One day shorter and no major announcement? I thought they were going to announce their new MMO in development or maybe some game changes that made me , instead they rehashed a bunch of crap I already knew. Ugh.
edit: dont get me wrong, Im excited for cataclysm... just underwhelmed on the blizzcon compared to past ones.

Yea it seemed like there wasn't a buch of new announcements. They would hint at something but it would always end up as a jest.

About the only thing that stuck out with me is being able to preorder/download Cata from Blizz before Dec. 7th. Outside of that, I agree, it has seemed a bit lack luster.

It's not a day shorter just a couple hours shorter...
They had more people, a bigger budget, and more space.
Yet the quality was no where near the previous blizzcons. I was disappointed but the arena tournement was fucking amazing.

They did announce the next gen MMO, World of Jersey Shorecraft...
I think it was a weird time for blizzard, they have a game that everyone knows a ton about thats all but finished, and they recently released another game, so they didn't want to overshadow those games with anything else. It was disappointing, but not unexpected. They said they wouldn't even announce the name of the next gen MMO until 2012...
Oh, and watching SC2 or WC3 tournament is WAY more interesting than watching Wow tournament.... the wow tournament just showcased how ridiculous arena pvp is, with everyone getting healed to full in a split second, and nothing much happening.
I was also underwhelmed. I was expecting either the new MMO or a release date for something but the biggest thing was a half-assed Diablo 3 beta giveaway for some unspecified date. :(
Ahh well. Got to meet some people anyway. If anyone else is still around we could set up a meeting in the hilton lobby or something

Dunno man, if you werent watching the grand finals when Sopah switched to a priest -- you missed out. It was epic, each and every battle.
We stayed for the final matches, didn't leave blizz con till almost 11:20 P.M.

I guess I didn't stick around long enough on the wow tourney, but the part I saw was uneventful to say the least. I'll have to check out the online stream later.

There were parts that were pretty damn boring. When it was Complexity vs. AAA and they were playing LMD vs. LSD it was /yawn... matches were 20 minutes long with no deaths, and wins decided by damage.
That wasn't working because AAA's warlock was affliciton and beating out complexity's destrolock in damage, so they switched to disc priest instead of druid. That made it interesting.
The whole thing was pretty sad, we had to stop and have blizzard review a match because there were some "legal" challenges to how the final round played out. I think this took the wind out of complexity and they lost shortly after in another "final" match.

I hope everyone had a great time. Sorry I didn't get to come this year - hopefully next!

I had a good time. Blizzcon has always been 2-days, so it wasn't a day shorter.
I loved the SC2 custom map showcase. I can see myself playing StarJeweled quite a bit in the future. Aiur Chef and Left2Die were cool, but not something I'd play very often. Dota was just amazing, and I can't wait to see the finished version.
I wasn't really expecting any big announcements. Wings of Liberty just launched, Cata comes out in a month and a half, and D3 seems to be coming along pretty well too. The only thing I could think of that they might have revealed was a cinematic trailer for Heart of the Swarm, since I'm assuming it'll be almost done by next Blizzcon.
The tournaments were definitely better this year. I dunno if it was DirecTV's influence, but the coverage and commentary this year were a huge improvement over the last two years.
My only complaint is the lines. With more and more people each year, the lines are getting crazy. The longest one I was in was for StarJeweled, which took over 1.5h :(.

We actually watched every match Red was in on Sunday, but once they announced them as the winner, we didn't stay around for the ring ceremony. We'd been sitting in those super uncomfortable chairs for hours and wanted to eat so we left. Little did we know they would reverse the win about 30 minutes later. It really sucked to stay there till we were told it was the end only to read about it in the forums and not even in an official statement from Blizzard.
Also, they way they did the main stage this year without all the extra screens on the ceiling meant it was all but impossible to see anything. Last year you could see a screen even sitting in the back corner on the floor, this year even decent seats couldn't see anything.
Had a great time, but was really disappointed on all the little things that they let slip through their fingers.
