View Full Version : Auction house and gold add-ons

I am not familiar with LUA or add-on scripting. Not very familiar with various auction house add-ons either. I've used a few only with limited usage on checking / caching prices etc.
What I wanted to do is to streamline the process of making gold/selling items. Automate as much as possible. Legally of course. Here are the steps.
1. Checking AH, cache price for all items. (I know add-on can do this)
2. Scan my own professions and my bags for mats. One step further, auto disenchant stuff in my bag (no add-on that I know can do this)
3. With cached price, my own professions and mats, determine which crafting item I should make to gain most profit.
4. auto post auctions (crafted items, left over mats), scan my bag and auto post instead of me dragging and finding stuff in my bag.
The biggest problem was really "scanning the bags and doing something with the result." Was this allowed ?
and step 4, auto posting, is there an add-on that would allow me to post without drag and pick items from my bag? Say I want to post all my glyphs and left over herbs. Is there a way to do it ? instead of going through my bag and finding the items I want to post.
Basically, asking those who are more experienced with AH. how do you do it? Instead of manually click on every single "types" of items you want sell

There are several topics about AH business things like addons allready. Auto Disenchant is not possible.
Posting etc is all down to what you like and what works for you.

I'm looking forward to that addon.
Must have is Postal. Nobody will disagree on that.
i use auctionprofitmaster for posting. You set up groups, add items to the group. Set a minimum and maximum price and APM wil undercut the lowest priced item by a set amount. It does not make a difference between stacks or singles. So if there's a stack for 10g ea, but the lowest single price is 15g it will post it for 10g minus set undercut. It will also scan if your auctions got undercut and you can cancel those.
Posting/canceling all does require a single click per auction.
For crafting i tried KTQ or KTM, dunno what it is exactly. for a bit, but didn't work for me. I just do it manually, mainly glyphs though.

There was a Panda Disenchant, I used for a while when doing an Arbitrage business.
It would auto disenchant (default Greens only) by clicking the mouse anywhere within a large window.
But there was one click per DE, and it took the normal amount of time.
Ultimately, it wasn't that good of a gold maker.
And took a lot of time to boot.
I'm using Auction Pro Master.
Have several categories set up.
Set a maximum price, minimum price, undercut amount, stack size, maximum number of stacks, bid percentage of buyout, post duration, etc.., for each category.
Then add items to categories. A given item cannot appear in two categories.
Periodically click Cancel, which scans the AH to see if you were undercut.
It cancels auctions where you're not the lowest price.
You get a cancel box, which you have to spam click once per canceled auction.
Then retrieve mail, and click Post.
Which scans and then lists the items.
Then go to the Summary Tab, click on the resource category.
In my case, I've tried Glyphs and Gems.
It will show how many of each type you have listed, how many are in inventory and how many you will list at once (maximum).
Craft whatever you're missing (ie, what has sold).
And then hit post.

Can't check ingame now (as it's maintenance atm), but as far as I know apm has a crafting queue. The way I do it for my glyphs goes like this:
my glyphs are up on AH or in inv, I click AH -> go auctions
click summary, click glyphs, click get data
a screen will pop up with all glyphs per class, easy to collapse or expand the lists
per glyph you can have a red cross (means you can't make those yet), and then an indication if you have them up for the lowest price in the AH or not, and if you have any in your bags, they are listed by the AH market price, so very easy to see which ones you wanna craft and which ones you don't wanna craft
if you want to add a certain glyph to be crafted just tick it until you get the right amount
open you inscription profession window, click 'apm' in top right corner
a crafting queue with all the glyphs you have just ticked should appear, and at the bottom you can see the mats needed (the ones you are missing are in red)
talk to a vendor and clck buy mats, and he'll buy all the patches you need
click a glyph and it should autocraft the right amount
go AH and proceed to list them
i don't see the benefit of crafting them manually, nor do i see the need for another addon, except if that addon was to offer functionality to cross check what glyphs you have in stock with other toons and or accounts
