I have an io-extreme drive and after countless re-installations and driver updates I can't get it to work right. It constantly prevents my computer from loading windows (what moron at Microsoft allowed a device to prevent windows from loading?) Anyways I had this procedure for starting up my computer that involved starting it up and waiting for the hang, then reset. Wait 5 seconds and then start it up again. Choose the "Continue to Load Windows" option and it worked fine after that. I like my computers to work correctly and this bugs me enough that I'm getting rid of the drive. The drive works flawlessly when you can get into windows
So there is no contest, I'll just pick someone at random and send them a private message. Then I will mail it off sometime next week. Including the kick ass aluminum case it came in.

I wouldn't mind it. My buddy is super into computers so hopefully i could get w/e the problem is fixed if you can't and do indeed need to send it out :)
Awesome thing to do for the community man, even if the product is faulty or can't be used for windows =P

If it's bigger than 32GB then I'd love to have it! I may need to replace my current SSD, depending on how big Cata ends up being (out of space)

Maybe Jafula could use it? That would certainly be a generous gesture from Multibocks to another generous guy.

as much as i'd like the drive myself - i really like owltoid's idea.
send it to jafula =)
i'd say another candidate would be lax, considering how much isboxer does for us. but then - inner space costs money...

What are you talking about? We have been able to buy SSD's for at least the last year and a half. Both 2.5"/3.5" and the PCIE Cards.
Perhaps you live somewhere really regional but most places would order stuff in for you as long as you paid a deposit.
I've OCZ Summit 120GB/60GB drives for awhile now. They are pretty shitful and don't have TRIM but at the time the Vertex where very expensive and had lots of controller issues.
I'm totally considering a OCZ PCIE drive for WoW/Games and a SATAIII drive for my OS/applications - waiting around for Intel/AMD to announce new processors though.
And back on topic - I would recommend Jafula for the donation. I think you've already mailed it off though to someone in an earlier post?

i'm in sydney, and the big retailers (dick smith/officewks etc) i asked didn't have a clue for how much or where I could get an SSD. THen i put the idea aside as i couldnt really afford getting one of those shipped anyway >.<

Haha, Thanks Multibocks, and Thank your Girlfriend for me.
The last time I won anything (outside of a piece of gear in wow) was back around 76, and it was a cake at a grade school fair.
This just made my whole day.

Zub - check out staticice.com.au - its a search engine that will look for the cheapest price for an item.
Harvey Norman / DSE etc are very very expensive when it comes to buying parts. If you know what you want and dont mind getting in line for 30m or so on a w/e to get it at a good price MSY do great prices. Pretty sure heaps of them in NSW as I have friends in my guild who buy there.
