It looks to me that flame shock scales different since the patch. What I think i've noticed:
- FS scales with your haste throughout the fight
- FS does not scale with your crit and spellpower throughout the fight. The initial values upon casting stay the same for the entire fight.
The twist here is that once your lava burst has reset the timer on FS (the 4x T10 bonus), there is no way to reset FS, even casting a new FS does not seem to change the values.
Example: you start with 3k spellpower & 10% crit, cast FS and nuke, 30 seconds into the fight you have some procs which give you 4k sp & 20% crit, then when you cast flame shock again: ...
- without 4x T10 bonus: your new flame shock will have 4k sp & 20% crit
- with 4x T10 bonus, your original flame shock will still be up, and recasting flame shock will still be 3k sp / 10% crit, so the only way to get the newer values is to wait till FS is off the target and cast a new one
In other words: once flame shock has been reset by LvB, it keeps the original sp / crit values, even when you recast it (since we have infinite flame shock now basically with 4x T10).
So it makes it really worth it pop on use sp trinkets and elemental mastery at the beginning of the fight, i.e. prior to casting flame shock. This gave me a good 900 - 1200 dps difference on the target dummy.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
