So i saw on the blizzard website they have confirmed it will be possible to race and faction change to the new races on the first day of cata. What does this change for you? And do you think this means RAF will work with the new races?

Nice, now I'll be able to say this sooner than later with certain characters...

FOR THE HORDE!

You know why they are doing this. Its so Activi$ion can release a press statement mid-December saying that the WoW brand made 80 Magillion Dollars within the first 24 hours of Cataclysm release. Something like that.

Its too bad they're getting rid of the racial Realm Firsts, but I'm sure most players would rather get rid of those so that they can do their racial changes sooner.

Now the question is, should I change my all-Dranei team to all-Dwarves?!

I'm waiting for them to release numbers on how many recorders they have so they can say "we sold a.billion copies before release". Not that I'm slighting them for it at all, I think it's an amazing distribution method. Especially for people like boxers that will end up buying multiple copies. You don't have a big up front cost, instead you are able to buy them over time and not miss anything.

I was holding off leveling the class that I wanted as a worgen because of obvious reasons, now I can probably plow them up to 80 and just faction change em when the time comes. Pretty spiffy IMO.

Nothing, I still refuse to use my creditcard online and it's the only option available to do a race change where I am. But this makes me assume raf will work, as there is no reason whatsoever why they wouldn't allow it.

Thus on day 1: -> 1 shaman goblin will be 60 within a minute and then I'll get him to 85 asap.

This might also be a way for them to thumb their noses at the people who were complaining when they said that they would not allow worgen/goblin DKs at first, in order to keep people from cheesing world-first race achievements. Just remove those achievements and presto... no more issues.

And with basically immediately having Goblin/Worgen toons at 80th, they're basically on equal footing for the class first achievements, assuming those survived this change.

if they paid race change isnt down. Waiting for a race change means you will be behind the curve.

But if they are down.. you'd just level as whatever race you are already.
And when you go to bed, do the race change.

just imagining the $ they make of the interest for selling the product 6-8 weeks before it's actually available makes me dizzy

I can't see any reason that the goofy looking goblins would be of interest. Change a BE to a Goblin lol .....

And unless I am mistaken, since they use a form of torrent-based distribution, they're not paying out the nose for bandwidth, either. It's just about perfect. I don't have to wait at the store or wait on deliveries for my product, and I don't have unwanted packaging materials (up to and including CDs/DVDs) cluttering up my home. They don't have to spend the money on printing a DVD/CD/manual/box/etc or shipping it to a store, and they don't even spend much on electronic delivery, AND they get paid (directly!) weeks in advance.

BTW just remembered this. If you buy a race/faction xfer in advance the icon will stay next to your characer until you use it. Looking at the character creation screen it appears Goblin and Worgen are there but you just cant use them till Cataclysm is unlocked on our accounts come the 7th.

So my goal will be to buy a race cahnge on my team maybe a couple of days in advance and get around to using it once I've made my decision.

Most likely though I will be going Goblin Shaman (to have the smallest possible character in PvP) and Tauren on my Paladin because tanks should be big and beefy. :D

Had a look at alot of youtube videos to check out the animations and Goblin Males and Females both look great.

I'd be careful with that Slats. Might want to read the FAQ or ask someone before you do that. I remember seeing something about how it dissapears after so long of not using it.

As for race/faction changes go, Im still leveling 4 femtaur paladins on release.
