Took my druids in and killed him. First fight he dropped the horse for one of my alts. Never thought i would see it. But to me, it is worthless unless I can get 5 of them. Might take years!

I got 1 yesterday for my alt. My main had got one a few years ago, hoping i can get 2 more for the rest. Heard a rumor that if you hit him before he lands the person who hit him first has higher chance of mount. I'm betting rumor is 100% crap but it would be cool if it isn't.

Congrats! I got it last night on my main as well. I was afraid it would be a repeat of Brewfest - didn't see a mount drop on any of my toons. Good luck with the rest of your team!

Yeah and if you rub a kitten on the head, run around SM 5 times, then chant Horseman's reigns you have a higher chance for it to drop. :rolleyes:

That's not how the game works. There was a thread many years ago on the Blizz forums discussing such things. You can't up your chances and random is random. Think the blue said everything is determined the moment a mob is spawned.

I know it is probably just an effect of random chance but it does seem like the drop rate is higher this year. I used to kill him probably 10 times a day in years past and never saw one drop but this year I have witnessed a bunch of people getting them (including one on one of my alts). Probably just dumb luck this year but who knows ... even a couple percentage point increase in drop rate could have a profound effect.

I think they upped the drop rate.

I've gotten 3 of 4 on my pally team and 1 of 4 on my shaman team so far.

So keep it up! Only bad thing is that one of the pallies has gotten it twice.... :(

It seems like they upped it. I got 3 so far total. Even if they went from 1% to 2%, that's double the drop rate.

I have yet to see one drop in four years of playing. In fact one of my alts literally got an empty bag this year. The screen message said "You bag is empty." then gave me some justice points. /sigh

Ive got 4 this year after never ever seeing it drop before so either im extremely lucky or the drop rate was indeed increased. And no you cant trade as I received 2 on the same char :(

I've gotten 3 so far this year. A crap load of Hallowed Helms...one night, I got 6 (1 for each then the DK i sub'd in for the Paladin tank, she got one too.) The DK also got one of my HH Reins, but the other 2 were to one of my locks and the priest. I'd like to see the Paladin get 1, since unlikely I'll see the ZG tiger or raptor:( /sigh

Make sure you have empty bag space before you kill him. I forgot to clear space on one toon and they didn't get the loot filled pumpkin. With my luck, that had a mount. =(

Im short the helm for the meta. Ive had no luck at all. 3 times I have had empty bags and I have yet to see anyone get an epic. But I have seen people get the pet and helm in the same bag. So not fair.

I did the same thing on my main team, killed him and got no pumpkin on my tank since her bags were full, so thanks a bunch for mentioning this. (I don't check the mailbox every day, since I'm the only one who ever mails things to my toons lol)

I finally lucked out this morning and got both the helm and the reins. That gave me the meta for the Halloween event. I spent the past week getting more and more pissed off at not getting the achievement due to a stupid random 1 a day drop chance. Getting the mount at the same time was pure gravy.

I reckon they should change the event mount drops to at least BoA (consumed when used). Makes it useless if it drops for you again on the same toon.

I actually used ShowEQ for a few months. Never got banned, but probably got lucky. Unfortunately, you could only see the mob's loot if it was a handheld item. No other loot showed up. But it was useful for hunting rare spawns.

You used it after Sony changed their loot table generations :P Mobs used to spawn with their loot already on them, but after everyone and their mom
started running showEQ they made it so the loot was generated on death.

I got 2 HH Reins on my first horde group run, none on my ally teams, have 3 ally teams and one horde running it. Having said that, I have been seen a lot of the mounts in Dalaran, does not feel that special anymore :(

This happens to me as well, I consider my main the "tank" driving the team, even though my raider is one of my ele shams. My main was first to get the green drake from the egg, both the ram and kodo, and got his SECOND reins today.

Same, my main used to be my ele shaman (back when i wasn't boxing) but quickly became the paladin when i discovered she could do many more things (for example solo most the old world instances etc)
I think soloing Onyxia (level 60) on my paladin was the date i swapped main.
Now she's my tank, and my main character. I'll only bother with the achievements and reps on her, and sacrifice all the others to buff her.
Only painful bit so far, had to redo the loremaster achievement that i had done on my shaman :-)

while i understand why blizzard implemented the drop via a loot bag, it sucks for a boxer, not being able to choose which toon gets which drop. I remember back when Oculus was changed to let the blue drake drop, and the item was tradeable, so I gave it to the toon that didn't have a drake mount (just had the gryphon)

I have yet to get one drop, but I haven't been running it too often, and 2 of my teams are still non talented post 4.0.

I've only seen one this year. I destroyed like 6 Brewfest mounts this year because they only seemed to drop on toons that already had them. Only managed to get 1 mount on the "right" toon. Such a bummer.

Got kodo's but all on my slaves and that was a drag. Only thing good about a loot bag is that you only have to kill it once. I remember Valentines I was doing 7 a day took over an hour.

You know you can get the Hallowed Helm (clothie one) and Pet from Treat bags from the Inn Keepers?

You can Trick or Treat once an hour and get them that way, no lvl restrictions either, so coolness for bank alts

My paladin has had one for two years now. Of course one dropped for her.
Then paladin #3 from team 2 got 2 rein drops.
Other than that, 0 drops for the other 8-9 alts who were there day in day out.

I think they bumped the drop rate the first night and then lowered it back the next day and then on.

I got 5 dropped the first night, 3 on my pally team, 1 on my DK team, 1 on my shaman team.

Has not dropped since and I take 20-25 through per day.

I'm with you. I saw two drop the first two nights and not a single one since. On a related note, I didn't see a single Horseman's Helm drop the first 5 days. This week, I've been getting helm drops like mad.
