Hey there,
Brand new to multiboxing... already have a toon of every class, and want to do something to spice up the game play a bit more, to do the new low level areas in Cataclysm.
I'm interested in just running 2 clients (I know my comp can handle that fine already - I have been doing it but having to alt tab x.x)
I did read through the multiboxing FAQ, however I still have a couple questions...
Because it seemed in the grey zone in the FAQ - is AHK okay to use for WoW? I only want something simple (and free), I am not looking for things like ISBoxer. I just want to press 1, and have both my toons use their attack, or whatever else is on that key, and this is just for solo leveling, not PVP or dungeon groups.
And I definitely do not want to be banned.
So is AHK the thing for me? Or do you guys out there have any other suggestions? Like I said earlier, I'm just looking for something extremely simple.

Sounds like HotKeyNet is the best thing for you, and down the track if you find you enjoy it and want more, then you can start playing with the fancier tools.
I wouldn't worry about the legitimacy of the tools mentioned on this site, everything we used has been proven time and time again to be legal and good, so check out the FAQ/guide (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=16177) on HotKeyNet and start kicking ass :)

AutoHotkey =! HotkeyNet, 2 diffierent programs.
As for the legitimacy of AHK, I've heard different things but I've never heard of anyone on this site that has been banned for
using it. I actually haven't seen anyone post about AHK in a long time, so I couldn't even tell you if there are people here
that still use it and could answer your questions if you had any. Main, talked about, software solutions you will see on this site
are ISBoxer, HotkeyNet, and Keyclone.

Auto Hot Key itself is just a tool.
So it depends on how you use it.
However, I've seen a lot of posts regarding botting with it.
Not necessarily on this site, but just googling the program in general.
If you want a free option, check out Hot Key Net or Octopus.
I believe both are quite decent options, but haven't used either.
HKN seems quite powerful.
And there is fairly decent support levels for it here.

It's not usually the program that will get you banned, it's the way the program is used. If you avoid anything with automation {waits, loops, repeats} you shouldn't have any issues.

Cool, I thought so, that's why I just put in Hotkeynet as that seems to be the favorite for people looking for something free.

Awesome, thanks.
Thanks to the others as well... was a little confused about the difference between AHK and HKN.
I noticed the main ones listed, being spoken about quite a bit, but Keyclone and ISB are paid things... I already downloaded HKN but wasn't sure if I should get into it yet or if I should look at another.
Thanks for the advice everyone =)

AHK and HKN use different scripting.

Exactly.
I have been using AHK since TBC. No problem so far. Rewrote the scripts for 6 boxing now, and doing fine.
AHK is a open source, generic scripting software, and it provides windows API/COM calling. Is good if you want to use the functions of Explorer, google search, Microsoft Office, etc directly from your scripts. Very handy. However, it provides no built-in function for PC communications, so have to rely on winsocks API to comm. This implies more coding works, tho you need no such function now. I stick to AHK solely becos I enjoy coding my own program.
I believe HKN is designed for game boxing, so will be a good choice for you. Also, Khat is always around to explain the scripts usage.
