Low FPS in Cities/Populated Areas

Orgrimmar, Dalaran, Thunder Bluff, etc...

FPS drops from 60 to under 10. It completely tanks.

I am running:
Windows 7
8GB RAM
ATI 5850
120GB SSD for WoW Folders
AMD Athlon 965 BE
1000w PSU

Settings are on absolute lowest when I enter cities, and they are still awfully laggy.

Could it be from my internet speed? (Normal ping is 450+)

No idea if this is the problem that you have but I found that my fps tanked because of addons that I had loaded that were throwing errors all over the place. Once I updated the addons I could and got rid of the rest my fps went back to where it was before.

Your setup should handle it fine from a hardware perspective unless your SSD is getting full or has been written to alot (they can get much slower than a HDD once they have been used a bunch). Make sure to use TRIM on it if you can. It could also be the connection or just having more people in the cities lately taking advantage of the pre-cataclysm stuff.
