What is RDG? I assume that is the LFD tool. The instance run takes 15-20 mins. The time to /focus (I use a macro, so I don't even have to type it in, just target the guy and then click macro), .5 secs. Yeah, I think you can take the time to do /focus once every 20 mins.
Sure it would be nice if they gave us new targets like, MTank1, MTank2, Healer1, Healer2, etc so we could use them in raids, groups and now BGs (since rated ones will be premade). Also since they gave us roles (right-click on portrait and go to "Set Role"). But they haven't. Or maybe haven't yet. You pretty much only have a few options. Make a macro that does /assist CharName that you modify every run. Or have a /focus that you do every run. Changing macros to me sucks, so I just /focus the tank and be done. It really isn't that hard.

Or if the tank is always going to be the group leader you can use @party1, but using focus is far less of a pain.

aa so.. i could make a macro for all my 4 chars.. something like
/assist "my main char"
/focus
would that make my 3 other chars forcus same char as my main target ?

Yeah, they could just use /focus [@MainName-target]. I just don't like targeting things unless I have to. If you want to be gutsy you can just have your alts /assist your main. Then have your main /focus CharName and /assist focus. It isn't as reliable, but your focus on your alts would be clear. It means you can't change your main, it means your alts are slower to respond, and it means it won't work if your main isn't there (BGs or DCd or CCd). But there are multiple ways to do the same thing.

I'd think Focus would be safer then Party1, as you can control your focus but not force the tank to be the party leader.
Still, you might want Focus to be free, for crowd control or such.
You could have your healer assist your active toon.
Assuming you play a DPS (or tank) and are targeting whatever is being killed.
You could then use creative assist macros for heals.
#show Rejuvenation
/assist [Your Active Toon]
/cast [help][help,@TargetTarget][help,@TargetTargetTarget] Rejuvenation
This will heal your target, if it is friendly; if not, it will:
Heal the target of your target, if that is friendly; and if that is also hostile, it will:
Heal the target of your target's target, assuming that is friendly.
If you wanted, you could add a last condition like: [@player] which defaults to healing your healer.
