I'm currently running a frost mage / enhance shaman. I'm looking for some advice on how to set up to be able to keep my shaman in melee range while the mage casts from distance. I have ISBoxer just started using it today. Typically I run the shaman as my master and mage as the slave. A long time ago I had a shaman / paladin setup but I forgot how I did it. Anyone with advice would be appreciated.

You'll want independent slave movement.
Look at the mapped key, Others Jump.
And change it from a jump action to down arrow, or S.
That will break follow, so the mage is at range still.
And the shammy can run in and kill stuff.
You can also do an Interact With Target keybind.
And enable Click to Move, in mouse options.
Then drive with the mage, and use IWT presses to keep the shammy in melee.
As an alternate method to drive/play.
pretty much what Ualaa said.
I would drive with the SHaman indeed, and just have a specific key to tap (press rapidly) to move the mage a bit and therefore break follow.
Typically I use my formation key to break follow.
fights will look something like this:
- find suitable target (mage is following shaman)
- get within 30-40yards of target (mage following shaman)
- tap your formation key (mage moves 1yard left/right/back/whatever, shaman keeps running to mob)
- attack mob with both toons. (shaman melee, mage ranged)
- Once the mob is dead, tap your follow key and repeat.
or you can also go Elemental with your shaman, and blast mobs from afar.
pretty sure they will all be dead before they reach you :-)

Yea I'm thinking maybe it'd be easier to just go Elemental and nuke everything. Then I don't really need different setups for melee and caster spells.

I actually think I'm going to try the IWT and master the mage. Hopefully I can figure it out or isboxer chat here I come ;)

I would personally go Elemental with a Mage.
But, these are your toons, so go with what will be the most fun for you.
I'd still recommend getting the independent movement working.
And the Click to Move / Interact With Target stuff, is a good tool to have in your arsenal, whether you use it for this team or another.

I set up the IWT last night and just control my mage as the master. It goes a lot easier so far. Set up a mouse repeater region using grid following your guide last night too and it works out good. The only thing that I need to figure out is how to set up like Shift + 1 to go through to my shaman so I can change his keymaps to be separate from the mages. For example Frostbolt is 1 and Primal Strike is 1 that works out fine cause I spam both. One issue is totems. I have them setup as Shift + 6 is Flametongue, 6 is strength of earth, and alt + 6 is searing. The shift and the alt + 6 dont work and only 6 is passed. Any idea on that?
*Edit*
Actually realized I could use the same setup I had with IWT kinda. Just map many new keys and make the target group melee so when I push shift + 1 on mage 1 is pushed to shaman.
