The question is all over google, and I remember a while ago it was discussed on this board as well. Forgot the post though. But in simple: anyone has come across any news about the availability of RAF to level up goblins (both granting levels and 3x xp). Also will heirlooms work?

I've 2 char slots left on my main account and actually wanna go goblin shaman for my raiding toon. Could boost 2 toons on another account to 60 prior to cata so I could grant levels. I can't be arsed to level up a new toon the normal way from 1-60, so this would be really welcome.

Haven't read anything regarding RAF.

Have read that heirlooms will work, but using them will disqualify you for realm first achievements.
That towards the start of the beta, so not even sure if it is current/correct anymore.

Heirlooms are going to work up until level 80, and Cata will bring new pieces. As for them disqualifying any realm first
achievements I have not read about that for awhile and when I did, it was speculation. I think it would be a little lame
if they chose to disqualify those people in a realm first race like that, even though Blizzard is capable of anything.
Reason being, realms are very established these days and anyone who would even have a shot at a realm first
achievement currently has access to those 1-80 heirlooms. It isn't like some new guy who has never ever played the
game is going to start in Cataclysm and be in the race for level 85 realm first. Does the new guy have a shot?
Technically, yes. Realistically? Not going to happen.

You may want to level up a new character the regular way, to get the full feel for the new cataclysmic changes.

I don't see that happening any time soon actually. Currently my only interest in the game is end game raiding / bg's and playing the AH. Still have quite some 'solo' toons on my main account that I enjoy playing for a few hours now and then as well. Leveling up a new toon to see the new zones is actually the last of my worries.

Being disqualified for server first goblin is totally fine by me. I just want a goblin shaman for the racials to start raiding asap into cata. Hence why I hope to be able to make it my main as fast as possible in cata.

Not sure when it will be allowed, but a race transfer might be the quickest.
I've seen posts stating we won't be able to race change initially, as well as posts saying that would disqualify you for realm first Goblin/Worgen to 85th - which implies being able to almost immediately.

If they don't allow race transfers for say a month, you could still level another Shammy from 80 to 85 during the month, so it is not wasted time, and then do a race change.

On a related note:

Does anyone know if the new race/class combos (of existing races) will be treated the same way?

I'm curious when I will be able to change my shaman into the dwarf he was clearly meant to be :)

Just started RAF a couple of weeks ago! Didn't even think about a possible conflict. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Yes, all aspects of RaF will work with the new races.
