Cata Frost DK dps macro? anyone?

there have been enough changes, that I'd like to see if anyone has anything working.

according to the boys at EJ, the rotations should look something like this:

single target:

Diseases > Ob if both Frost/Unholy pairs and/or both Death runes are up, or if KM is procced >
BS if both Blood Runes are up > FS > Rime > Ob > BS > HoW.

multi target:

HB if both Frost runes and/or both Death runes are up >
DnD/PS if both Unholy Runes are up > FS > HB > BS > DnD/PS HoW.

I'm clueless as how to model the prioritization in green in a macro..

Pulls respectable numbers, im sure its not optimal.

use a click macro because with all the proccs its hard

i dont use obliterate and i play in Unholy presenc and for PvP this is just fucking great, reforge everything to mastery

How would you get those setup with a click macro without the timing commas? just a long string of click commands?

(Sorry still a noob at building these, I do a lot better hacking on what someone has started...)

I'm not really a fan of the alternating dps buttons, but they are amazing for DK's :P
After a couple hours of dps testing here is what I've come up with :
Frost DK Dps - 2 button alternating (See Mercucio's Thread)

Button1:


/castsequence reset=combat plague strike, blood strike, howling blast, obliterate, howling blast, howling blast

/use 14


button2:


/castsequence reset=combat horn of winter, frost strike, frost strike, frost strike, frost strike, frost strike

Im using the 2 button thing (i mightve stolen it from mercurio, im sure i didnt think of it myself lol) in order to use my spam button (which is 4) and then alternate with 6 which will summon my ghoul... thats how im trying to keep the ghoul up withoiut having to pay attention to the cooldown.

I will give your 2 button deal a try and report whether it does better than my gimpy macro =P

You don't need a castsequence as a Frost DK. All you have to do is mash Howling Blast, Frost Strike, Blood Strike, and for right now Plague Strike. Once Cata goes live you just replae Plague Strike with Necrotic Strike... For profit!

Negatory.... with my spam rate and rune's refreshing from frost strikes etc... a single macro isn't flexible enough and you will lose dps. The rotation you posted is not what happens when you run this setup. When you have no runes it does Frost Strike Till you get runes (unless you have no RP) something your macro would not do.

I'm not really a fan of the 2 button setup either, but so far I've found it to net higher dps for Destro Lock, Any spec DK, and Ret pallies. Everything else I have just on 1 macro or a macro with a /click.

Adding 1 more frost strike to the 2nd button and going into Unholy presence seemed to net higher dps. It is kind of RNG based on the rune resets with frost strike. Frost presence gives you more RP = more frost strikes = more rune resets, but as an overall average I netted more dps in unholy presence with higher burst in frost.

2H or DW? According to EJ, Unholy is better for a 2H, while Frost is better for DW (If I remember that correctly).

I'll give the two-button one a try. I used to use that for my 96969 prot pally.

I make 6k dps on the dummies using a one-button mash with my DK's. Howling Blast is insane.

My dk's gear is pretty shitty but I am dual wielding... at top end gear frost is probably way better for dual wielding.
