Hey all This is my first post and hopefully not my last.I finally got myself a upgraded setup with two monitors, nice graphics card, and 4gigs of memory.I have two accounts on wow both 10 and 25 icc geared(stopped playing in july due to cpu issues)
one fury/prot war and one holy/ret pal both human and both on the same server.
Ive always been interested in dual/multi-boxing and have been a visitor to this site and others for some time now.Now that im finally prepared to do this ,i was hoping i could get some tips on which software, and macros would best suit my setup.
I have two monitors so i want to view each toon in its own window , i have nostromo n52te and a zboard wotlk keyboard along with a regular mouse ,,, nothing too over the top..
I would appreciate any help i can get on making this setup a reality for me, in the future im hoping to add my dk into the mix but 2boxing is a fine start for me for now.Ive never boxed before and have no experience but i do know how to play both classes and specs very well .. im planning on using my pally as my main and my war as the secondary...any help on software and macro's would be very appreciated . Thank you so much for your time and cant wait for your responses, Liz aka Gemma:p

2 boxing mele is quite hard i hear and is recommended to start with casters. umm i believe you put on click to move and interact with target, though i tend to have issues with it (mele run past the mob and keep going) but its a start.
all the information is around, just look through the forum

Gave some advice on your thread from the other boxing site.
Pretty much same stuff would apply here.

PB is not discussed here at all, nor Tim's site.
On the other hand, all software aside from that is discussed openly here, and links will work etc.

When you get a chance, look in the key bindings menu (just the regular menu that pops up with you hit ESC). If you scroll down to the targetting functions, you'll find there's something called "Interact with target" there. I use my ` key for this. Of course if you're using a Nostromo and/or a zboard, you have more key options than I can imagine!
Then go into the regular options menu , interface->Mouse, and over on the right, there's a box called "Click to move". Enable this.
Now whenever you target an enemy and hit your interact with target key, your melee (or meleers) will turn toward the enemy and run to them. SO if you're hitting it with your other attacks (like judgement and mortal strike and whatnot) your melee team will tear stuff up. That's how we multibox melee instead of casters the easy way.

I think a ret pally/fury warrior may be the toughest two man combo to multibox. Perhaps a rogue leading a fury warrior would be more difficult, but just to warn you you'll have some challenges in front of you. Many of us experienced multiboxers could make the combo work, but you're going to have a steep learning curve with that composition.

Just have fun with it :)

Yea man, just remember always do what you want (that's why you're multiboxing) and play whatever class combo you think would be fun. :D Good luck!

ISBoxer is my choice. It's simply amazing. You do not need any other program (Jamba is an add-on)

One of the nice things of IS Boxer, is the automatic FTL.

You can drag a spell (or a macro-castsequence) onto the "1" key for both characters.
And then push the "1" key.
Whichever character or characters are not in the main screen, auto assist you, and attack your target with whatever spell they have on the "1" key.

You can set up FTL with other programs, but its a little complicated especially when starting.
And you get it automatically with IS Boxer.

You can do dynamic formations.
Where the other characters move away from your active character.
And everyone has the default warcraft keybindings.
So when you switch to a different character, the new main is stationary while the others all still move.

You can have your DPS keys assigned to targets in a preconfigured group.
And have toggles which will add or remove toons from the group.
So, on trash your healer could be added to the group which receives the DPS key when you push "1".
But you can take them out of the DPS group, and while still spamming "1" this toon does not receive that key.
Granted, that's not the easiest thing to set up, but its not that hard with a bit of experience with IS Boxer.
And Lax gives phenomenal support; anything I've wanted to set up, he's pointed me in the right direction.

If you're comfortable with scripting, you can likely do almost anything with HKN that IS Boxer can do
But the pieces for isboxer are easier to learn.
And because Inner Space launches the warcraft windows, it can do a few things that no other boxing software can.

TLDR:
The basics are fairly easy, and far stronger without needing to know much about boxing than almost anything else.
And if you want to get advanced, basically nothing else is as powerful, ie as flexible in what you can achieve.
