Hey

I currently have 3x 60 grantable levels on RAF, i intend to make my first melee team mainly for pvp at 85 in 3's.. or as a 3 anyway

So i am currently debating rolling rogues or warriors and wanted a bit of feedback.. Warriors seem quite easy to play and have alot of slows/charge/stun etc etc for pvp.. On the other hand 3 rogues running around invis would be amazing and annoying as hell!!!

Just wondering if anyone can give some feedback or views or advice.

There is ofcourse many other melee classes and im not ruling them out.. havent played feral but that might be viable.. enh is fun but might not be as good as warriors?? rets rotation just seems far too complicated to play 3 at once.. Didnt dk's loose alot of burst a while back and still are a little poo?? or is frost really good now?

Thanks

I'd think Rogues would be far better for world pvp or raiding cities.
Stealth would let you pick your battles.

If you're actively controlling the warrior, they're a strong class.
Not sure if you can box, and take advantage of all the procs which make them a strong class.

Feral is strong, with a lot of bleed damage which ignores armor.
And the same toon has the option to dps or tank with virtually the same spec.
You can dual-spec to healer, or even heal sort of as Feral > you get mana back by meleeing.

Frost DK and Enh Shammies have a lot of the same buffs it seems.
At least what they can do for other melee.
Enhance has heals, like Ferals do plus can self rez which can be nice.

I don't have experience with Rets, but they have Divine Storm.
And Word of Glory, which is healing options.

You can probably macro decent dps with any combo.
Three of the same will be easier to control.
But two plus one, might be better as far as buffs go.
I know the DK + 4x Rets were strong, maybe a DK + 2x Rets would be, or something similar.

I would not do warriors-- far too proc dependent.

Rogues are a good option with a small team. Stealth is nice to pick your battles. Good dps and you have some good stun options.

Druids are also quite a good plan. I always like Druids since you have options like boomkins or bears available.

If you're new to boxing, however, I would not do melée as your first team. Stick to three ranged classes.

As what Boylston and Ualaa said

warr would be harder to box. Its ok as main. But kinda hard as slave (mainly due to low survival, and stance management,) . Plus warr just got hit by the nerf bat . Damage down by like 17%.

When you box melee, gotta start with lock down/burst and able to get out of snare. If your target just let you free bbq them, then any melee works. (3 warriors probably fastest). BUt thats not the case in reality. To me personally, I would pick DK + 1 Ret + 1 Enhance if I were to box a 3 v 3 team.

More over, if you play 3, how would you gear them up. 1 by 1 will be painful. and 3 rogues you will have hard time to find a group, gotta have hybrids.

I wouldn't recommend 3 melee. If you are going to run melee, in my experience you want to run 4 minimum. This past weekend I took advantage of AB weekend to break in my DK's in the 79 bracket. There is night and day difference between 3 DK's in this and 4.

With 4 frost DK's I was an absolute beast in this bracket, after the first couple of games, the first AB games in almost 3 years I became like "The Wolf" from Pulp Fiction, if someone had a problem I came and fixed it. If my team was on top of things and we were dedicated to the three cap, BS, LM, Farm I just sat at the junction between the three and stomped any fight at those locations.

Later on as my DK's started dinging 80 and I dropped down to three, my ability to dominate fights where the opposition had plenty of high levels and 18k+ hp greatly diminished. I took forever to kill, but I couldn't spike people down the way I could with 4.

In a coordinated environment with people setting targets up for you via stun/root/snare or whatever three MIGHT be enough punch. However if you are limited to 3, I would highly suggest a 3 box range group.

Thanks for the feedback guys.. so helpfull!! I have taken all your advice into consideration and decided to go for 3x rogues..

This isnt my first box team.. i have 4x shamans..
As you say with rogues I can pick my fights setup CC and vanish if i get in shit! I will nearly always be running with my bro (Healing priest/pala) and mates.

Going to roll them out now and let ya know how i get on..

If you have the capability to 4box, you definitely should with melée!!! Run with 4dks or pallies if that's the case. 4 is ideal for BGs, honestly. I only suggested rogues if you were going to tribox-- totally different playstyle there with three.
