Northrend, and the nerf to dungeon exp was an unfortunate side effect. If they wanted to stop people from farming heroics for exp, then it doesn't make sense for them to allow daily quests to continue to give full exp. With the new zones crowded, farming WotLK dailies is a pretty easy way to gain exp and some extra gold. And with the nerfed xp from mobs, nearly all of your exp will go to guild leveling as well, and you will also be farming guild rep.

A point of the BoA Heirlooms, I just checked and they do not work at all at lvl 80. So Aetnia was not correct in saying they work till 81 :(
