You can now go to battle.net and upgrade your accounts in preparation for Cataclysm. Looks like I don't have to shell out $250 all at once, I can order one a week (six accounts) and have them by the 7th. When the data's available, apparently your client will start downloading it so you can play at midnight (el-oh-el, midnight on the 10th, maybe).

I can't get on Battlenet at work. Do they have an option to upgrade with the collectors edition?

I logged in after upgrading and a new 700+meg patch file started downloading. I was able to upgrade 2 accounts and the third gave my an error :(

No CE without going to the store and getting an actual box.

can you buy the box from the store early, or can;t they sell it to you until December 7th ?

DONT UPGRADE YET!

It seems it is stopping people from logging in upgraded accounts. It will tell you the login server is busy, but reports are saying that people can still log in their non - upgraded accounts. So I would just wait if you wanted to play today.

I'm cancelling my CE and my 4 Standard copies from EB Games.

EB Online have the price @ $59.99 AU. Digital Download all the way.

it seems they removed this service temporarily until it doesn't lock your accounts, so no worries now

While I will miss the lawn chairs, laptop-showing-dvd, junk-food late afternoon-'till midnight funfest that was TBC and Cata launches... I'm sold on pre-downloading and playing immediately.

Somehow, i think i'll do the same :-)

Thinking of it, I can't begin to imagine the amount of $$ that Blizzard makes, just with the interest of those pre-orders for 6 weeks.

Just got the 'end of year' folder from my local mal in the mail. And cataclysm was priced at 24 euro. I was like ... :O

for those who happen to be in belgium: dreamland is the name.

I upgraded one account last night, thinking of doing a few more over the coming weeks, it will make the upgrade a lot less painful financially.
For some reason it does not feel so bad clicking the buy button online vs going into a store and handing over the card in person lol, also correct me if I am wrong but no state tax in Cali for digital download? I can see blizz has not charged tax.

The reason no tax on your CA purchase is that in CA sales tax only applies to "physical" goods, so no disc, no sales tax. This is true for all software (not just WoW) and is very handy if you buy expensive products for work etc.
