elemental shaman low dps in cata (pve)?

I've seen quite a few raid logs lately from a few top guilds where elemental shaman dps is barely above the tanks, and def. way lower than other caster specs. Looks like more and more people start to realize this and getting a bit worried, seen several post and blogs sharing the same feeling.

Basically the fact that we have no longer the 4 pieces T10 bonus, and thus have to be very careful with our shock cooldown. And the fact that such a big portion of our dps depends on the fire elemental. And the fact that searing totem is still broken / plain dumb. The cast while walk ability is only 15 seconds out of 2 minutes, and at first sight many of the raids are moving intensive.

So my question: anyone who has played the beta at 85 can confirm/deny this?

Damage is decent, dps is low in comparison to other caster classes (its not like 80)

PVP wise our lavaburst actually crits for 15k on epic pvp geared players.

decent = competitive, i.e. as a raid leader you don't mind having an elemental shaman in your team
but from what I hear/read left and right it's just plain 'dramatic'; hence my question. however at 80 (pre patch) elemental wasn't exactly the highest dps class either, but we had unique raid buffs that would make up for that ...

for pvp i know what shaman can do, but this concern is actually pve only

The numbers are things that blizz can easily change, and I'm sure there will be several balancing patches even before the first patch for additional raid content in cata. I wouldn't sweat it. Blizz lately has been all about "play the class you enjoy" and not to focus on max DPS.

No raiding, but the damage was broken compared to my destruction warlock. Both in similar quest gear.
