So, I decided to bring my three shamans to booty bay. Little did I know what would happen. When I decided to go back on the boat to ratchet, all 3 of my level 15 shammies were instantly killed by chain lightning by an alliance. I was a bit annoyed but stuff like that happens normally. But as I try to go on the boat a few more times, the same thing keeps happening. This repeats for a very long time, and I counted that she died to the guards 9 times. Apparently alliance REALLY hate three trolls who look identical and have nearly the same name.

However, she manages to get 6 more allies to prevent my boat travel. Two of which are druids, surrounding the dock. Herself, a shaman on the dock. A 70 warlock in ratchet camping the ratchet dock (i found this out after I finally got one of the three on the boat - i realized that if you don't release spirit your body still travels to ratchet and you are revived). There was also two more people on the boat for the sole purpose of camping me. I couldn't count how many times they let themselves die to the guards, but I could never step foot of the other two guys on the boat so I could at least revive over in ratchet. There were so many corpses on the dock that my computer could barely handle it. I finally logged and waited it out.

So, this is my first encounter in contested territory, at level 15. And since this is my first time multiboxing, does world pvp usually happen like this? Does the opposite faction hate clones so much as to go to such ridiculous lengths just to camp the triplets?

Well...

The chance to kill a noobling warrants camping alone... and the fact that there is 3 of you would definitely exponentially increase their desire to camp you.

So yes. World PvP is all about annoying the other faction.

If they were camping you on the boat, preventing you from using the boat, that is considered griefing (preventing a player from actually playing the game) and is reportable.

Now, by the time a GM got to you, it may be a complete waste of time. Ganking / World PvP = ok. Preventing a player from playing = not ok.

Been to the gorge and some hordes tried to gank, but they where only 2 red bm hunters , so piece of cake :P

For some people, camping is just fun, so it was a chance for him and he used it.
Your failure: You give him this chance.

So next time:
- Log out after the second kill
- Play with another Twink
---
or
- Do not log out, go in the kitchen, make the dish, drink coffee, use your time and search in the internet for information for WoW. Search new addons. ;-) Itīs really boring for a camper to wait. ;-)

---
or
Log out, wait 1 Min. Sometimes these idiots are afraid, that you come back with a Level 70 Charackter ;-).

I LOVE STV!!

It's the funniest place in the game, and questing there with my shammies was an absolute blast. Plenty of horde to kill also. Sometimes some lvl70's could get annoying, but I usually was able to get away. Yesterday I got camped and followed for hours by 4-5 lvl 70 guys in Terrokar forest, so I had to log off for an hour (watch an episode of Top Gear) to get away. They we're insta popping me the second I ressed, so I was just going nowhere. If I even had a small chance, I would be at it forever. It's riddiculously funny. My shammy team is now level 63 and pretty much ungankable by a single player, but I do like it when people gang up on me. I really need the pvp practice =)

I wouldn't skip searing gorge or the badlands. I did all the quests I wanted to from both zones and only got killed by high levels twice. Not been to burning steppes yet.

Personally I have boxed teams of 2 and 3 before and level'd lots of solo characters but my experiences on my 5 teams have been horrible.

The server I am is very populated (most of the time there is a queue to login) and from 20 - 40 I have constantly been targeted by level 70's. Some times I've even ended up with 5 - 10 level 70's from the same guild who have just traveled to come kill / play with me.

Generally the trick I find is to make it appear like your not fussed, if you know you can't kill them and are going to be camped, either res and just walk away - see what happens ? or if they don't go after 10 minutes I generally spirit res and go into an instance for a run or two.

Unfortunately, this is not true.. or at least when I reported something similar to this. It was on a boat from Menth to Dark Shore. There were 2 lvl 70s Hordes (priest and rogue) ganking everyone that was trying to get on the boat or at the docks. If you were able to get on the boat, the priest would mind-control your butt off of the boat.

This went on for over an hour. Opened a ticket. GM's response was a generic one. "This is a PVP server, there are ways around it in PVP (basically either log off and get your 70 mains or get your friends on 70s to gank them back). And that this is "part of being on a PVP server". And a "thank you for contacting us, is there anything else we can help you with".

The best word of encouragement is that the higher level you get, the less ganking there will be. There will be an occasional at higher level, but it won't be like anything at the lower levels.

At level 57 questing at EPL, there was a level 59 that decided to gank, killed him. Then I realized why he tried to gank... it's because he had a 70 friend with him that followed a couple of seconds after he died that came around. Kill that 70 the first time around, decided to call it a night so mounted up and rode off, but that 70 druid found me and killed me for round 2. He healed up and stealthed, no doubt waiting for me to rez to round 3 (probably because he was upset that I killed him at level 57). I decided then that I was too tired so I started to get stuff ready to go to bed, 10 minutes later, I rezzed then hearthed.

There is a level 70 mage that has consistently killed my team while leveling from 30 to 50ish. The 70 mage has been helping his friend level up that happen to be at the same level as I am so we ran into each other about 5 or so times. But as I gain levels, I'm able to take his health further down... his AOEs just kills me though... but I'm getting close. :)

So you have a couple of choices.
1. Rez back immediately to get ganked again (do this if you enjoy the ganking... sometimes I do this to kill off all the lower levels before dying from the level 70s)... and sometimes if you keep doing this, they go away from being bored or whatever.
2. Wait to rez back after doing some stuff around the house... and you know there always something that needs to be done around the house (I usually do this if I'm not in the mood)
3. Spirit rez if it's far away enough and continue on (if I'm not in the mood and the spirit rez is better then #2)

And remember, at level 70, you can take your group and PWNWTF all of them back.

I also use the mod VanasKOS ('http://www.wowace.com/wiki/VanasKoS') to keep track of all the people that have ganked me... payback will be fun. :)

guild chat: omgwtf!!!111 you guys got to come see this, I'm questing in zanger and this dude comes up with these 4 haxed shadow priests and like one shots me and wtfbbqpwnd this epic'd out 70 war! Come help me kill this guy ! I'm reporting his ass!

everyone in the area scrambles over there...

I got to hand it to this guy, he gave a few of us a very hard time. Key here was, all alts were similarly named, he would step back into the group when attacked so you couldn't figure out which one to target to kill. Once we figured out which one was main, he was killed pretty quick and he didn't have much control over the other three so they went down pretty fast after that. He rezed a few times and we killed him again, then he just spirit rezed and I never heard or saw him again.

This was the first time any of us had seen or heard anything like this. I was fascinated by it and thought, how the heck did he do that and started searching, which is why I am here now working on getting my set up going :D So understand, pvp server is about pvp, having fun ganking and getting ganked. Much more fun then the first pve server I was on. Anyway, your a novelty, on a pvp server people will kill you just because they can, or want to see if they can, whatever. That's entertainment for them at your expense. Its just the way it goes. I'm looking forward to the challenge, I'm trying to figure out what a viable pvp/pve group set up will be since I know its going to happen A LOT :P But Its all fun to me.

Oh yeah, payback is a bitch lol.. I was on my 57 rogue grinding timbermaws, some 70 druid got me. I came back on my druid and killed him 8 times before he wispered me from another account and said, ok, that was fun, im logging out now you can get on your rogue lol.. i waited by my rogue in stealth and cought him stealthed prowling up to get me, and I killed him again, he wispered me back "lol.." thats just the fun of a pvp server :)

PS. hes right, don't waste time reporting people for killing you on a pvp server. they won't even care.

Anyone who's played on a PvP server will know there are two areas notorious for ganking - STV and Hillsbrad. Becuase the quests in these zones are pretty good I generally try and persist through the ganking - although having a group of 70's parked close by usually means revenge gankings are swift and brutal!

I think a lot of people love ganking boxers when they are low level becuase they know that once the get higher up, it will be the other way around. :)

Anyway, as horde on a PvP server you should be able to get up to around level 25 in non-contested areas...why were you going to BB at level 15??

Cheers,

Stealthy

Get VanasKoS, log who killed you, log out, go make some dinner and get back 15 mins later. If anyone actually bothers to camp for 15 minutes I just go watch some tv series or something ;p. Corpsecamping is only fun because people react to it ;) .
