Performance Issues 5 Multibox ISBoxer 1 PC

Hi all,

Have been on this forum for a long time but this one of my 1st posts, i have read a lot of the performance threads but have had no luck, I am after some tips on how I can improve my Multiboxing setup as I am struggling with lag / performance.

I am using ISboxer. World of Warcraft.

While playing my 5 accounts I am having issues with the followers not keeping up and lagging behind.

Windows shows I am using 2.8GB of the 4.0 GB ram so it doesn't look like a ram issue.

I get the same problem whether i am in an instance or when i am in the normal world in not very populated areas.

Have lowered the Frame rate on the slaves from 30 to as low as 10. The main window is at 50 FPS, have tried a second screen with the 4 slaves with the main on the primary and still have the same issue.

I am now level 26, this was not an issue at the start only from around level 15ish did it start, not sure how this is even remotely relevant, but thought id throw it in.

My setup is

Windows Ultimate 64-bit
Gigabyte P55-UD3P MB
i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67 Ghz (4 CPU's)
4096 MB Ram
128GB SSD Drive.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 1GB
DirextX 11 - not sure if this is relevant.

all follow will break, use Jamba and it's Strobe-follow feature to stop most of it.

Not sure about RAM, 5 boxing needs 1 gig each, in most cases. Lose some add-ons or background programs

The following breaks seem to be related to lag or performance. Rather then normal follow breaking but thanks for the tip ill install Jamba.

I only have 2 Addons running , I am going to give up on 5 and drop to 3 boxing tonight when I get home to see if it resolves the problem.

I'll also buy some more RAM and see how it goes.

Really didn't think 5 would be a problem with this setup.

Follow distance is mostly controlled by your ping. If your game windows aren't getting insanely low FPS, that's probably not the problem.

You can get a quick check of all of your FPS fairly easily. Open up the in-game Inner Space console with the ` key (or F12 if you don't have that key, or if you changed the setting in your Character Set it's probably a different combo). Paste the following command via CTRL+V or SHIFT+INSERT (these are typical hotkeys for paste):

relay all echo \${Session}: \${Display.FPS.Centi}
Each window will report its FPS back into the console for you. Unless they're well under 10 fps I wouldn't expect major problems.


Depending on where you go, you'll also run into phasing which is infamous for dropping auto-follow.

I was sitting around 800ms last night with spikes to 2000ms , doing Stockades and preemptive healing my tank as i couldn't see his health.. I ended up giving up.

I have a 50Mb internet cable connection which was working fine, I am in Switzerland connecting to EU UK servers on a single connection I am normally on 300ms.

Can running multiple wow instances increase my ping ?

FPS on all screens seemed to stay to my settings of 15 on non active windows and 50-60 on main one.

Maybe the issue is not related to hardware then.

Im curious how does your machine perform ping/fps wise with only 1 instance of wow running?

FPS on highest setting sits at a solid 60 FPS for 1 wow.

when 5 boxing settings are are on lowest possible on all 5 clients.

Ping ill have to check when I get home tonight.

I am sitting at 700 too 1100 MS ping doing nothing in the barrens.

I did a ping to www.wow-europe.com and I am getting every 10th packet drop or more..

This is going to be fun to try and sort out, My ISP is Cablecom in switzerland I hear their a pain to deal with, and I dont speak French or German..

Well that's great but, Blizzard game servers aren't connected to their web page. I would link you the EU version of this guide
but the site seems to be down for maintenance. Here is the US version (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=20628&pageNumber=1&searchQuery=trace+route) on how to run a trace route, I'm guessing you just
change US to EU and all should be well. You may have to actually wait until the EU site comes back up to get a real answer.

Also, ping/tracert your actual server IP listed here (http://www.wowpedia.org/EU_realm_list_by_datacenter), if it isn't listed there try here (http://www.wowwiki.com/EU_English_realms_info). I'm not sure whether those IPs are still
good since I know the US realm list was updated with new data centers, no idea if EU moved data centers around.
