Returning after a break & wanting to 5 box again.. this is my new pc...

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/packard-bell-ipower-i9723-06323861-pdt.html

I'm going to run x2 hp 22" monitors.. now my question is.. I have 2 unused graphics cards.. plan to run 4 wows on the one monitor and the main on the other.. can I use 2 different cards (non sli) and if so which of these two cards is the better choice for the 2nd monitor?

GTX 260 or 8800GT?

I have a feeling you will say all 3 cards are rubbish and I should get another card.. :P

Many thanks.

just my two cents ... but I would go with the 260 over the 8800 for your 2nd card.

The 260 is a couple of generations ahead of the 8800GT, and is a nice upgrade from it. Depending on which version you get (the chip fab size) you may have some heat and power issues - I remember the earlier 260's were not so good when it came to those issues, but the later versions of the 260 went to a smaller fab size that was more efficient and ran cooler.

Two generations ahead naming scheme wise, one generation ahead architecture wise.

But, 260 as primary 8800 secondary, split rendering between them as you wish.

You know the GT330 is WORSE than the 260, right?
