So I think I saw somebody mention this, but dont recall if there was a fix / work around or if we're just SOL (or if its just me having a problem).

Saving the view on my people doesnt seem to be working since 4.0, anybody else experience this?

This is what happens to everyone who has played on Kil'Jaeden and then left. It happened to me as well, but now that
I'll eventually be returning for Cata I can now save my camera views when I'm on Frostmane.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Stormreaver?! Dammit beardman, that server would be perfect for me,
I get a whopping 9ms ping there. However, there is just too much happening on Kil'Jaeden for me to leave, I just want to
camp Svpernova for days and then make a time lapse video of it on YouTube. Oh, and, my previous answer still stands.

Damn it. I saw this thread and got excited as I've recently ran into this (post 4.0) and was hoping to remember how to make them save. There is a way to do it via some wierd /console command, but I can't remember it.

How I do it today is via the config.wtf. I run my 5 copies with symbolic links to the data and addon folders, so I have a seperate config.WTF for each account. I've made copies of each config.wtf, then added the camera settings, then before I launch my broadcasting software (keyclone), I run a batch file to recopy the config settings.

It's a bit annoying as if you change any video/audio settings, you'll lose the changes by copying over the config file, but it definitely addresses the saved camera issues.

Yeah, it's obnoxious - I'm having to resave my camera angles every time I restart so I can throw 'splodey things at people properly. Well, maybe this and the $!@&!& mini-map zoom constantly resetting will get fixed.. sometime...

Most boxing software will let you specify config.wtf string/value pairs to "hack" into the config as the game loads. Does yours? You might look into that as a more permanent option. Easier than managing batch files anywho. :p

I'm still using keyclone. I want to make the switch to ISBoxer, I just don't want to go through the headache of relearning everything just yet. I know in the long run it's a lot better, and even have to hear about my coworker brag about it, but the last time I did a trial on it, it took me too long to configure teams/keybindings/etc.

I may try and make it work right before cat goes live this weekend, but who knows. :D

Before 4.0.3, I had all my views working perfectly fine and didn't have to monkey with the config files. I vaguely remember having the same headache previously, then using some console command to get it to finally save the settings, which to me is the best solution.

As a possible option, if you got the config.wtf file set up the way you wanted it and then write-protected it, that might prevent untoward changes. Not sure if the WoW client would barf about that, though.

I believe it used to be: /Script SaveView(x)
But if it is not remembering them... not sure.

There was a thread a while back.
And Sam had the post, where in addition to angle, he had distance etc.
As something he had edited into the config file.

Not sure that it would remember that even.
If it is not remembering the regular save.
But you can set most of that with a macro.
I suppose you could make an IS Boxer macro for that.
And have the other Slots assume whatever view.

There was a post for AoE's, with specific camera angle stuff on IS Boxer too.
I believe by JackBurton.

Neither thread was that recent, but might be able to find them.

*Edit*
Cannot find the thread I was thinking about... but here are some variables you can change for the camera.
The second post implies we cannot adjust the CameraPitch anymore.

Also the IS Boxer thread I was thinking of:

Apparently the camera settings in the config.wtf file aren't loading right now. It's a bug.

/script SaveView(x);SaveView(x);

Is the typical command / macro that you would use to set and save your camera settings to slot "x", or you could assign the key inside of the Interface / Keybindings menu in-game. "x" can be 1 through 5.

FYI, I did just try adding these settings (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showpost.php?p=7796&postcount=8) to the config.wtf again. It still works, though it clears them out when you exit the game. At least it's easy enough to import the settings again from a text file once you get the values figured out.
