I have 3 druids (60) levelling together to catch up to a fourth (70). Prior to the patch they were all boomkin types but this new moonfire/sunfire stuff is just beyond me to manage.

Would you guys recommend levelling them as feral cats or stick to the nuking without bothering to manage the eclipse mechanic?

Stick to boomkin. Do not worry about eclipse for now.

Either spec will work well.
You have a lot of damage, focused onto a single target.

Feral Cats require Click to Move and Interact With Target.
I have a team of these, and they're quite fun to play.
If you go this route, you'll open with Feral Charge (Cat) and Ravage.
With a lot of Mangle spam, to down things.
Anything harder will include Rake and Rip, for the dot power.

Boomkins can Insect Swarm & Moonfire anything that will live a while.
But you can straight Wrath or Starfire spam anything too.
If you want, do castsequences where you do 8-10 of one, and then the other.
Or go with two buttons.
Or just ignore the Eclipse mechanic, as things will die fast anyway.

I'm struggling with boomkin DPS as well. Made a very simple little addon, that checks your eclipse status after and right before entering combat. It switches to actionbar page 1 when your eclipse points to the lunar direction, and it switches to actionbar 2 if it points in the sun direction. So I have my starfire rotation on key 2 of page 2, and my wrath rotation on key 2 of page 1. It doesn't work as well as managing it manually, but at least you get to use your eclipse on some level.

Addon can be found here: http://blubber.student.utwente.nl/~blubber/

Thanks, folks. These tips help tremendously.

Blubber, I redid my toons to feral but will most certainly be giving your addon a try when I'm boomkining again.

I would hardly call it an addon tbh, with a bit of effort you can probably compact it into 5 lines of lua. Anyway, it does seem to work. My 67 boomkin did around 450 ish DPS (thats in feral gear, bar some pieces), with this addon and a slightly better rotation it's up in the 600s, which is an increase of roughly 30%, not bad if you ask me :).
